Bad Day L.A.

Bad Day L.A. is a third-person action/adventure game with a tongue-in-cheek comedic twist, set in modern day Los Angeles. In Bad Day L.A., players are thrust behind the shopping cart of a homeless man turned city-saving crusader, Anthony Williams, a reluctant hero who left behind the privileged life of a successful Hollywood agent after losing his self-respect. Anthony survives in his cocoon of destitution and isolation until Los Angeles comes under attack from zombies, terrorists, earthquakes and other untold disasters. Facing complete annihilation, Anthony is reluctantly forced to begin a cynical quest for salvation. Using only his street smarts and the environment to stay alive, he must save the very city and its citizens he despises, and, in the end, escape what has become a very Bad Day in L.A.

Game Features:

  • Fight through Los Angeles while suffering through calamities, such as earthquakes, fires, meteor showers, invasions, and constant riots
  • Interact with over 100 characters throughout dozens of insane missions
  • Battle with NPC’s that experience emotions, such as rage, distress, terror and chemical influence.
  • Brawl using every day items that can be used as weapons, along with firearms and melee weapons

  • Get assistance from a rag-tag collection of supporting characters, each with their own unique skills, styles and personalities.

Seriously do not even touch this game. The graphics are just a gimmick for this very dull game. Those of you who played the demo know what I mean. You will regret it if you download it. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.

What Tim, are you telling me that this shameless GTA clone, one of many, pales in comparison to the real thing?

Man, what are you gonna tell me next, that sex is actually much better than watching hentai?

    YOU ARE CRAZY!!!

But seriously, thanks for the heads up, the description had me interested.

It’s nothing like GTA. GTA didn’t invent the third person perspective.

yeah it really is nothing like GTA. There’s no open-endedness or random acts of carjacking at all. From what I saw in the demo you go along very linearly through a story told via extremely annoying and unskippable cutscenes.

Still, I’ll download it. I reckon it’s worth a play through just for the humour and ‘fuck america’ of it all :D

Never said it was like GTA, not even close. Percy is totally right, all the missions require a you to accomplish objectives in a set sequence, no openendedness at all. Also, the “humor” is watching little kids throw up and petty random violence. Those looking for a laugh with this game will be sorely disappointed.

no way! its a rather brilliant satire of the american campaign of fear. It even has the department of homeland security’s threat advisory meter as part of the game. Come on!

I dunno, it’s cell shaded so it should run fine on any system with a pixel shader 2 card, might be worth a download for people that don’t enjoy playing fun games.

Looks like a weak idea built into a weak game, trying to milk the funny premise for all it’s worth.

Terrible, TERRIBLE game. You might as well grab it though, less than 1GB is a painless download, and who knows, you might like it — that is, if you enjoy terrible controls, a pointless and tacked on plotline and dull interaction.

Don’t even try to compare this with GTA, its COMPLETELY different in every way. There is no open ended environment at all, nor do you drive vehicles (at least, I didn’t get to drive any, but I only played it for about an hour). You are locked into small areas that you can “explore”, doing pointless things like using FIRE EXTINGUISHERS to “cure” people of Zombieism, etc etc…

Don’t touch this one with a ten foot pole.
