Black Book 2006 SUBBED 720p BluRay x264-SEPTiC
Hey, cool! Yet another BluRay HD release, but this time it’s subbed! It has english subtitles in them, not hardsubbed though. I know you like to have subtitles with them because this movie is Dutch spoken (the NFO says it also includes other languages, I don’t know about that. I just know that the ORIGINAL language is Dutch). The quality is (ofcourse) very nice, it’s HD. Just what you’d expect from a 720p BuRay release. As for the movie, I didn’t see it myself but here in Holland people seem to really like the movie and it gets good reviews over here. IMDB-users also like it: 8.1/10.
A young Jewish girl is hiding from the Nazi’s during the second world war in The Netherlands. After her hiding place is literally blown, she escapes with her rescuer, a young sailer. Thesame night, as she is hiding with the sailer, she is warned by the dutch resistance that their hiding place is located by the Germans and they’re on their way. They run the next day with this man to cross over to liberated areas. That night the boat sails onto a trap of the Germans and they kill every person on it. Rachel escapes and joins the resistance. Under the false name Ellis de Vries she meets a SS-official Ludwig Muntze on a train smuggling weapons. After the son of the resistance leader is captured the meeting comes in handy. She goes to the head quarters to meet him again and gain his trust. He soons falls for her and joins his office as a spy. But when someone within the resistance betrays her she is now seen as the bad guy from both sides. All that’s left to do is run with the man she learned to love and find a way to prove her innocence by finding the real betrayer.

There are also some other languages that are spoken in this movie, like German and Hebrew. That’s probably what they meant.

Don’t know about that, but I always play my HDrips (.mkv) with Media Player Classic (google)
For some reason whenever I try to play HD movies with Media Player Classic, the program crashes! Does anyone know why?
I’m using Windows Vista x64 on a high-end PC and my Media Player Classic is version 6.4.9.0.
Zwartboek is a pretty good movie, definitely one of the best Dutch productions I’ve ever seen.
I may make this my first HD download, if my pc may not be powerfull enough to play it, is it worth encoding to HD WMV and playing on xbox360?
I think I can play a HDWMV from a dvdr on 360 right?

While this movie may have had the biggest budget of any Dutch film to date it doesn’t make up for Verhoeven’s basic script writing, lack of realism and obsession with shit in all its forms. I don’t mind suspending disbelief for a while when watching a film but when it starts with the words “based on real events” and contains that many unbelievable plot twists and scenarios it feels like your watching an adaptation of a comic book. The sad fact is that Verhoeven has taken on sensitive subject matter with all the tact of a funeral crasher and should just stick to what he occasionally does best SC-FI and T&A. If you’re in the mood for a good foreign flick then check out Sebastian Koch in The Lives of Others.

with still a delicate subject,things are not black and /or white,friends or foe are
not always the one to be expected..
this movie is not for everyone,to appreciate.it is not science fiction,similar situations
did happen in most occupied countries,,same in asia during ww2..
would suggest that your history background is better than the world according
to hollywood,otherwise,you will miss the big lines….
that would habe been a perfect movie for audrey hepburn,(without the naked scenes)

If you wanna play these files in WMP or media center, you need to install Haali Media Splitter and the latest FFDShow Tryouts. If your PC struggles, disable playback of x264 in ffdshow and install CoreAVC which is more efficient in playback and can use multiple cores (if you have em). You’ll need CoreAVC on most PCs if you want to playback 1080p x264 content!

I haven’t downloaded this yet since it’s a large file and want to know a few thins before I wasted some bandwidth.
Does the file end with .mp4 or .avi? Can I just burn it onto a blank DVD and play it on the Philips DVP-5960 player? or I can only watch it on puter using the KMPlayer as someone suggested above?
And BlueRay means it is a direct rip from BluRay DVD but not the actual BlueRay files right?

700 MB release are good enoigh for me, its bad enough games these days are 4-9 gigs already, there is no way im getting 4GB movies too. Have fun to whoever spends bandwidth on this..

The file is a direct rip from a BluRay source and has the extension .mkv (Matroska). I’m afraid you will not be able to play it on a regular DVD-player.
What I suggest is you either connect your PC to your TV or you download another version of this film, like this one:

Yeah, English subtitles are there so all is fine. They just only show in VLC (not in MPC) as mentioned by eddie.
