It is with great sadness that I have to write this article. The rlslog family has lost a member brother, Sander van den Hout aka ‘Scit‘, one of the most popular staff members here on rlslog being with us for almost 1 year, committed suicide on Tuesday 15th of January 2008. He contributed to the site in so many ways, not just for the 83 excellent posts he wrote for rlslog but for his friendship, comradery and the jokes… good times. He can never be replaced. Our sincere condolences go out to Sanders family, girlfriend and friends, we cannot imagine what this must be like. See you on the other side my friend, my brother… Please honor his memory.

The Russian Newspaper “Russia today” reports that a member of a Russian gaming clan from the tastefully titled “Coo-clocks clan” murdered a rival member of the “Platanium” clan in the city of Ufa after virtual violence and arguments online spilled over into the real world.

The two groups had an online “fight” as it were in an unknown game (possibly Lineage II) at the end of December and this apparently lead to the groups arranging to meet up and have it out in real life. A 33 year old man only known as “Albert” from the “Platanium” clan was badly beaten and died of his injurys in the ambulance. The alleged assailant, a 22 year old man from the “Coo-clocks clan” apparently has shown no remorse, and refused to justify his actions. His fellow clan members in the Coo-clocks clan “continue to harass the family of the murdered man, threatening to kill his sister, who hasn’t turned on the computer for days”.

She later said; “I think they have confused the game and reality. And after we buried him [Albert] on 31 December, they continued to threaten us.”

The Platanium clan was mostly made up of experienced gamers over 30 while the Coo-clocks clan are mainly students in their twenties.

mVs are back again with nice little R5 of American Gangster. Seeing as a very clean DVDSCR was released a week or so before this film was shown in cinemas this R5 isnt to exciting but it does trump the DVDSCR in small areas that concern quality. This is slightly brighter and less washed. The audio sounds pretty much the same. If you haven’t watched this film yet even though there’s been a great copy out already now a great time to!

Synopsis: American Gangster” concerns Harlem drug kingpin Frank Lucas (Washington), who smuggled heroin in the body bags of U.S. soldiers slain in Vietnam. Brolin plays Det. Trupo, a crooked NYPD cop who piggybacks on the Lucas investigation conducted by Det. Ritchie Roberts (Crowe).

I really have no idea what this game is about, the release group 2xKiDS doesn’t provide any info or links and a Google search doesn’t turn up much either. As far as i can gather it appears to be a mystery type game aimed at kids. Not sure about the details but yea this could be something for the lil ones. Hopefully a few of you will find it useful. BTW these guys have some uber l33t sources… “Supplier…..: 8 year old dauhgter” hehe.

Note: Please don’t complain about rlslog only posting “crappy” games, it makes no sense. I can only post what the scene releases, the scene can only release what developers make and developers cant make AAA game titles all year. This is what has been released, we are not choosing to withhold the “good” games from you or whatever you may think.

SKIDROW back again with another compilation set of time passing games. This one titled License To Grill contains four ‘Crazy Chicken’ games which i personally have never played so cant really comment on them, but the developer says they are ‘Warning: Totally Addictive!’ Dunno if i believe them…
