Baroness – Red Album (2007)

Releaselog has always been one of my favorite websites. It’s usually very informative. It’s backed up by a great community and I can always find something on here that I would otherwise miss while scouring the ever-growing chaotic realm of the internet. I believe that’s why sites like this need to exist. To filter out the otherwise potentially dangerous or completely useless files that are littering cyberspace. I’d go as far as to say that in a way Releaselog is like cyberspaces big brother. So I would like to give back to this website and the people who run it, for all of the hours of entertainment it has brought me and help bring to you “the people” some excellent content that may have slipped though your fingers into the furthest depths of obscurity. So without further ado…

Relapse records has added a new band to their reputable roster. Hailing from Savannah, Georgia come Baroness with their fourth studio album entitled “Red Album”. From start to finish this album engages the listener in an extremely ambient yet brutally heavy sonic experience. This band is definitely in a league among the progressive masters such as Mastodon, Pelican and Tool. Not convinced? Check out this video on You-tube so you are not to waste your time downloading if this sound is not for you. If you do enjoy listening to this band dont forget to give them some support and purchase their album.

    welcome doctor W
dangerous first post, music is far more subjective than other releases (possibly) it needs better coverage here i think especially on quite other release days,
good to luck to you and do not take anything personal from the few

What, a semi decent (ilbeit ollllllld) music rls.
    Lovin it.
Keep posting the more underground stuff… moreso than this cos this is on Relapse, which isn’t.
On a side note, I saw Pelican live not too long ago, and it was mindblowing.

I read ambient and I got progressive metal. I probably shouldn’t skim through the intros.

Not bad, though, as far as prog-metal goes.

Why answer my question and delete my comment?
Now nobody understands what you’re referring to.
For clarity, I asked if the link to buy the album is sponsored.

Watson, I think it’s possible that you would post a torrent link and a paid ‘buy here’ link. Why not? I mean Martin gets paid for posting here, why shouldn’t you?

I thought this album was awesome… I almost never DL the music thats reported here but the (”tool” type sounds) had me going so I’ve downloaded it and loved it, and took the vocals out for my roommate (he’s a drummer) and he’s already gonna incorporate some of the drumming into his next show. Speaking of which….whats the drummers name and is he in any other bands or only this one?
