Do I even need to say who cracked this? FAiRLiGHT, of course. But why i hear you say there was already a crack. Well FLT claim that the previous P2P release by Darkcoder and LOLCATS is just a loader that tricks the game into activating, while still leaving the copy protection in place. If so, this isn’t a crack. Instead it is what’s called a loader. In The Scene, loaders are frowned upon because they don’t remove the copy protection, but merely fool it so here is a real working crack carefully reverse engineered to remove all elements of the copy protection and leave the original .exe, just the way the developers intended.

Note: The LOLCATS and Darkcoders crack do work, you can still play the game the same way if your were using the FLT crack. At the end of the day though try getting the FLT crack as its a real crack not a loader.

FAiRLIGHT, much like HATRED, tend to be perfectionists when it comes to cracking. They also highly value the elegance and simplicity that they usually themselves provide in their releases… Just because something appears to be working doesn’t mean it’s decently cracked. I hold this to be true, and am personally very grateful for this release.
Now I can d/l it for my girlfriend and let her take possession of my computer.

maybe pointless to you but FAiRLIGHT is showing how you get it done correctly and not half-ass it. Sure half-assing it gets it done faster but FLT is a dying breed of groups who like to show some sort of pride in their work.

There was no official scene release and p2p ‘crack’ was a loader exe. Fooling the activation while leaving the protection intact isn’t a crack now is it?
I think when some company go out full of confidence and say, “this game is uncrackable”, every single release is important.
The half-asses releases were good because they were fast (what? wasn’t it uncrackable? and it’s already cracked?), and the perfectionist releases are even better, like writing “PWND” in the company’s forehead.

and yes, this isn’t the original FLT. like in the FLTSUX release of the no dvd/cd crack or whatever for fifa 08 by FLT, they said stuff about this “flt” using their programs without their full approval. and yea, bioshock and fifa 08 mounted and installed didn’t work for me. 2 games that have been bummers for me :\. and i don’t think it’s my pc cus it meets at least the minimums for both games…

Darkcoder’s work-around was released right after the game so people could play it right away without any flaws. The ‘real crack’ from FAiRLiGHT might be ‘better’, but it’s releases weeks after Darkcoders version.
For me the credits go to Darkcoder, since most people have played the game because of him/them. If the scene-nerds of FAiRLiGHT have to get their ego’s up by doing it another way, so be it. Next time do it faster, then you will have some respect.

Also none of you acutelly noe who is behind the fairlight group so you cant really comment on whether they are allowed to use the name or not or if any original members are involved. As far as i noe they released all they way up to 2004 stopped for a bit and then started again in 2006. Seems perfectly normal to me.
I think technically a loader will consume some amount of memory that could have been used by the game itself. Also, since the copy protection wasn’t crack, if the game check for protection often, it can slow down the game. So the FLT rls should use fewer memory and run faster.

As with the above poster. Mine crashed on the very FIRST chapter load. Peice of fuckin shit! Spent all day trying to fix it but no fuckin joy!.

Apparently the “not skillfull” did somenthing the “scene” did not manage to pull. And don’t even get me started on that propper crack bull… Many scene groups have done loaders and nobody minded it back then. But when an indie guy does it ahead of the scene they go in a collective whinning spree. The scene groups are great at what they do but this time they got pwned and should have the fair play to admit it.

It would have been more “proper” to release this as internal while giving credit where it’s due. Fairlight would have shown more class and thats what I usually expect from them. I’m glad to see this release though and it deserves a place and recognition but props to Lolcats and darkcoder.
does not work…the release crashed on me every time i picked up dollars so i applied the crackfix…i could then colelct dollars but a little bit later in the game it crashes when i pick up other stuff….

I shouldn’t bother trying to get this to work. It still crashes the game randomly when picking up items, the fix isn’t fixed essentially.
If you still want to give it a go though, some cock fag partitioned one file into a two part rar archive. The crack has broken program icons too so it looks ugly as fuck with the standard program ico. Anyway just open the 001 file in a unrar program then dump your decompressed Bioshock.exe file into Bioshock\Builds\Release.

Ok..more specifically, how do you mount this to a DVD?
If you want to mount an image just use alcohol 52%, its free. You can also use it to mount the mini image so that you can actually install bioshock without having any wrong disc errors when it runs the autopatcher.
As for where the bioshock directory is, it is whereever you installed it. So if you installed it into c:\program files\ the full path would be c:\program files\bioshock\builds\release.
Any reason why my mouse doesn’t work? The game loads w/ the crack but I see no mouse so I can’t click on anything.
this is a bad flt release lan gaming does not work so they left a check in there still for that and the old company of heroes unlock part has a check on it still use the clonecd version and emulate it with daemon tools and yasu works correctly with hamachi and the update with out cracking with this should be nuked flt crack which is only half cracked.

It is really just so amazing that this crack is the most sophisticated thing ever. What would be even better if it would actually work and would not crash 100% of the time after the first chapter as it does for others and did for me on 2 different settings.
Is this why vitality re-released the game in mid-2008? because of bad crack? im doing a search on this game and it seems FLT released in fall 2007, and vitality again in summer 2008. But i cant find the REASON for this rerelease, not in their NFO or anywhere. must be related to the difficult cracking of this game.
