After seeing the DVD9 on iNTERFiLM I was pretty excited to see this movie coming as R5 Scene release :). I hope it is as enjoyable as I want it to be. Remember guys if it really was that worthwhile buy the original DVD-R/BD!

Quality: Image quality is quite okay. Its not completely crystal clear but still very good. The audio sounds somewhat “unclean” you can hear some hissing. Its not too bad after all:

I am kinda surprised that nobody wrote an article about this brilliant soundtrack. So I am doing it, late but still better than not at all and btw. I cant stand these images of “Pawly Pets My Animal Hospital in Africa-SKIDROW & BACKLASH” on the main site

I haven’t been to the cinema yet, but judging from several opinions like my friends’ and critics’ it must be a good movie. And this soundtrack definitely proves it!

Zimmer originally said the main Batman theme was purposely introduced at the end of Batman Begins, and would be fleshed out in the sequel as the character develops. Zimmer and Howard both realized that creating a heroic theme that a viewer could hum would ignore the complexity and darkness of the character. That the heroic theme is audible only twice, early on in the film, creates what Zimmer described as a “red herring”, a kind of musical foreshadowing.

Their nine-minute suite for the Joker is based around two notes. Zimmer compares its style to the band Kraftwerk, who come from his native Germany, as well as his work with bands like The Damned. When Ledger died, Zimmer felt like scrapping and composing a new theme, but decided that he could not be sentimental and compromise the “evil [performance] projects”. Howard composed Dent’s “elegant and beautiful” themes, which would work as a contrast.

Iced Earth is an American heavy metal band that combine influences from thrash metal, power metal, progressive metal, opera, speed metal and NWOBHM. Iced Earth has been known to have a volatile and oft changing line-up. Founding member, songwriter, and rhythm guitarist Jon Schaffer being the only original member who has remained, handling nearly all of the songwriting and leading the band. Current vocalist Matt Barlow and former lead guitarist Randall Shawver are the next longest-tenured members, the only people besides Schaffer to have spent a full decade in the band. Shawver, the first lead guitarist to record with the band, joined in 1988 and remained until 1998. Barlow joined in 1994 and remained until 2003, when he was inspired by the September 11, 2001 attacks in the U.S. to leave the band and become a law enforcement officer. However, he returned to the group in late 2007. In 1999 Jon Schaffer teamed up with Blind Guardian vocalist Hansi Kürsch to form a side project called Demons & Wizards and have released two albums to date.

Motörhead are a British heavy metal band formed in 1975 by bassist, singer and songwriter Lemmy, who has remained the sole constant member. Usually a power trio, Motörhead had particular success in the early 1980s with several successful singles in the UK Top 40 chart. The albums Overkill, its follow on, Bomber, Ace of Spades, and particularly No Sleep ’til Hammersmith, cemented Motörhead’s reputation as one of Britain’s foremost heavy metal groups. Here we have Episode 03 of a “new” series called Flashpoint. To quickly sum it up for all our new readers: Basically its a television program about a special tactical team that rescues hostages, busts gangs, defuses bombs, and takes on other tough cases. Read about episode 01 and 02 here. If you ask me, its an interesting series, nothing special but still worthwhile to watch.

What a surprise! I was actually talking more or less about this album and the next moment a good friend of mine spammed me like crazy with the news, that QTXMp3 released this in the scene. Some of you may know that this was available as p2p release, but obviously with some random-lame encoding ;).

DragonForce was formed in 1999 from the remnants of the band Demoniac under the name of DragonHeart, but they changed their name to DragonForce before releasing any commercial albums due to possible issues with Brazilian band Dragonheart. Their career began with the publishing of their early songs on the first incarnation of MP3.com, claiming the top of the site’s heavy metal charts. The hit song “Valley of the Damned” reached over 500,000 downloads in the first few months. Two of the original members, Steve Williams and Steve Scott, left the band to form the power metal outfit Power Quest. Sam Totman also started a side project called Shadow Warriors featuring himself and ZP Theart. Sam has confirmed many times that Herman Li was not involved with Shadow Warriors.
