SEPTiC has just released their PROPER version, noting that Metis’s release was out of sync. Have fun.

Synopsis: Music-video-director-turned-auteur Michel Gondry continues to charm with his low-tech offering, BE KIND REWIND. Set in dreary Passaic, New Jersey, the comedy centers on two of the town’s residents: trouble-making Jerry (Jack Black) and well-meaning Mike (Mos Def). Mike works in a video store in an age where the VHS is long dead, but the store’s owner, Mr. Fletcher (Danny Glover), doesn’t seem to be in any hurry to change. When Mr. Fletcher leaves town for a trip, he entrusts his store to Mike with one piece of advice: don’t let Jerry in the store. But after some mischief, Jerry returns to the store in a strange state.

    IMHO - Don’t waste your time with this one. This movie is an absolute mess, and this is coming from someone who loved the Science Of Sleep. Gondry is a visual master, but he can’t write scripts. He needs to stick with people like Kaufman, or at least hire a ball-busting producer to help him reign it all in.

    Anyway, one of the most disappointing films I’ve ever seen.

    I fail to understand why people eagerly await JB’s movies when they are ultimately disappointing. This is just one more generic JB performance. Another case where an actor’s reputation far exceeds his talent.

    i want to ask something to someone and i would appreciate if someone would answer me on this. if this HDrip is 720p, how is the resolution 1280×544. what makes high definiton, high definition. could someone tell me that??

    1280 x ??? = 720p
    1920 x ???? = 1080p

    In this case the original aspect ratio was kept, so you don’t have the full 720p height, in fact most of the movies do not have the entire 720p.

    Maybe you don’t, but a lot of people do.. those blurry xvid copies look like crap - especially on a big screen. For quite a while now I only download x264/720p stuff and I don’t intend to go back ayntime soon.

    this movie was horrid. I was expecting to see some kind of ‘artsy’ film. Instead the misses fell asleep and I spent the rest of the film making fun of JB and laughing at Mos Def’s take on the role of Forrest Gump. Anyone who thinks Jack Black is funny needs to be sterilized. Jack Black proves further what an idiot he is whereas Mos Def should have stuck with hip hop. The abrupt ending makes for the desire to throw babies into a lion’s cage at the zoo. Now, onto Danny Glover… wtf was he doing? Reprising his role from “Operation Dumbo Drop” ?? Seems like that moron, Black might have been the elephant in the aforementioned… As far as “not getting it” there wasn’t a whole lot to get. The message was so simple, the dialogue - hokey at the ABSOLUTE best and the script was worthy of a buffet bathroom. At least I waited until after this to watch “Strange Wilderness”

    You can criticize this movie however you want, that’s fine with me, everyone has different kinds of taste. People bashing it like some repliers above though should simply stfu and get a life already.. This is a quite decent movie, not a masterpiece but sure as hell also not the worst movie ever created.
    I guess those are once again the morons who rate “films” like Transformers 10/10..

    I watched this movie only coz Jack Black was in it. Honestly, I was bit disappointed. The movie is not that good, but having said that its not as bad as some people here claim it to be.

    No offence guys, but I’m gonna download this anyway. The fact is that whatever someone you don’t know says about a film is a disposable review. If someone says ‘this film was terrible’ but you like the main actor, you’ll still end up watching it. I hope I won’t be disappointed, but I’m pretty much expecting the worst… Shame really, ‘cos stylistically and creatively Gondry really does make things interesting, and JB is a usually at least watchable. I’ll let you know what I think, just don’t be afraid to ignore me ;)
