The free(LEGAL) version is actually better than the Premium IMO,which has the Webguard who sloows web browsing with at least 2 sec.

I aggree also, I use Avira Personal – Free for almost 3 years,
tried AVG, Norton but still going back to Avira.
I hate also Webguard tend to slow my connection.
I use also Comdo Firewall

@12 Jesus – If you're implying Avira throws up false positives I disagree. It's one of the few that doesn't flag keygens as malware.
No point in getting into a yes it does no it doesn't debate about this but avira's heuristics are just as bad as most other AV progs. Avira is particularly hard on gametrainers which use various keylooging and memory injection techniques avira wrongly calls trojan behaviour and avira is also bad on Core keygens which it identifies as viruses even when the Core CRC shows they haven't been tampered with since they left the shop.
Ask me if I trust avira or core the most and I'll choose Core every time.
That said the prog does pick up more genuine viruses than any other prog, however many of those it does pick up are rarely found in the wild anyhow.
As for the webguard slow down you can always turn it off if it annoys you that much.
I use avira but I don't trust it. On the other hand how many AV's are trustworthy? 0
People, get BitDefender 2009 and you will be really suprised how much better it is then any other AV. I used for years Avira but lately they started to flag keygens and cracks, so from my point of view Avira becomes useless. The best replacement at the moment is BitDefender. It's not perfect but far more superior then any other AV software on the market for the users who are visiting web sites like this.
Bitdefender has become bloated and inaccurate. Avira free is miles above BitDefender

Bit Defender sucks! If you use Quickbooks 2009 Bitdefender won't let it start or install! You cannot disable BD either so you have to uninstall to bypass (MSConfig won't disable it).
BD dogs your system to an incredibly low level too! Horrible AV.
