Binbot v2.0-NOY / Binbot v2.0 MacOSX-NOY / Binbot v2.0 Linux-NOY

Here’s group NOY with a newsgroup client. I never used newsgroup, i don’t know if it’s a good newsgroup client… So enjoy :)

Description:
Binbot is a tool to download files from binary newsgroups on Usenet. Features include:

  • Easy to use, fast and powerful
  • Designed to handle large newsgroups with ease
  • Automatically assembles, decodes and unpacks articles (unrar/unzip/unsplit)
  • Supports multiple connections and multiple servers for optimal download speed
  • Full NZB support
  • Built-in Usenet search

What’s new in version 2.0:

One of the new features in this release is improved memory management. Binbot now automatically detects when the amount of available memory is getting low, and starts discarding newly downloaded articles. These articles are stored on the local hard drive before being discarded, so you won’t have to download them again in the future. This should avoid some of the issues we’ve been seeing when Binbot runs out of memory.

Usenet is the wild, wild west of the net. Don't even think of going there unless you got a fast horse, a quick hand and a sharp eye :D

First Rule Of Usenet: You do NOT talk about Usenet!
Second Rule Of Usenet: You do NOT talk about Usenet!

Guys, stick to your torrents – there's nothing interesting to see here; just move along…

P.S. Think I'll stick with Alt.Binz – it does exactly what I want, the way I want it to. =]

Usenet provides several advantages over other ways of downloading – speed, privacy, amount of data… I would use private torrent trackers if I had fast upload. But I have aDSL 3.5mbit/256kbit (down/up), so services like usenet (or rapidshare) are good for me.

Yup. Usernet cost you heaps, don't use it! You will gt ripped off! As said don't go to the world of usernet unless your brave enough.

OK enough said. It kicks the ass of any other way to download, But the less people that know about it the better. Its totally anonymous and if you ISP has its own news server, then its free along with the rest of your service. Its more unknown and the people that use it would like to keep it that way.

If you interested then google it.

p.s. I wish they would provide NZB search links with posts on this site.

    @scanman:

They DID provide NZB search links, but the new mods don't know about USENET. The more people'd use it, the better, if you ask me. Spam and fakes are already abundant there, so no difference if newbs would come, but the additional number of clients sure would help to create local newsservers. As it is now, people from smaller countries have to pay quite a bit in foreign currency for access.

Not sure if anyone is still interested, but to apply the crack for OSX, you ctrl+click the application, select show package contents, open contents folder, open resources folder, open java folder and replace the binbot.jar with the one provided. Works great for me :)
