Bioshock Real CrackOnly Working-Darkcoder
This is one of those rare times when rlslog will post an article about a non scene release. That means its got to be for something big… A real working crack for Bioshock? Maybe… We cannot confirm it working but all reports so far look as though its the real deal! This is not a scene release as far as we can tell because we think Darkcoder is just one person on P2P. The scene are quick to pre this though with release names like BioShock.CRACKFIX-iND and Bioshock Crack-ScenePwned appearing on scene FTP’s. This is a P2p crack and The Scene stole it from P2P again and again they write stuff like death to p2p in the edited NFO’s… anyone else see the missteps in logic in writing something like that? I mean if you don’t like P2P then don’t take stuff from it… I suppose they are just jealous because they couldnt crack it themselves. Anyway if you find any of these other release names they are all the same as this release by Darkcoder. You will need to get yourself the Bioshock ISO if you haven’t already as this only contains the crack. The ONEHiTWONDER release that appeared a while ago will do as well as any other Full ISO image that you might find or buy. If this crack works then it should be easier for other titles using this copy protection scheme to be cracked as well. Hopefully.
Update: I have tried the crack on my retail Bioshock install and it works! Have fun and enjoy this truly epic game! SecuROM has been compromised *again*, so Sony whats your next move?

This one is working.. the one that crashes sometimes was the experimental crack made by the torrentleech community.
This one works fine
Get DTools 4.10.
Make 2 virtual drives. Mount a mini or maxi image (Gee See Doubleyew) on the first one and your image with the install files on it on the second.
Connect to the internet if you’re not already.
Start the install as normal, pick a folder and wait. Try not to do anything else with your PC.
Once the install’s completed it’ll invoke a SecuROM media check – the DTools & mini-image will get round that (this is where you’d normally have to copy the files elsewhere).
It’ll connect to 2K to get the EXE, then install DirectX and VC. Just wait.
Finish the install, put shortcuts on your desktop, but don’t choose the Launch option.
Copy the DarkCoder files to the obvious place, overwriting existing. Merge the .reg file.
Done. Unmount your disc images and go play.
(NB: might have to invoke SecuROM emulation in DTools manually.)
If it fails, well, you bought it anyway.

There is a stolen scene release out by iND, its been nuked for being stolen as well.
the ’scenepwned’ release was obviously a subtle not to the fact the p2p networks got there first.
Funny also that u complain about sceners not being elite. When its probably the same sceners that leak the stuff to p2p, that pred all these iND-rlses with more.

Cracking it’s an art and take time. If you own a copy, then make yourself a mini-image (many sites explain how to do it) and play without crack. then wait till a scene group release something good.

Coffin.Filler uninstall bioshock, delete the 2k games directory in program files, install bioshock again then apply the crack
This works perfectly for me. I’ll post exactly what I did to get it working.
1. downloaded + installed Daemontools 10.
2. created 2 virtual drives.
3. downloaded the SECOND Maxi-Image from GCW.com, and copied it all to the same folder.
4. mount the Maxi-Image in the FIRST drive.
5. mount the game image in the SECOND drive. (I used Nohitwonders’ Image, I doubt it matters which as long as it’s full, I haven’t tried with Pacsteam, nor have I heard of anyone else managing to make it work.
6. Install.
7. do NOT copy the contents of the Bioshock folder anywhere, and make sure you LET IT DOWNLOAD THE UPDATE.
8. Copy full contents of Darkcoders’ Crack into Bioshock/Builds/Release.
9. Double-Click the Registry Edit provided with Darkcoders’ Crack.
10. Play!
If your using an AMD X2 Processor, make sure you have the Timings fix installed, if you don’t, you can get it from the actual ISO image.
If you are using a Widescreen Monitor, the game supports Widescreen resolutions up to 1440×900, but it doesn’t have the Aspect Ratio fixed, you can get it here.

you can get to the scene VERY easily, by donating to some group who will get you access to the sites, and/or with some friend. just like i got. and even that old 1:3 method doesn’t work in temptation (resurrected).

some known/common bugs with retail game:
widescreen issues, sound issues, crash issues, wierd mouselagg issues, tons of different wierd securom related errors, and the normal ingame bugs.. ;p
used the copy folder method during install with OneHit rls and slapped in the crack and viola worked right away! didnt take long to load up either.
got my game on order =o) hope theres a patch on its way to remove this now mutch useless protection crawling in our systems and fix the widescreen issues.

