Group Pukka just pre’d a much awaited dvdrip of this Jack Black comedy, which we first covered in a CAM release some 3+ months ago. Premise of the movie looks funny, and ofcourse Jack Black rocks so I have some confidence that this movie may live upto the mark. The ratings seem to be solid, as far as the quality - well it looks to be a standard 1CD with MP3 audio. Although check the comments section as people chime in with opinions.

PLOT: Jerry is a junkyard worker who attempts to sabotage a power plant he suspects of causing his headaches. But he inadvertently causes his brain to become magnetized, leading to the unintentional destruction of all the movies in his friend’s store. In order to keep the store’s one loyal customer, an elderly lady with a tenuous grasp on reality, the pair re-create a long line of films including The Lion King, Rush Hour, Ghostbusters, When We Were Kings, Back to the Future, Driving Miss Daisy, and Robocop, putting themselves and their townspeople into it. They become the biggest stars in their neighborhood.

    It’s “that you’re”, not “your”. You’re is a contraction of the two words “you” and “are”. As in, “Learn to write in English next time you try to convince someone that you’re dominate!!!”

    Common American mistake, Jay. But don’t worry too much about it. Just figured that you might want to learn the difference. That way the next time you attempt to slam someone who is obviously attempting a joke, you could be somewhat effective, rather than an embarrassment to your fellow Americans.

    Just finished watching. It was actually pretty good. Nothing spectacular but a fun film anyway.

    When watching a JB movie a lame comedy is expected, so im hoping this is one!
    Unlike Indiana Jones & TCS a top quality flick is expected due to the fine quality of actors and directors. But turns out to be a pile of shiite.

    Point is its a Jack Black movie people, most of em are rubbish but if you like his style, watch it and if u don’t, well DON’T BOTHER!!! And keep your criticism to yourselves.

    I just had to weigh in on this one. This movie is awful. I fast forwarded for a while and then had to stop watching. Mos Def is the worst and most annoying actor ever. This movie: just embarrassing.

    Thanks for the post and as always the rs links are appreciated. Everyone has different tastes in movies so read up on the releases check out the trailers then make the decision to watch it or not.

    Wonderful flick. REMINDS ME OF “Smoke.” All about oral history and great characters. One of the best movies I’ve seen of late that I never heard of….

    Well, my comments are that I liked the film, but about the release, it fine besides the end, where they compressed the credits, which is fine and allowed by the scene rules at times, but not in this case. The scene rules say “Movie credits can be encoded separately at a lower bitrate…any movies with scenes in the credits MAY NOT be downsampled!” This had some little scenes in the end credits, so probably went against that rule. The rest of the release is fine though!

    I enjoyed mos def in Hitchhikers guide to the galaxy,..
    ..but this movie..was awfull indeed !!! 4 me anyway…
