Highlander The Source R5 XviD-RUSH

A new highlander, a new screw up? I have only seen the original Highlander, which was freakin’ awesome by the way, because I heard nothing but criticism about all the sequels. I will have to check all of them out some day but I can’t start with this one of course. I just wonder how bad this movie is when considering the ration in which each new Highlander has had worse reviews and then taking into account that this is already the 5th Highlander movie. Also, nobody appears to even know of the existence of a 5th Highlander movie so info is very hard to find.

The world is falling into chaos. As he roams a crumbling city, Duncan MacLeod, the Highlander, remembers happier times before the love of his life left… Hopeless and alone, MacLeod finds his way to a band of immortal companions, including his mysterious friend Methos, and a mortal, Watcher Joe Dawson. Together this small group sets out on a quest to find the origin of the first Immortal and The Source of their immortality.

Ghost Rider CAM VCD-HYdRO *XVID ADDED*

Ghost Rider is another comic book taken to the big screen. Unfortunately I don’t think the Ghost Rider character is very good material for a movie, mainly because the flaming skull thing might look really bad ass in the comics but in live action with CGI it looks horrible! The bike on the other hand looks f****** amazingly cool. My look on the movie got totally screwed when I saw the trailer of this movie, and maybe you guys should do so too because it’s really…weird looking. But then again I hated Fantastic Four (I didn’t even watch the entire movie it just sucked so bad.) but there’s already a sequel for that so maybe this will do good for boxoffice charts just because of the amount of fans the comic book has.

In order to save his dying father, young stunt cyclist Johnny Blaze sells his soul to Mephistopheles and sadly parts from the pure-hearted Roxanne Simpson, the love of his life. Years later, Johnny’s path crosses again with Roxanne, now a reporter, and also with Mephistopheles, who offers to release Johnny’s soul if Johnny becomes the fabled, fiery Ghost Rider, a supernatural agent of vengeance and justice. Mephistopheles charges Johnny with defeating the despicable Blackheart, Mephistopheles’s nemesis and son, who plans to displace his father and create a new hell even more terrible than the old one.

We’re one step closer to QUANTUM COMPUTING!!

“Quantum computing has been threatening to kill off traditional digital computing for a long time now, with various scientific journals hailing its approach. Well, perhaps a few years earlier than we expected, the world has seen the first demonstration of a commercial grade quantum computer in action.

A quick primer: quantum computers don’t rely on bits to structure data. Instead, they work by assuming that the quantum properties of particles can be used to represent data structures. Rather than bits, these quantum data structures are called qubits. Since quantum computers deal with such tiny, tiny measurements and nuances - the behaviour of matter and energy at the subatomic scale - the potential for computing power is absolutely massive.

At least, I’m pretty sure that’s what Wikipedia says.

DWave Systems is a Canadian company, and they’ve built working hardware that computes at a quantum level. They’re running 16-bit qubit computations at the moment, but hope to expand that to 32-qubit by the end of the year.

To work, the hardware has to be chilled down to -273 degrees centigrade. That’s colder than outer space, and would make for a pretty decent Core 2 Duo overclock, we suspect.

“D-Wave’s breakthrough in quantum technology represents a substantial step forward in solving commercial and scientific problems which, until now, were considered intractable. Digital technology stands to reap the benefits of enhanced performance and broader application,” said Herb Martin, chief executive officer, according to DailyTech.

Because of the massive scale that quantum physics operates on, quantum computers are thought to be perfect for solving problems that are simply to great for traditional computers to operate on, such as life sciences and theoretical physics. In theory, a single quantum computer should be multiple times more powerful than the fastest supercomputer cluster in existence today.

It’s unlikely that we’re going to see quantum computers on the desktop any time soon, but it seems like Ray Kurtzweil’s theory of technological singularity, where machines are more intelligent than people, could be upon us.”