So I understand this game has tages protection, does this crack work for all the way through the game, or is it going to crap out on you and lock a door half-way through? OR Does this crack completely negate all of that somehow?
After my initial post in this thread about BIO crashing when I get out of lift I managed to sort it.
Here is what I did incase anyone else comes across the problems with bio crashing once out of lift/sub thingy.
There are (it would appear) two different cracks floting around (both state there the DRAKCODER rls. The 1st I tried did not have a password on the rar file and did NOT work (it was also missing the darkcoder NFO).
I downloaded another version of the crack/reg hack/paul.dll and NFO.This time rar file was password protected and all is good for me. (I did not bother reinstalling game as i always make a folder in game dir of all original game exe,dll ect that i replace with cracked versions so i just put original ones back and then coppied over this crack + paul.dll and ran reg hack.
GAME RUNS PERFECTLY PAST LIFT/SUB SEQUENCE.
I also updated my GPU drivers as when the game did crash when using other crack ect there were graphical issues at crash.
@ LOLZ_2k you do not need to have internet on and yes what you want to do will work IMHO. (I have the exe ect blocked with my firewall as I always do with most games that are D/L)

Thanks for Lasher instructions the game works perfectly on my amdx2 dual core 4600 evga 8800gts 320 meg card 3gb ram.Just do what he says.The patch solved the errors i had.IVE got the full iso game not dvd wonder version.So far ive got to the bit where ive found the injection for the powers.I must say the lighting and atmosphere effects are awesome.

Well, so the “scene” got past by again by P2P again… It’s real funny that these 7eet groups spend half their time bashing on P2P and then get around stealing from it. Hell, some of these “groups” get their ISO from P2P sources and then they bitch about it…
These wankers don’t even know what the “scene” is. They are almost without exception teens or yound adults who fool themselves thinking that it is really cool to be in “secret” groups. Well, the fact is that without P2P they would have no recognition and no glory.
If they wanted it to be secret and a closed club they would not be making websites and making torrents avaiable (yes, bitch about it then seeding their own files).
Lolcatz version is not working as far as I know, Crashes during saves.
I had to use the crack in the end (bought this game btw) to skip activation, because it wouldn’t activate, but I knew the release (P2P)wouldn’t be long in coming, thanks DARKCODER! i’m so dissapointed with the protection woe’s locking me out, that I really wouldn’t buy another online activation req. title.

I was one of the lucky ones who got real 1:1 image of Bioshock, so I had no need to meddle with mini-images.
Just mounted it with DT 4.09, done full installed, waited for updates (game actually updates not just exe, but adds Bioshock-MCE, Bioshock-MCE.png and Bioshock-MCE.mcl files).
Then I added cracked files (renamed originals just in case I needs them in future), and applied registry entry.
Now game works perfectly. And I don’t even need DVD image mounted (at first I thought this was just activation patch, but it’s both no-cd and no-activation).

dude, if you try to install bioshock with a pc like that, instead of asking u to create a desktop shortcut, it’ll most likely tell you to get the fuck out, i’d be surprised if u could run doom 3 at a stable frame rate with that.

I have a athlon 64 x2 6000+ and a 8800 Nvidia 320MB video and 2 GB RAM and I made a 2nd folder before hitting cancel on the error and then pasted crack into the bioshock\content in the folder I created and merged the registry file into the registry and launched .exe and I get ‘The application failed to start because the application configuration is incorrect. reinstalling the application may fix the problem.’:(

if your having trouble installing and playing, read my post. post #51. follow the instructions to the letter, and it’ll work for you, if it doesn’t work for you, your pc can’t run the game.

ur not supposed to cancel the error, beacause ur not supposed to get an error, u have to install the game without errors, and let it update, once it has updated it adds a .dll file and the crack, unless it’s fully installed it doesn’t add the dll and u can’t play, as i said previously, follow instructions on my post, number 51.
some people use the 3rd maxi image, I used the 2nd, i doubt it matters.

Whenever i load up a save, my keyboard is all messed up. Escape doesn’t work anymore nor does any of my movement keys but they work in the menus. Anyone have this problem?? It works if i start a new game, but not when i load a save.

I’ve installed bioshock used the crack and when I click on the crack it says “A security program can’t be activated”
Then there’s a link to securom.
Any ideas?
What exactly does the crack do? Does it remove the whole activation limit thing, or SecuROM, or what?
Hey guys, it works!! What download the Darkcoder crack and do this:1. Disconnect Internet
2. Install Bioshock
3. When it says please insert origonal disk, copy 2K Games folder to Desktop
4. After its copied, click OK on the protection error
5. Copy the Bioshock.exe to the Release folder
6. Copy the Paul.dll to the Release folder
7. Click on the secu.eg file to add it to the registry.
8. Connect Internet
9. Run the game

is it just me or doesnt it work under vista? ive tried everything and whichever mini i use in DT 4.10 (with emulation on) it always stops dead after install and deletes everything. If i copy it to somewhere before it bitches about cd’s and copy the crack inside it doesnt start anyway. Gonna try under xp now though…

