No, this isn’t turning into RLSLOGMUSIC, but amongst year old compilations, rereleases of 8 year old albums, and various other musical hijinks, one of the most anticipated albums of the summer almost slipped through the cracks, the new studio release of Beck.  I’ve been a huge Beck fan for years, and even though he was one of the most disappointing live acts I’ve ever seen (saw him open for the Police last year, and he just tanked), I’m still hoping there’s a lot of quality out of this disc.  It’s already recieved very favorable reviews and was produced by one of the hottest producers going today, Danger Mouse.

Beck Hansen (born Bek David Campbell, July 8, 1970) is an American musician, singer-songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist known by the stage name Beck. With his pop art collage of musical styles, oblique and ironic lyrics, and post-modern arrangements incorporating samples, drum machines, live instrumentation and sound effects, Beck has been hailed by critics and the public throughout his musical career as being amongst the most idiosyncratic artists of 1990s and 2000s alternative rock.

    Best post since The Cool Kids. Make sure and give the man another shot live. I’ve still got the first show from back in the early 90s stuck in my head. The dude followed John Lee Hooker, and he killed it. Not an easy thing to do. Thanks for the post.

    I’m aware, but my point was I got this yesterday. And RLSLOG has gotten slow, although they don’t post P2P releases. But they make exceptions sometimes.

    Good job, Spambone and Zen on the 320 version. Appreciated. Beck’s hit-and-miss for me, but I’ve also seen him live and he was one of the great performers that weekend (amongst a hundred or so). I’ll give this a listen with my fingers crossed. Didn’t know about this arriving at all so I appreciate RLSLog and above posters contributing. :D

    ps amy @20, search works reasonably enough using a string of text and quotation marks. Without quotation marks, it is a P.o.S. :( I agree its one of the weakest aspects of this site (…and I’m not a noob). :)

    @ spambone – album is 33 minutes long. The bitrate is 180 kbps.

    Very good album. Not his best, not his worst. Like some mix of Midnite Vultures and Mutations. Very short, though.

    Dude, who cares man. This websites purpose is to inform those who wish to be informed about scene and yes big p2p releases now and then. Whats the point of spending my day looking around for extra early releases and 320kps versions of Beck when all you need to do is go on RSLog.net; less time on my computer and more time at the beach with the babes ;) Yeah sure, rlsog.net isn’t on top of everything, but for someone like me who just likes pre’d movies; this place is very convienent. Scene this scene that; orlydb.com this orlydb.com that; who cares man. We are using a free service that informs people about free media; what else is better I say. Anyways, just my opinion of course.
