Avatar 2009 TELESYNC XviD-CAMELOT & Avatar 2009 TS PROPER XViD-MJ2009

I planned to go see this movie in IMAX tonight, but it keeps snowing here nonstop since last night, I will have to push it back. Anyway, here is the 1st SCENE release for this big movie “Avatar”, released by CAMELOT in TELESYNC format. You can check out the sample for quality (image is cut from the sample), but seriously, for such a big movie, you should really go to the theatre for it if you have a chance :)

UPDATE: Group MJ2009 released a PROPER TS version (1CD), coz CAMELOT doesn’t have subs for non-English parts. IMO, no need to make another post coz for this movie, all but 720p Rip are bad for me :)

PLOT: When his brother is killed in battle, paraplegic Marine Jake Sully decides to take his place in a mission on the distant world of Pandora. There he learns of greedy corporate figurehead Parker Selfridge’s intentions of driving off the native humanoid “Na’vi” in order to mine for the precious material scattered throughout their rich woodland. In exchange for the spinal surgery that will fix his legs, Jake gathers intel for the cooperating military unit spearheaded by gung-ho Colonel Quaritch, while simultaneously attempting to infiltrate the Na’vi people with the use of an “avatar” identity. While Jake begins to bond with the native tribe and quickly falls in love with the beautiful alien Neytiri, the restless Colonel moves forward with his ruthless extermination tactics, forcing the soldier to take a stand – and fight back in an epic battle for the fate of Pandora.

    Don’t listen to any of the yahoo’s trying to force bluray 3d Imax B.S. down your throat. God where do these idiots keep coming from. I think one of em was even staff here. Man this place is falling apart. What you need to do is download the grainest cell phone cam you can find of this flick and watch it without your contacts and an eyepatch so you get the true pirate experience.

    Realy..

    If there is one movie you watch per year… this has to be the one… the storyline may not be the bests. nor the acting.. but as a Benchmark for future 3D movies….

    Go watch it…. it is Epic.

    44 nminutes in and jeez its tedious. Standard sci-fi fantasy story, maybe in 3d it looks great – but story wise its a yawnfest. *shrug* I’ll keep watching… so far its nothing special…

    I do want to see this (And hopefully at the theater in 3D) but it would be nice if FINALLY Hollywood would turn out a movie about aliens that don’t look/act nearly identical to us. I’d like to see something well done where the aliens truly do seem completely alien to us.

    My fellow pirates,

    Just as most of you, I usually have a hard time justifying going to the theater to see a movie. It isn’t because I can’t afford to, but because the movies don’t meet my expectations for the asking price. Well, I went to go see it in 3D IMAX and all I can say is that for the first time in years, I can’t recall ever having a better movie experience. The next day, all I could do was think about this movie over and over again.

    If it is within your means, please show support for this movie by purchasing a ticket for a 3D viewing. You won’t regret it, I promise!

    I’d just like to thank all the overbearing people who tell people they are “loosers” if they don’t go see this in IMAX. I am on my way now to drive to the closest one to me, a mere three hours away. Thank you!

    That sample pic looks like it’s from that TeaM version. Imagine’s is a bit darker, (which makes it look more normal), and more colorful, and the sound is better than TeaM’s. It wouldn’t surprise me if this is just a scene reencode of TeaM’s version anyway.

    @booboo:

    OK, perhaps I should have been more clear and pointed out that i was talking about an INTELLIGENT alien race. The aliens in Alien or its sequels were hardly that. For someone to make a big budget movie about the meeting of humans and a really bizarre intelligent alien race that isn’t comically evil would be a nice change of pace. Look at the diversity of life on our own planet. It is incredibly varied. Now imagine how utterly different an alien race would probably be from us, not only in appearance but behavior as well. A movie could be made just about the impossibility of communication or understanding were two races like that to attempt to contact each other.

    December 20th, 2009 | 03:55

    For those wondering, the sound quality on this version is much superior to IMAGINEs as there is no buzz and less base in general. As for the picture I would say it is also better, although the colours are very washed-out. However if you play with the contrast, saturation and gamma controls (I use VLC) then it can be made more watchable, if a little blurry.

    To all those who say iMax or nothing I say: FU.
    I live in the UK and we probably dont have more than 2 iMax cinemas in the whole country! and half of all cinemas arnt playing the 3D version!

    As for those saying dont download at all I say: Yes, it would be immensely better seen at a cinema. No doubt about it. Cam/TS versions dont give you that immersive feeling at all and the special effects fade into the background. However I am glad I downloaded a cam versions. It gave me the opportunity to judge the merits of the film based on my own standards and not those of people who, like lemmings, just follow along with the pack without thinking for themselves.
    It also allowed me to make my own mind up about the acting and storyline without being overawed by the special effects.

    The story is fairly formulaic and the acting is perfectly acceptable but not outstanding. Some of this is, I think, due to the quality loss of a Cam copy.

    Frankly I would not have paid to see this film if I HADN’T seen a Cam copy first. Having watched it I have decided it might well be worth the cost of a cinema ticket and plan to do so. THAT is the point of such low quality Cam copies.

    CAM/TS copies are actually going to INCREASE the takings for this movie by persuading people it really IS worth seeing on the big screen.

    It is just a shame that I don’t have a decent cinema nearby, but I will make the effort to go with friends/family to offset the cost of travel.