i start the game then when the intro finishes i get a message that says…bioshock has encountered an error and needs to close. i need help…what am i doing wrong??
Game works fine. Follow Lashers instructions (comments 51) and ignore DonDoom’s. If the game does not work then you probably do not have the necessary requirements to play it. Simple as that really.
I still get a fail when it attempts to get online. I reDLed the Mini but not the ISO. anyone else have an idea. Oh, and im using up 2 date YASU, i still have to use that right?
Okay, the installs recommended don’t work. If you try the patch it never connects because you don’t have the original disk. If you don’t connect you don’t get the EXE file in you release folder. If you replace it with the crack and attempt to play it says Bioshock installation not found. I have done this with mini images and everything, nothing seems to work for me.

I lied, I got it to install, disregard above post. The main problem in installing is make sure you reboot before trying otherwise your locked in a circle of madness.
My problem now is that I have no control over the game, no key stroke or mouse movement registers. What is the deal with that?
Also, do I have to keep these 2 drives mounted and emulated to play the game?

i used joti online scanner and it found MALWARE/GENERIC-A in the paul.dll and the bioshock crack (makes me wonder why RL wouldnt want the community to know about this…)

as i said in my last post i AM a fan of release log and have many working games because of their great work so thankyou for that RL but i am unhappy that i had to reinstall my whole OS because of a link which i used from this site

also i would be prepared to admit that this MALWARE/GENERIC-A may be a false postive picked up by AV scan except for the fact that it locked my task bar locked my programm files stopped safe mode from working and tried to steal personal info(from what i found out it is designed to steal credit card info and log in details for paypall, e-gold and ebay accounts it is called Backdoor.Haxdoor)so id say this is pretty important and the community NEEDS to know about it!!

i have since discovered that it could be false positive and the install has caused no bad side effects this time around for me
im pretty sure that the infection i got came from the link which the game offers at the end of install to an update drivers page
DO NOT UPDATE YOUR DRIVERS THROUGH THE GAME do it manually

to OB1…i cant answer your keyboard probs but i can say that i dont have the 2 images mounted when i play the game
perhaps a clean install of the game might remedy the prob,and by clean i mean uninstall the game then delete any files left over (from your registry too if you know how) and install in a new location if possible (other hard drive)
BTW dont use the update drivers link at the end of install if you know your vid card do it manually

feel free to check the files yourself and be aware that 420 found the exact same thing (naturally i assumed the files were infected…der)

The guys posting here are from demonoid. They are upset because I was giving my opinions about the Darkcoder release being infected. It’s like they didn’t want to hear what Kaspersky Internet Security was picking up on my machine.
Nobody would install a trial version to see if I was getting a false positive they all just wanted to say I’m wrong. I even posted screenshots there of my AV picking up a keylogger and other suspicious activity on this crack.
Fine with me if they want to have blinders on, I as well as you simply did what is right. Find a virus or malware in a crack, be kind and let others know. But nooooooo… if you do that you must work for an Anti-Virus vendor. How stupid.

Previously I got other warnings using Kaspersky Inet Sec.

after install the game tried to redirect me to a drivers download page at the end and im pretty sure thats where i picked up my last infection (although the jotti scanner did pick up mallware so i cant be sure)
so there was no absolute “proof” that this was a false positive and for all intents and purposes i may very well have a virus after installing again (oh god i hope not) but there have seen so signs of it and i have run multiple scans with multiple scanners and have picked up nothing and the game works great
your right on the fact that all i did was report something i found….got called a liar…..go figure… we dont live in an honest world
so it comes down to taking a chance i guess bro and if you wanna try it , DONT use the Update Drivers link at the end of install and you shouldnt have any probs as i didnt and i would say so if i did as i have above

so after all the virus stuff and all the screw ups to get this game working finally i can say “ive played Bioshock,and it was Great!”
im not going back on anything ive said in any of my posts before this one and i do stand behind the fact that at least some of the versions of dark coders crack are infected with mal/Genric-A (its a fact as far as i can see) but regardless of all this i didnt get infected the second time around and have been able to play this awesome game
in closing i will say this…
if you want to play this game BUY IT and save yourself any hassles as far as viruses and the like ….
but if your a cheap ass like me and cant afford it then be very carefull with the files/cracks that you use
in saying this i belive i am doing my duty as a PC enthusiust and a gamer

Installed the Lolcat version yesterday on my laptop (Vista 32).
At first the game crashed after the introscene (on the plane), then Ive tried the image mentioned (#51), but with no success.
Came a cross another page where someone suggested to add “-dx9″ to start parameters, and now it works.
Not a single crash in ~4h (knock on wood)
