Battlestar Galactica-HATRED

A return to the old times, that’s my first thought on a 120 MB game release. Anyway, something as popular as Battlestar Galactica can be good even at such a size. There’s a small catch: this is mostly a multiplayer game and it isn’t clear yet if you can play online with this release. The game was made just for fun, it’s a PC version of XboX Live Arcade game, so that’s the reason for the small size. Let’s wait for some gamers who will try this for us and share their experience with multiplayer in comments.

Battlestar Galactica is a top-down space combat game set in the universe of the hugely popular sci-fi television show. Sign up to defend the Galactica, or play as the ruthless Cylons as they seek to remove the human menace from existence. Take part in enormous multiplayer space battles – up to 8 players online – or play through the single-player campaign.

Game features:

  • Single-Player Campaign – Pilot various ships and complete memorable missions from the TV series.
  • Multiplayer Game Mode – Play online with 8 players in this relentless space-based action shooter in Firefight, Skirmish and Domination modes.
  • Legendary Spaceships – Fly 4 Human and 4 Cylon ships from the Viper II to the Cylon Raider, each with unique weapon capabilities.
  • Special Weapons – Coordinate attacks with a gallery of destructive weapons including the missiles, guns and more.
  • Realistic Effects – Full 3D graphics to show off the detailed ships and cosmic environment.
  • Defensive Maneuvers – Avoid annihilation with the barrel roll, quick turnabouts and other aerial moves

System requirements:

  • Windows(R) XP SP2/Vista
  • Pentium(R) 2.2 GHz or AMD(R) equivalent
  • 512 MB RAM
  • DirectX(R) 9.0c-compatible video card with 128 MB RAM
  • DirectX 9.0c-compatible sound card and speakers or headphones
  • Microsoft(R)-compatible mouse and keyboard
  • 50 MB free uncompressed

Finally, I’ve been waiting for the new season to start.

This looks a little small, but I can deal with lousy quality if its a good episode!

Very funny Larry. I’m a bit confused tho Martin – you say it is multiplayer and online only , but then list ‘Single-Player Campaign – Pilot various ships and complete memorable missions from the TV series. ‘ under game features. :?:

It is a game, how dumb can you be!
And he said mainly multiplayer implying it is best played on multiplayer.

Interestingly enough , it’s almost impossible to get the feeling that this is anything but a game – Specially by looking at the second provided picture above , the one with the Gizmo going ballistic vertically….It reminds me of a certain Arcade game…

The one reason why you should download this is basically because it is only 120 MEG!

YES! Takes anywhere from minutes to seconds to download.
    So WHY would you not?

    Does the Multiplayer capabilities work?
If so does it work online or do you have to play on a local network?
what sort of protection does it have?

    October 26th, 2007 | 02:32

    Ok guys.

    MULTIPLAYER WORKS.
THE CRACK IS LOCATED INSIDE THE IMAGE.

The game is kinda fun too… Good online as you get ranks and sh!t!
So I recommend you play, because there are not many games and you should get in there and make em. I know RLSLOG has thousands of visitors.

    @19
It’s a game, so there is no Mac version.

    @7
Agree 100%, overall Beyond the Red line is a much better BSG game. It at least feels a little like the show, unlike this 120mb top down shooter. Not knocking the gameplay itself, it’s sort of fun to fly around and blow stuff up… but it could have been set in any environment, BSG or not and it would have changed nothing.

macs are for whiners who complain about lack of games / linux lack of software and windows are for professionals who can handle a buggy os yet not crash it.

Man this game is crap, your thrust is controlled by some kind of thrust meter which runs out after 2 seconds of using it, so like 99% of the time your just floating around in space having no control what so ever over your plane..

jezus effing christ, it’s a mistery to me why a developer would rape a game like this.
