The Christmas time is always a bit slower period of the year and the scene as well, with people visting their families, watching all the stupid TV shows and eating tons of food. There haven’t been many noteworthy releases lately, the scene needs to take a break as well. Group SYS however released an HDTV rip of 2-month-old John McCain documentary recently, entitled as “American Maverick”. Expect standard quality in this 350 MB release.
Part of the Biography television series from A&E, this documentary reviews the career and personal life of Senator and war hero John McCain. Born into a family with a distinguished reputation in the U.S. Navy–McCain spent his childhood and adolescent years moving between naval bases in America and abroad. He graduated from the Naval Academy at Annapolis in 1958 and trained as a Navy pilot. With the outbreak of the Vietnam War, McCain volunteered for combat duty and began flying carrier-based attack planes on low-altitude bombing runs against the North Vietnamese.

I don’t understand whats so attractive about an ex-soldier running for leadership, unless you want a military dictatorship. I’m glad I won in anycase, I won’t be watching this through the holiday period however might scare the kids at night.

The only thing that Americans voted for was someone who looks good and reads what the Starbucks boy wrote for him well. Its like comparing listening to Barry White or Steve Urcle. Why do you think Blagojevich was arrested so fast and the media dropped the issue so fast. Because Obama was part of it! Why was Martha Stewart put in jail for the same thing Bill Clinton did (lie under oath) I don't know why people like Democrats anyway. They fought against civil rights and the south was largely democratic in the south during the civil war. But for some reason Minorities think that the Liberals have their backs? Just look at Bush, he was elected by republicans and gets in office and wants to please the democrats so he gets more support and tries to pass democratic policy. Politics is scheming and plotting to stay in office and look good. Freedom is an undefined word and it is thrown around in the same tense. What you'll find is that Obama and Mccain have different definitions. Obama thinks freedom is provided by the government and given to the people. Mccain thinks that freedom should be protected by the government and provided by the people. With Obama, your money will be taken and taxed and you will beg the government for help and bailout, with Mccain, you would have had the money in the first place and been fine. And the Auto industry is only doing bad by the big three. Everyone else is fine, why.. because for every single worker working in the factory, there are three more paid to do nothing and be on call. The big three did bad because of the labor unions. They threatened to go on strike if they did not have more employees for the racketeers to get paid more union dues on commission. So quit whining about the CEOs and wake up. The media is liberal and persecutes the CEO. The CEO isn't even the play maker, its the Board. So you can watch your CSPAN and read yahoo news, but I am going to look at fact, dismiss media opinion, and form my own educated thought.

Mccain was against the Patriot act, which is the biggest intrusion on privacy in our countries history, it allows suspected terrorists or allies to be taken out of the country and sent to a number of foreign prisons for "questioning" this is worse than Abraham Lincoln holding thousands of people in prison for life without trial. That is why he was shot. The south didn't fight for slavery. There were free black militias that fought against the north and high taxes and diminishing freedom. Sorry to say but all slave owners were not evil. Look at it this way, the slave owners provided the slaves with shelter, food and the ability to raise a family, in compensation for farming. What does welfare do? same thing, and look at how many people love welfare. Everyone doesnt truly care about plasma televisions and rich cars, it is food, shelter, and the basic means of living that make them happy. So let them farm and get rid of a tax on everything so they can hunt and gather without paying a tax and then the people who actually want to work hard an succeed don't have to give 50% of their earnings to those who want to be parasites on society and leach off others.

As a Canadian who lived most of my life 20 miles from the border, I am always interested in US politics. But both these men appear to be fully qualified to replace Bush. Both are honorable and very proud to be Americans. It seems to me some of the commenters could benefit from watching this documantary as well as the one on Obama that A&E also did.
Now that Obama has won the election, it would be nice to see the partisanship disappear and and have respect for your new President and even for McCain, who will without a doubt try and help Obama. Cheers from the other side of the border.