Well that sounds pretty freakin’ amazing. Just imagine what a completely different futuristic world we’ll all be living in in the near future. Just image the power of a couple of render-farms all in your budget priced desktop PC.  Just image how GPU’s could benefit from this as well. Think Crysis looks amazing? In about 20 years we’ll all be laughing our asses off in disbelieve that we ever thought something as hideous as Crysis was considered “amazing”.

Windows Vista - Voice Recognition

Just a quick note in between, this is not a release! I just found the correct drivers for my soundcard and I’ve set-up voice recognition. Oh My God! This has got to be the best thing since…(Was going to say sliced bread but that’s too clique nowadays) I guess since Windows. First we were all using keyboards, the came the mouse, and now the mouse is rendered useless. Of course you still need the mouse for applications that are not adjusted to Vista yet, not to mention games! For instance I am typing this… No cancel that, I am talking to the computer right now and the computer is inserting everything I am saying. How cool is that?? I do have to use notepad because it doesn’t support Firefox, at least not entirely I can browse of little but I can’t use tabbed browsing which is a major loss but I’m sure Microsoft as well as Mozilla are going to fix this soon. And also, I have to learn how to articulate better because sometimes it screws words up. Luckily it’s so incredibly easy to correct stuff that it hardly bothers me.

You can also just use voice recognition to work with Windows and other applications. Unreal 3 Engine also makes use of this advanced voice recognition system, UT2007 will heavily use it! Before you all flame the **** out of me: This is NOT the same voice recognition system used in Windows XP! It’s a lot more advanced!

If you have tried, or are currently using the new and improved voice recognition to move your way around Vista and Office 2007 leave your opinions in the comments! Who said Vista didn’t have any major improvements over XP? I can literally hold a snack in one hand and a can of soda in the other and still do my homework on my PC!

UPDATE: I totally forgot! Vista also supports multiple clocks (not the gadget). The RLSLOG time is GMT +1 so if we have a contest or something you can add a GMT +1 clock if you’re from a different time zone. Just hold your cursor over the time in the taskbar and you’ll see the date and your current time as well as the current time on the timezone you’ve set for the second clock (and the third clock if you added a third clock). Features like these are not even on the feature list of Vista, yet they’re incredibly useful! There really are too many to sum up and fully explain here.

Supreme Commander EMUDVD9-Unleashed

Supreme Commander is here! I’ve played the demo and I have to say it’s quite dissapointing. But then again I only play the exceptional RTS games like Company of Heroes and Soldiers: Heroes of World War 2. The game feels like Dune! That’s right, the very first RTS game ever. It all just feels static, whereas Company of Heroes has some amazing effects and cut-scenes that completely immerse you into the game. For all the other RTS gamers who might enjoy it though, here it is! Enjoy!

In the 37th Century, the galaxy is torn apart by three rival factions, each vying to eradicate its enemies from the universe, end the Infinite War and become the reigning power supreme. Supreme Commander represents the next evolution in the Real Time Strategy genre through its truly strategic and tactical gameplay and mind-blowing scale and scope, which is coupled with unrivalled zoom and control features.

Features:

  • Scale: Witness tiny assault bots get crushed underfoot by towering mega units, or watch as smaller attack bombers try in desperation to bring down a gigantic experimental unit.
  • Scope: Concentrate on individual ground battles or zoom all the way out in a single, seamless motion that reveals the full theatre of war. Plan and unleash multiple strategic attacks from this strategic vantage point.
  • Dominate your enemies by coordinating strategic ground, naval and air attacks. Initiate a crippling air strike with your attack bombers and support them with a ground assault of heavy and light artillery that demolish the opposing faction’s main base. Exterminate your foes once and for all by sinking their aircraft carriers with a surprise submarine attack.

