Oh hello, our animated friends Boog and Elliot are back! It’s a STV movie so you gotta wonder about the quality…of the movie, of course, not the release. Guys from SEPTiC are on top of their game. Now apparently there has already been a XviD release by CaRRe, but it’s nowhere to be seen so I guess we will strike that one as a dud. Why not go for top quality straight away?…

Boog and Elliot are back for more crazy adventures. And a few hours after the 720p release we get the standard XviD for those who don’t fancy using a lot of traffic. It’s long time, no see from ViTE, a great old skool group. They messed up this release a little because it is already nuked for “gmc.not.allowed” (Global Motion Compression). In fact, it’s almost a whole year to the day since they released Halloween and it was nuked for the same reason, spooky that. Up to you if you want to wait for REPACK or PROPER…

After the dark brilliance of No Country for Old Men, Burn After Reading may seem like a trifle, but few filmmakers elevate the trivial to art quite like Joel and Ethan Coen. Inspired by Stansfield Turner’s Burn Before Reading, the comically convoluted plot clicks into gear when the CIA gives analyst Osborne Cox (John Malkovich) the boot. Little does Cox know his wife, Katie (Tilda Swinton, riffing on her Michael Clayton character), is seeing married federal marshal Harry (George Clooney, Swinton’s Clayton co-star, playing off his Syriana role). To get back at the Agency, Cox works on his memoirs. Through a twist of fate, fitness club workers Linda (Frances McDormand) and Chad (Brad Pitt in a pompadour that recalls Johnny Suede) find the disc and try to wrangle a “Samaratin tax” out of the surly alcoholic. An avid Internet dater, Linda plans to use the money for plastic surgery, oblivious that her manager, Ted (The Visitor’s Richard Jenkins), likes her just the way she is. Though it sounds like a Beltway remake of The Big Lebowski, the Coen entry it most closely resembles, this time the brothers concentrate their energies on the myriad insecurities endemic to the mid-life crisis–with the exception of Chad, who’s too dense to share such concerns, leading to the funniest performance of Pitt’s career. If Lebowski represented the Coen’s unique approach to film noir, Burn sees them putting their irresistibly absurdist stamp on paranoid thrillers from Enemy of the State to The Bourne Identity.

Now this is interesting, a BluRay release before DVDRip pre, I seriously can’t remember last time that happened. It’s actually more shocking than a 720p release of a TV show before XviD, that occurs nearly every other night. The cast is great, the rating on both IMDB and RT leaves no doubts and visual and acoustic quality of the pre is nothing to scoff at. I’ll be grabbing this one ASAP, will you?…

Well well well, to kick off the weekend, we have this awesome, 3 weeks before retail, release of another Jason Statham movie that is rated very nicely on IMDB. I remember watching ALLiANCE’s DVDSCR couple of months ago and quality of this pre is superb. It’s UNRATED so you get about 6 minutes extra footage, 2CD release with great video and a kick-ass audio. The only step up would be the HD versions, bring ‘em on I say…

Nope, this isn’t a DIY video or a “…for Dummies” equivalent, it’s a sad story of a student who decided to live the high life for a year and managed to spend stupendous amount of money in a very short while. So he’s like Paris Hilton or similar. aAF seem to pre quite a few UKTV shows these days, looks like they managed to recruit a capper there, the more content the better I say…

Documentary telling the story of Lee Barnes, a student who took the banks at their word and helped himself to 40,000 pounds of their credit in just over a year. Lee shows how he got away with it, how he went on the run and how finally he decided to give himself up. The big question now is whether he does or does not go bankrupt.
