AUTODESK 3D STUDIO MAX V2008-XFORCE

Autodesk 3D Studio Max (or 3DS Max), for all you people living under rocks, is a industry-leading 3D development tool, and is brought to us by XFORCE. With 3DS you can make anything your heart desires, from modelling to to rendering, and anything in between. This is a fairly large release (for 0day) weighing in at 165mb, and comes in 35 archives. Also included is a serial.txt with the required registration info.
From NFO: DOCS, HELP FILES, VIDEOS & ADD-ONS RIPPED, QUICK HELP included

Create rich and complex design visualization. Generate realistic characters for a top-selling game. Bring 3D effects to the big screen. Autodesk® 3ds Max® 2008 3D modeling, animation, and rendering software helps design visualization professionals, game developers, and visual effects artists maximize their productivity by streamlining the process of working with complex scenes.

Program Features:

  • Accelerated Performance
The integration of new technology into the software’s Adaptive Degradation System improves interactive performance by automatically simplifying scene display to meet a user-defined target frame rate. You control how 3ds Max adjusts scene display—whether the smallest objects are hidden, or distant objects have less detail, etc.—and 3ds Max calculates how best to achieve it. When combined with the new Direct3D® mesh caching that groups objects by materials, the result is that tens of thousands of objects can be just as interactive as ten objects. In addition, loading, arrays, Autodesk® FBX® and OBJ export, and other areas of the software perform significantly faster.
  • Review
This powerful new toolset gives you immediate feedback on various render settings, enabling you to iterate rapidly. This means you can now quickly hone in on your desired look without waiting for a software render—perfect for over-the-shoulder client/boss feedback sessions and other iterative workflows. Based on the latest game engine technology, Review delivers interactive viewport previews of shadows (including self-shadowing and up to 64 lights simultaneously), the 3ds Max sun/sky system, and mental ray® Architectural and Design material settings.
  • Artist-Friendly Modeling Options
3ds Max 2008 gives you a more streamlined, artist-friendly modeling workflow through a collection of hands-on modeling options that let you focus more on the creative process. These options include selection previewing and the ability to have existing modeling hotkeys and pivots become temporary overrides.
  • Biped Enhancements
This latest release provides you with new levels of flexibility with regard to your Biped rigs. A new Xtras tool lets you create and animate extraneous Biped features anywhere on your rig (for example, wings or additional facial bones) and save them as BIP files. These files are supported in Mixer and Motion Flow, as well as in Layers, where new layering functionality enables BIP files to be saved as offsets from each layer to isolate character motion. As a result, each layer can be saved as its own asset for export into a game.

System Requirements:

  • Intel® Pentium® IV or AMD Athlon® XP or higher processor
  • 512 MB RAM (1 GB recommended)
  • 500 MB swap space (2 GB recommended)
  • Hardware-accelerated OpenGL and Direct3D supported
  • Microsoft Windows-compliant pointing device (optimized for Microsoft IntelliMouse®)
  • DVD-ROM drive

Tried the trial long ago, all I could make were squares and triangles. I suck at this stuff and I really want to make something cool like guns blazing in a all out war between peanut butter and jelly.

Takes a long time to learn. Don’t expect to make anything cool the first months of learning. This is the coolest release I have seen here though. Wohoo!

I am intermediate using 3DS now… Can’t make huge complex models with skeletons, but I know my way around materials, modifiers and basic/medium modeling :/.

Great software… Still, it is more specialized for games although the way the program works applies to alot of 3D modeling apps. So if you want to try and get in there, then this is your best bet. Easier 2 learn compared to Maya and such.

@#13 It wasn’t our fault that the v7 keygen also worked for v8

Anyway, yes 3DSMax takes a long time to learn, as does any other 3d modelling software. However there are a shetload of tutorials (google ffs) for 3DSMax, Maya et al ranging from making boxes to rendering and animating.

The 3D industry however seems to be making a shift away from 3DSMax and more toward Maya (also now owned by Autodesk).

hardly an industry leading 3D development tool. Last time I heard, Lightwave was the app being used in over 50% of all media.

    finally some 3d news!
guess most people use maya or xsi for animation, and 3dmax for game developement.
but if you only need to model, use modo301. the best 3d modeler ever!

@38: Read the NFO. It’s ripped out from this release. This is only the software itself. If you want help files, docs, materials, etc, wait for the full DVD release. (shouldn’t be far away)

3ds max 2008 is great for the (few?) of us running Vista systems – it’s fully compatible! (v9 was as well with exp. packs but hey, it’s nice with new software)

    Hi,
to remove the problem with d3dx9_34.dll, simply download this file (GOOGLE) or copy it from your windows installation (search it) and the paste it into your 3ds max installation folder.
