Black Irish 2007 Limited DVDRiP XviD-iNTiMiD

Black Irish is quite a remarkable limited movie which enjoyed enough buzz at various film festivals around the world. We informed about heavily watermarked dvd screener a while ago and now group iNTiMiD releases a clean dvdrip. Although one would probably think it takes place mostly in Ireland, the majority of actors are American so you don’t have to worry about (lovely) Irish accent. Usual quality on 1 CD included.

In South Boston, where Irish roots run deep and Catholic tradition reigns, two brothers face similar hardships but lead far different lives. While older brother Terry descends into drugs and crime, 16-year-old Cole (Michael Angarano, The Final Season) vies to make the state baseball championships-but must struggle to withstand his brother’s destructive influence. When the two inevitably clash in a life-and-death confrontation, family ties-and futures-are at stake.

“so you don’t have to worry about Irish accent”
Yeah who wants a pesky accent to get in the way when watching a movie about Irish Americans. Wait, what?

“Although one would probably think it takes place mostly in Ireland, the majority of actors are American so you don’t have to worry about Irish accent.” – Martin

Although one would probably think any film with non-American accents in it may be too difficult for some to interpret or like, for me it actually has the opposite effect.

Trust in films that aren’t ruled by Hollywood cheque books, starring A-list celebs with a focus on large corporate returns with little to no investment of quality, and a lot of you shall be rewarded.

Like Jake said: “Yeah who wants a pesky accent to get in the way when watching a movie about Irish Americans. Wait, what?”.

    Touche, comrade.

As long as the words are comprehensible it wont be a hassle

    Black American Irish? hmm…

“so you don’t have to worry about Irish accent”

What an ignorant comment. I think an apology is due for that one. The Irish accent is the most loved accent all over the world and isn’t exactly hard to decypher.

nothing wrong with an Irish accent (I’m from Ireland btw) It’s american actors such as Tom Cruise in the likes of Far and Away or shows like Heroes that made me cringe in disbelief! In Heroes they had a mixture of american/northern Irish/top of the morning leprechaun accents…..oh yeah and we also have security guards with handguns and London Cabs just like Heroes :-D Although they got one thing pretty right, it does rain alot :-)

Martin, like previous commenters I was annoyed by your comment. You should try experiencing other cultures more, to make yourself less ignorant. You may even be surprised to find that you enjoy different voices and different people, instead of the same phrases and accents all of the time.

Uhm Martin is it normal that when i click on the Torrent Link Website i see only the DVD Screen Result and not the DVD Rip one ??? coz i prefere waiting for the DVDRip if it’s still available yet (maybe the DVD Rip is still a private tracker ???)

Well as for the comment about Martin has written in his main post, i think that you are taking all what his is saying too seriously, and those who are offended are more those who live who are Irish, but personally even if Martin was saying something about accent of my own country i won’t take it in the negative way coz i understand the position of the viewers who would like to watch a movie that they would understand, …. i’m saying that coz i’ve had the chance to watch few weeks ago a great Irish Movie and to tell you the truth even if i loved it so much, unfortunately i’ve not understood most of what they were saying .. thanks to the Subtitle that helped me more than once … so please respect all the work Martin and the rest of the staff are doing here around … i’m a site manager of a site and i know that it’s not always easy to daily update such kind of site, and please try to stop analysing every word Rlslog staff are writing .. coz i’m 100% sure that they don’t have any bad judgement on any of us or on our religion or culture.

Thanks Martin for the great you are doing around here and i hope that one of you can reply to my first question ;)

And btw Happy New Year 2008 :)

    Leo

I wouldnt let an accent spoil my enjoyment of a film.If it is a good film,it is a good film.
Besides Irish accents are different.Someone from Cork has a different accent from Dublin.
Most ppl watching Irish films hear the Dublin accent.

not really. It wasn’t that I was offended or anything and I don’t think Martin should apologise. Just download the movie if you want. Truth be told, I was more pissed off with Heroes! :-D

Most Irish accents are indecipherable. And this bull crap about Irish Americans, if you want moan on about being Irish just eff- off back to Ireland. The majority of whites in America are of British ancestry and they don’t hark on and on about it like the Irish(inferiority complex), they just see themselves as American.

“so you don’t have to worry about Irish accent”

typical American statement when has the American English become the only form of English, everybody knows about the American education system its pretty bad to say the least, except for the noob schools,my god Americans can hardly talk out through their fat faces anyway for gods sake, thats why the world is like it is now Americans think their right about everything, pick on little country’s like bully’s and be afraid of the big boys ie;north Korea who has bombs and will use them.

god willing you will not elect the wrong man this time in huckabee, please if you have any brains VOTE OBAMA

Holy Christ on a cracker! Martin said he didnt mean it in a bad way and people STILL harp on his statement. I seriously hate dumb people. I loath for the day when I can reach through my monitor and pull you stupid bastards into my room and give you a proper @ss beating while screaming at the top of my lungs with an Irish accent. That is all.

Tito/Vito..may you experience a non-stop orgasmic rush for the rest of your days. I wanna have your baby!

I just read the first 10 comments, but I am Irish born and bread, and i was quite clear that Martin meant no offense. And in fairness I would like to this than nobody actually believe we talk like Darby O’Toole and the little people.
Although American tourist over here are very gullible.
Irish know all American’s are fat stupid slobs and I am sure many Americans are aware the Ireland is in the top 5 wealthiest countries in the world by GDP and listed as the in the top 5 best places to live by the UN.

Relax with the sensitivity to the Irish comment, it is the internet, free speech etc! Many accents can be annoying, and some Irish ones are god awful (lets be honest). Focus on the film instead. I watched the previous rip, it was an ok movie. Showed a family on the edge of falling apart, which is a universal topic. Set In Boston where a load of Irish people settled, the title makes sense. RELAX FOLKS and say thanks to the peeps providing the links instead!

Sometimes accents can be hard to understand…like in the movie Atonement, even though they are speaking in english, and my native language is english, I still needed to use subtitles.

All because of their British accent.

  50. bagzer
    January 4th, 2008 | 22:29

i’m from ireland and i am not offended because any irish accent you hear in movies made outside of ireland are either done by people from other countrys which are really bad and would make any irish person cringe or if its an irish actorin america or england or whereever the actors have to simplify the accent so tick fu”ks can understand it. you only here a proper accent in ireland.anyway is this film any good

  51. bagzer
    January 4th, 2008 | 22:42

oh and to comment 33 F”CK YOU, george you are probobly british by the sound of your comment, if you are you have nothing to be proud of because the only way the british got there grubby little hands on america is by trying to exterminate the people who really should have the right to that country. they tried to do the same here but we are still here so f”ck you if you are american the irish built your capitol city and the roads you use every day. check it out, read a books you might learn a bit. there is nothing wrong in being proud of your history.
