Big Trouble in Little China 1986 720p BluRay x264-CYBERMEN

CYBERMEN bring us another great old movie from 1986, its John Carpenters “Big Trouble in Little China” starring Kurt Russell. The movie itself received fairly poor reviews when it was first released which Carpenter was not happy with being quoted saying “The experience [of Big Trouble] was the reason I stopped making movies for the Hollywood studios. I won’t work for them again. I think Big Trouble is a wonderful film, and I’m very proud of it. But the reception it received, and the reasons for that reception, were too much for me to deal with. I’m too old for that sort of bulls**t” but since then has become a cult classic.

When trucker Jack Burton agreed to take his friend Wang Chi to pick up his fiancee at the airport, he never expected to get involved in a supernatural battle between good and evil. Wang’s fiancee has emerald green eyes, which make her a perfect target for an immortal sorcerer named Lo Pan and his three invincible cronies. Lo Pan must marry a girl with green eyes so he can regain his physical form. Now, Jack must save Wang’s fiancee from Lo Pan and his henchmen, and win back his stolen truck. But how can he defeat an enemy who has no body?

Awesome popcorn movie, with one of the best bad guys (Lo Pan) ever! The only thing that could spoil this classic is a re-make.

Hmm, i watched this a few months ago from an HD dvd rip. Its a funny movie and i liked it when i was young because of the lightning rider who ended up giving a likeness for raiden from mortal kombat.

some great scenes too, the rubber ball being blowed at kurt russel was one but the overall special effects of this movie really show its age, especially in HD.

    Just a small warning

The ending always made me think there had been a part 2 planned but the atop description explains why there wasn't.

Yes I think this movie heavily influenced the development of the story line and characters of the first mortal kombat, especially Goro and Rayden.

A classic from Carpenter's best era, the 80s.

@9 (werty) I seem to recall Blade Runner also not getting a very good reception on initial release. How a movie does at the box office is never an indicator of whether a movie is good or not.

There should be a world heritage order on movies that should never be remade and this is one of them. It's a great little movie just as it is.

My friend told me how awesome this movie was, i watched it and found it crap. Seriously crap. Maybe back in the day it was good but now it's just rubbish. I only watched the old Star wars recently and found them really good so it shouldn't matter if it's classic
