Battle For Middle Earth 2: The Witch King

An expansion pack for The Lord Of The Rings - The Battle For Middle-Earth 2 was released few moments ago, entitled The Witch King. This extension was also known as “The Rise of The Witch King”, but guys from RELOADED made it finally little shorter - which is pretty good idea, because the name of this is already little extra long. The main news should be economical part of the game, along with new hero’s army (so there will be 4 already). The other news are also hero related, he can now die or control way more objects on the map. EA developers should play a bit with the size of The Witch King, coz 4 GB for an expansion pack seems to be little over the heap for me…

Full of new content, including an entirely new faction, completely new single player campaign, and additional units for all six existing factions, The Lord of the Rings, The Battle for Middle-earth II, The Rise of the Witch-King, allows players to explore the evil side of Middle-earth. The all new single player campaign’s innovative new units will help to tell the story of the evil Witch-King’s rise to power, domination of Angmar, and invasion of the great kingdom of Arnor, home to Aragorn’s ancestors. To fully experience the evil side of Middle-earth, gamers can now play as the all new Angmar faction in skirmish, multiplayer, and War of the Ring modes.

“The Lord of Rings, The Battle for Middle-earth II, The Rise of the Witch-King will transport players to a new time and place in Middle-earth while adding strategic depth to the innovative gameplay gamers loved in The Lord of Rings, The Battle for Middle-earth II,” said Mike Verdu, Executive Producer at EALA.

“Fans will love exploring the evil side of Middle-earth as described in Tolkien’s fiction and brought to life in the visual style of the New Line Cinema films. This game is set to deliver the ultimate RTS Middle-earth experience.”

Experience a whole new depth of strategy and upgraded War of the Ring and Create-A-Hero features. Create-A-Hero’s entirely new Troll class boasts additional weapons and armor that will allow players to have even more freedom in customizing their game play. War of the Ring, the risk-style meta-game, offers upgraded army persistence, a new siege dynamic on the Living World Map, and unified territories that serve as major control points.

The original LOTR: BFTM 2 is required in order to install this expansion…

    sorry… I mean the expansion to Starcraft, that’s the best RTS that I have ever play. The history was inmersive, with twists. The gfx were awesome for the time, even now are somehow cute… and the voices… “channel open” “good day commander” ….

    I’m playing Total War 2 and a bit of Dark Crusade right now but the BFME games were fun though nowhere near as detailed as other RTS games. This should be a solid and enjoyable expansion not everything has to be total war!

    hi, can anybody tell me if he tried to play lan The Witch King?
    i have and it keeps telling me that
    ” detected missmatch…this means the multiplayer game has lost synchronization data beetwen the players…it is possible that your opponent has modified the version of the game…”
    but i did exactly the same thing to both pc’s…(with different serial ofcourse)
    can anyone please help??? thanks..
    P.S. THE VERSION AFTER THE INSTALLATION THAT IT IS WRITTEN AT THE BOTTOM OF THE SCREEN WHEN STARTING THE GAME IT’S DIFFERENT… CAN THAT BE SOME KIND OF PROTECTION I WONDER????..

    Did you actually play it? BFME2 is a nice game, and I’d rather sit with this expansion than endlessly grind Molten Core in WoW, that’s for sure.

    Can somebody re-upload the corrupted rar (r84) on RapidShare? I (and I’m sure I’m not alone in this) cannot access newsgroups from this machine. Thanks in advance.

    You can unrar the file, then press “pause” when it comes to file 84, then copy the image that has been unpacked at this point to some other directory. I dont know whats in file 84, but tis not necessary to play the game, it works fine when you do it like this.

    game.dat crashes in 15 mins of play so its a useless waste of money. Doesn’t notice your old games stats either - so not much expansion, its a new game that doesn’t work.

    go to gamecopyworld.com and get the mds/mdf. use daemon tools and yasu as instructed there. u must use the original non-cracked game dat. you’ll be playing lan in no time :)

Could somebody help me, how i could solve this problem. I love the game a lot but if the multiplayer game not working it would be a shame…

    To all those having problems with LAN mismatach. I have foud that game.dat used as a crack enables running a game on various versions. For exmaple u may have 1.0 ver crackerd with game dat for 1.03 and will be still working!! so here it is.

    The latest 1.04 update should be installed. than download a crack for ver 1.04 and will be working. that’s what i did and works perfecltly.

    there ara no cracks dor later versions, not that i know of.

    The Troll class isn’t new, as such…

    Even though BFME2 is a great fps, even though it was quite buggy. This Expansion fixes all those bugs, and adds alot more units ect.

    Though, if you have the Collectors edition of BFME2, you won’t find alot of new features. Only Units, Campaign and maps ;)

    of finally…i found a solution for the game.
    all you have to do is follow what this page says,
    although is in chinese,

    its saying something about not using any cracks, mount Iso image instead. then find something called safedisk 4 hider, set it to hide, and then you can play it…..
    after testing, 100% working!!!

    I don’t understand what to do, because in the same page that you post they post a link for the download of a game.dat and that is for cracking the game. If they don’t need to crack, why post the game.dat?

    Download the mini-image called “ns-LotrBfMe2EP1_Maxi-poseden.mdf” from gamecopy, download daemon tool and yasu. install daemon tool, put the yasu.exe in the same folder that daemon is installed, mount the image and run yasu, hide the mounted image and play. In the page posted before they put a original game.dat because maybe if it doesn’t start it will corrupt the game.dat or if you already cracked the original game.dat.
    I tried with hamachi 1.0.1.5 and worked very well.

    Tragaldaba was right, all you have to do is:
    1. -go to http://www.gamecopyworld.com and download maxi.posseden or sommethin - image file (it is in archive with .mds & .mdf, less than 1Mb, but takes 3Gb when extracted)
    2. -mount the image into daemon 4.10 - not earlier versions
    3. -cloack it with YASU -(whom you can also download from gamecopyworld) –> if is everything allright - YASU will displaying that all drives are succesfuly cloacked.
    4. -minimise YASU - NOT close (I only say this cus every kind of morons are trying to play this days)
    5. -of course, ORIGINAL game.dat is required, but if you lose yours, conact me over MSN: ivanprskalo@msn.com & I’ll give you copy of my game.dat.
    I hope I was clear about everything and helped someone - do’nt wish to someone searching solution for almost a year, like I do.

    AND I’ve forgot to say, LAN works, BUT if you have any problems, (I had) - PATCH your game with original 2.01 patch, and also works perfectly.