    December 20th, 2009 | 04:27

    Why anyone would watch this instead of seeing it in 3D is beyond me.

  55. Nick
    December 20th, 2009 | 04:34

    @132
    Well maybe not INCREASE. But certainly it doesnt do the production companies anywhere near as much harm as they say.

    Besides, when you get down to it in order for people to get/keep pirate copies they need high quality sources and THEY can only come from the companies themselves. If they were really serious about “cracking down” then they should look to their own security measures.

    All of this is of course my own opinion and I would never try to graft my opinions onto someone else. Make your own mind up. That’s what minds are for. For thinking.
    If your opinions dont agree with mine then I respect that.

  56. Nick
    December 20th, 2009 | 04:38

    @134
    Not everone has a 3D cinema near them. I don’t. In addition to that the 3D techniques used by cinematographers cannot be seen by everyone. Some people are colour-blind and others are unable to interpret the effect as anything but blurring and headaches. Unfortunate for us but hardly reason to discriminate against us for not watching it in 3D.

    I’m not buying the hype about this movie. Sure, it’s most obviously better seen in an Imax theater (what 3D movie isn’t), but the trailer alone bores me.

    Add to that, the fact that this film is purely political plot-wise, and you have yourself the makings for a huge flop.

    Mark my words. This will flop at the Box Office.

    The visuals = outstanding. Not one other movie come close. Number one!

    Don’t see the flat version without the details. The surround sound at the theater was very dynamic and all channels is used to perfection.

    @ Wickerman:
    I know how you feel. Thing is if aliens don’t have some resemblance to humans audiences find it hard to relate to them. A human like face is still the best way to portray emotion because thats in our genes and movie makers know this. Still, some brave attempts have been made to show how an entirely alien civilization would interact with humanity.
    “Contact” by Zemeckys comes to mind, a greatly underrated movie but not flashy enough for today’s jaded audiences.

    C’mon guys let’s be honest – is this movie actually any good? Something is not adding up. The trailer looks like crap that’s been done a million times, and yet both Rotten Tomatoes and IMDB are 80%+??

    And all these reviews say it’s awesome??? Someone’s getting paid under the table, I bet.

    @Prizm

    This is seriously the first film in a long time that iv’e actually made the effort to go see in the cinema first without downloading, and it was definatly worth it. It goes on for nearly 3 hours and not once did i notice that fact as it kept me interested the whole time, not to mention that visually its an astounding movie. I would definatly recommend watching it, especially at the cinema.

    Ok- so…Dances with wolves meets fern gully.

    I mean, SERIOUSLY.

    The story is so weak its insane. The hard marine joins the natives and then ends up falling in love with them, and particularly with “the girl” and then ends up saving them and whatnot. JUST LIKE DANCES WITH WOLVES.

    Other than that, I like the cinematography, and the visuals. The IMAGINE release which I got is sufficient, however I’ll prolly wait until the R5 to get anything else…and to all those who say “WATCH IT IN THE THEATRE…wahhhhhhhh” ….I agree. WAIT UNTIL IT HITS THE $3 theater. haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah.

    I just came back from watching this movie in 3D theater. They were the best spent 7 dollars in my whole life!!! Amazing!!! Now I just need something to look at it again to pinpoint the details in the movie before I get the Blue Ray release, whenever’ comes out. Watch this movie in a theater, best if it’s on 3D, to enjoy the complete experience. You won’t regret it!!! Then, if like me, you are hook up with the movie, download the CAM releases.

    Best movie i saw this year next to Transformers2 witch gains the 2nd place for my opinion .
    Saw this one yesterday in imax 3D version . Very,very,very good storyline , awesome actors , super grafhics and the 3D makes it only a more WOW-effect . Long movie (think more then 2h) but its over before you know it !
    W8ing for the R5 already and sure going to watch this one again sometime !

    I saw this in IMAX 3D last Friday and you really want to see it in 3D first, IMAX if at all possible, but at least 3D before you see a flat telesync.

    6′ tall and 3D; some of the scenes remind me of my first shrooms experience… see it in 3D IMAX if you can.

    @296./Bumb: The video quality of the PFD version seems better than the TOG one (both 720p TS).

    @289./edd: yes, it’s available (as 4,5GB mkv and 1,4GB xvid). Check also nfo excerpt from 290./koll77. Getting it in sync might be difficult, they cuttet 5 seconds out of the flick because they don’t seem to want others using their source ..

    I saw it in 3-D

    about 45 minutes I was thinking: This thing makes no sense…

    then I saw 4 guys in their mid thirties leaving the theater…

    Michelle Rodriguez gave her worst acting in her entire carreer, it was like she can’t even speak well…

    When you work a lot with blue screen or green screen, you don’t know where to put the lights inside the set, that’s why all human characters have extra light in spaces without a lot of light; that killed the movie for me, it happened to George Lucas too…

    The human parts looked liked they were filmed with a video cam and not a regular cinema cam…shame on you Cameron…

    the plot is stupid, it’s like Pocahontas and John Smith…

    there are no catchi phrases, no great musical score, no big momments, everything was random predicted action, which if you have seem movies for the past 26 years, you know what I’m talking about, it felt like transformers 2…

    there is no great awsome digital breakthrough, I mean, when is CGI, you can notice is CGI…

    plus the blue monkeys/indians look satanic to me…

    7.2/10 not 8.8/10, many people living in hypeness…