System Requirements:

  • Microsoft® Windows® XP Service Pack 2, Vista
  • 1.8 GHz processor
  • 512 MB RAM

A Good Year DVDRip XViD-ViTE

Russel Crowe is starring in a new romantic comedy directed by Ridley Scott. This movie is one of those movies that is supposed to “mean something”. Russel Crowe is living life in the fast lane, forgetting about his past. Then one day he inherits some land and he returns and he falls in love. The fact that Russel Crowe is starring and Ridley Scott has directed it makes this movie stand out from all the other romantic comedies.

Oscar®-winner Russell Crowe reunites with “Gladiator” director Ridley Scott in A GOOD YEAR, a Fox 2000 Pictures presentation of a Scott Free production. London-based investment expert Max Skinner (Crowe) moves to Provence to sell a small vineyard he has inherited from his late uncle. Max reluctantly settles into what ultimately becomes an intoxicating new chapter in his life, as he comes to realize that life is meant to be savored.

A GOOD YEAR is based on the best-selling novel of the same name by Peter Mayle. (Mayle and Ridley Scott, who are longtime friends, together came up with the idea for the novel.) Scott produces from a screenplay by Marc Klein. The film also stars the esteemed Albert Finney as Max’s late Uncle Henry, who imparts wisdom to his young nephew; Marion Cotillard (”A Very Long Engagement”) as a café owner who catches Max’s eye; Abbie Cornish (”Sommersault”) as Max’s supposed long-lost cousin, who may hold the vineyard’s title rights; Tom Hollander (”Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest”) as his best friend; and Freddie Highmore (”Finding Neverland”) as the young Max.

Confident and cocky, headstrong and handsome, Max Skinner is a successful London banker who specializes in trading bonds. A financial barracuda on the banks of the Thames, Max devours the competition in his efforts to conquer the European market. His latest conquest has netted a tidy seven-figure profit, much to the chagrin of his Saville Row-draped rivals. Max’s triumph is in perfect keeping with his philosophy: winning isn’t everything, it’s the only thing!

Alpha Dog 2006 R5 xVID-LRC

The R5 of Alpha Dog is released, now I can finally watch this movie. Sure R5 isn’t DVD quality but hell if I can get it WAY before the official region 1 DVD release I think this kind of quality is a luxury. Alpha Dog has been on RLSLOG multiple times so there is no point re-re-explaining everything. Click here for the CAM post.

A difficult gestation period led to Nick Cassavetes’s ALPHA DOG being delayed and facing possible legal battles after the real-life subject of the film (alleged kidnapper and murderer Jesse James Hollywood) objected to his portrayal. The cinematic version of Hollywood is named Johnny Truelove and played by Emile Hirsch (LORDS OF DOGTOWN). Truelove is a wild 18-year-old who deals drugs for a living and hangs out with his posse, who revolve around a core of Frankie (Justin Timberlake), Elvis (Shawn Hatosy), and Tiko (Fernando Vargas). When a client of Truelove’s, Jake Mazursky (Ben Foster), is unable to pay off his crystal-meth debt, the group kidnaps his 15-year-old stepbrother, Zack (Anton Yelchin), who becomes a Patty Hearst-like accomplice in his own abduction. Indeed, Zack positively revels in his new position, and lives it up with the boys at every opportunity he gets. But Cassavetes’s film really revs into gear as the cops close in on Truelove’s band of outsiders, and they face a tough decision about what to do with Zack.

The real draw here is Justin Timberlake, and he makes a decent job of his role as a bodyguard/friend to the kidnapped kid. Covered in tattoos and oozing testosterone, Timberlake revels in his role, and his female following will find plenty to gush over here. The film itself is executed at a lightning-fast pace, with quick jump cuts and on-screen captions that point out who the witnesses in the case were. Cassavetes plays around with split-screen techniques and nonlinear storytelling, but he remains acutely aware of what his young target audience is seeking from a modern crime drama, not letting the tension drop for a second. Small roles for Sharon Stone and Bruce Willis provide suitable support to the young cast, and a thumping rap and metal soundtrack supplies a perfect backdrop to the explosive on-screen shenanigans.
