Appearantly the Alliance version was nuked. CaRRe came up with a PROPER, but they don’t mension any proper reasons… Well, video sample included. All I know this is probably from a PAL DVD source. Resolution is different from alliance

Its November 1999, and five days are about to rock the world as tens of thousands of demonstrators take to the streets of Seattle in protest of the World Trade Organizations Ministerial Meeting. Among them are Django (Andre Benjamin), Sam (Jennifer Carpenter), Lou (Michelle Rodriguez) and Jay (Martin Henderson). Each has a unique story, but theyre united in a common desire to be heard and to make a difference in the world. For these four protesters, this is very personal and the stakes are higher than mere politics.

    This “movie” is like a bad documentary with so many plot lines once you get to the half of it you only care for them all to end as soon as possible so you may escape the torment of remembering New Increasingly Tragic stories of people in the movie and just Why they come to be crazy ass protesters.

    Total BS film, the anarchists are government sponsored; they were flown in the Seattle a few days before all this happened, given an apartment building to live in; they caused all the riots, and not a single one was arrested; they left, and the non-anarchists who had gotten involved or were just out there got arrested.

    The government anarchists then went back to their apartment and got ready to fly out to the next event they were supposed to go and cause rioting at.

    Alex Jones exposed all this years ago, in one of his “Police State” or “Martial Law” videos. I will rewatch them and post back which one it is.

    But yeah this movie is total BS, it’s the gov and movie companies trying to change history and make you believe a lie; just like the movie American Gangser; they want you to believe that just one guy and a couple of his army buddies were responsible for all the heroin being shipped during the veitnam war in coffins with dead American soldiers back to the states. In reality is was the entire military over there “harvesting” and stealing the opium/heroin, and shipping it back to America.

    It’s what they’re doing in Afghanistan right this minute.

    Saw an earlier release of this film and was surprised at how engrossing it was. I enjoyed this movie and learned some new aspects of the WTO riots. All in all a surprisingly good flick, that paints a balanced perspective from many different points of view.

    If you’re interested in what happened in Seattle, this film really doesn’t offer enough information, and way too much unneeded drama. Let’s face it, there was enough natural drama that hollyweird really didn’t need to add the theron scene.

    To get a little more insight I recommend that you check out ‘This Is What Democracy Looks Like’, a 2000 documentary that exposes the defining moments of those days in late ‘99. No actors, just the real people involved in a real game-changing moment in time.

    Honestly, Battle in Seattle just lacked all of the power that I had hoped it would carry. You’ll get that powerful feeling with TIWDLL.

    There is a better release of this movie, but I guess it is a non-scene release.
    I compared the ALLiANCE- and CaRRe-versions with a release called “Battle.in.Seattle.2007.DVDRip.XviD.AC3-TMR”.
    Better in all aspects.

    As for the movie, it is in my opinion a balanced telling of the story that tries to remain neutral as to who is to blam or who the “bad guy” is.
    Very well done for being the directorial debut of Stuart Townsend, although he probably had some help by the fact that he was present during the actual events.

    Very much worth watching.
