Avast Professional v4.7.1098 Incl. KeyMaker-DVT

DVT has released new version of Avast Professional. Professional version is mainly created for corporate or business users. There is no such a big difference between this Pro and Home Edition (which is available as a freeware copy; You get a legit serial number). I’m a user of Home Edition almost a year now, and i can say i’m happy with it. It doesn’t go crazy when it comes to scene keygens, cracks, patchs (like AVG for example) and most important, it’s not a (big) resource hog. Here is comparison table, so it’s up to you to decide will you go for freeware (Home) edition, keygenned (Pro) edition, or some other antivir; after all it’s personal choice…

Description:

avast! 4 Professional Edition is a collection of award winning, high-end technologies that work in perfect synergy, having one common goal: to protect your system and valuable data against computer viruses. It represents a best-in-class solution for any Windows-based workstation.

Avast is nice, but misses a lot of things that Kaspersky detects.

Kaspersky has the highest detection rate out there at the moment.

I completely agree NOD32 is probably one of the best if not the best anti virus software on the market.

I use NOD32. Honestly speaking Avast is very good as well. I was using it for more than 2 years because I couldn’t get hold of a working user/pass for NOD32 until I found out you can get a patch that extends the demo by something like 1 million days.

    people always argue about av
i am always curious about the religious fervour of nod32 enthusiasts, who almost never know anything about computers

nod does have good detection rates [below kaspersky in all serious tests] but it suffers from a ridiculously cumbersome interface and is a resource hog

also, it is the worst for false positives, because it is insanely heuristic. with kaspersky you can adjust the heuristic [paranoia] level yourself

I’ve also been using Avast Home Edition for quite some time now, and I can say that I’m very happy with it. :D

wow, no command line scanner in free version. poor nerds, who think GUI are for helpless users, now need to get the PRO version.

NOD32 is the best, no doubt. It has the least false virus reports, is often updated twice daily to ensure the latest virus definitions, and has an incredibly low system resource usage. aydin is completely wrong. It also just secured its 47th Virus Bulletin award. It’s simply the best.

“i am always curious about the religious fervour of nod32 enthusiasts, who almost never know anything about computers”

I am always curious about the religious fervour of kaspersky enthusiasts, who almost never know anything about computers…
See how it is easy to insult? If you are asking a question then by all means do ask why NOD32 have such a reputation with the users. Useless comments like they “almost never know anything about computers” are as lame as they can get.

If you are wondering why i like NOD32 check here:

    http://www.av-comparatives.org/seiten/ergebnisse_2007_11.php

This is a test about “WILD virus” that were not in the database. I ask your attention to the “none” in false positive results for NOD32 with a 72% detection rate!!

Apparently us people who know nothing about computers know the difference between a smacking heuristics engine and a so-so engine.

    About virus in the database:

    http://www.av-comparatives.org/seiten/ergebnisse_2007_08.php

Wich places kaspersky a smacking less than 1% ahaead of NOD32…

    To sum it up:

    Heuristics:

    NOD32 71%
    Kaspersky 40%

    Database:

    NOD32 97.6%
    Kaspersky 98.46%

Both are the best and it’s a matter of personal choice. I prefer one that offers a very good protection of wild virus AND has a very solid database performance. NOD32 fits the bill here. About it’s interface it lacks polish i recognize. But contrary to what you think, i believe most NOD32 users do know enough about computers to use it and take the most out of it. People who don’t know nothing about computers usually complain about semi-useless stuff like “the interface”.

Oh and i forgot to say that the scaner is the faster i’ve used and i’ve tried many, including kaspersky. I don’t know what you’re on about it being a “resource hog”.

    19&20, good answers bro.

i use nod about once a week, and its just great proggy. kaspersky is also top notch, but nod is lighter&faster.

Ive used avast for a few years…always done a good job…recognise that there may be more than one good program out there. Ill stay true to Avast…its simple user interface combined with low system resource use makes it favourable for me…and they also recently managed to remove the annoying AV definition update voice…LAWL…

NOD and kaspersky are good too…go with any1 of those free and be safe…always wear a rubber… ;) alotta nasty virii out there…

who cares what av is better, there are some good ones out there, like kasp nod and avast….but the most important protection would be you. watch what u do on the net. reg-ing all over the place, download crap you think u can trust, use sh*t like msn to contact so called buddy’s surf without paying attention where u actually land…………

  35. Go get it
    December 8th, 2007 | 18:36

    Give it up people

Avast served me for years, i tried them all. But Avast remains supreme. Avast detects virus and attacks like a firewall does.

    @zenk u

i second that! all av’s just tools in helping us IF we make that one miss-step… ;-)

most of the time, it’s our action that protect us from those nasties….

btw… i’ll go with the av that don’t bother me and my work so much… LAWL
