I'm still using v6, because v8 can't run on my Windows 2000 machine. But it's still a fantastic program, couldn't live without it. Too bad they don't make this available for Linux machines too (the Wine version or other alternatives don't work very well).
Be careful though, Babylon is pretty agressive with licenses and "phone home" tactics. Make sure to block it with your firewall before running it.
"to use Babylon outside web browser" … will this replace the current spell checker that Firefox has built in?… I kinda hate it when spell-checking diacritics as I don't type them with, instead I use the plain letter.
I've tried it and find that it's not as good as the on line google language tools package—which is free. I uninstalled because of aggravating features it had also.
