you understand it wrong. of course the scene makes money off of their releases, whether its from selling the releases directyl, ad revenue from sites, stolen data from the trojans they implant, spam revenue, or even if they simply try to work their “skills” into an IT job.

but they definitely aren’t doing it “just for the hell of it”

But I have been looking at iTel, check them out for unlimited net. Good prices, unsure on quality of unlimited but you never know .

I have dodo unlimited 512… If only I got 1500 while it was around.
They don’t offer it anymore – and it is COMPLETELY unlimited unlike all those random “unlimited” providers that say it is but it just shapes at a point. So dog.

It is only 50 a month… I want 1500 Unlimited though….

@ nuzz… who do u get your unlimited net through i have a 40 gig limit and i keep using it up and getting shaped to dial up speeds for a week or more and im getting sick of it??

if i burn stuff for mates usually they give me the dvd they need, even though i would probably use mine anyway.. its on the rare occasion someone offers me money… i dont ask anyone for it…. but surprisingly no one out there seems to be morally offended by Internet piracy… my dad is always getting stuff from me lol..

but i have numerous reasons why i pirate mainly due to the fact i cannot afford to pay 30 bucks for each new dvd or cd or 15 bucks to see a movie at a cinema…….

I sell em for 5$ because that isn’t alot of money, and for some reason they seem to want to pay me it.

Most of the ppl I give a DVD to with some that on it always have payed me for it – as they cannot get it them selfs they feel that $5 is by far cheaper, and I am just happy if they want to part with their 5 bucks like that :/.

In AUS getting unlimited internet is almost an impossibility. I have it and I am exploiting it. My friends are happy to throw me a 5$ bill for my troubles.
At one point I didn’t charge, but the lack of DVDs and the time it took to actually burn the DVD (10 – 20 Mins a DVD depending on write speed – to ensure data consistency). SO thought, hey, I don’t want to burn any more of these things, but my friends knew I had the movies/games and wanted em. So I charged them cash so I could buy another pack of 50 DVDs.

Im not a crim for doing that. Im not doing it anymore anyway… I fear too many people know about this little trading thing I have going. Im burning the evidence as we speak! Ehem… Lol.
Just thought you might be interested in my little story. (Completely FICTIONAL – THEORIZED SCENARIO)

You didn’t appear to think at all before posting this story and for some unknown reason associating it with P2P users.

The AFP arrests a lot of people for fraud. That’s their job. Why is that of interest to anyone?
Earning your living by selling pirated CDs would also have just as much in common with P2P users that the guy passing forged bank cheques would that the AFP arrested last week.
Was that another case of a crackdown on P2P users too?

Everything you just said basically makes you a crim, and whats worse……it makes you a scab.

$0.80 for dvd and cover in Oz
time – burning is very taxing
delivery – dont you see “your friends” socially anyway, or is your time that important that you charge your friends to visit them.
download – So you werent going to download that for your “personal use” anyway? If not, you were downloading for personal gain anyway, which once more, makes you a scab if you sell it.

Selling for profit is bad. Especially in the hard market that is Australian country.

I have limited funds to reward the artists. I do however go to the movies a lot with my partner and children, and support my favorite artists buy purchasing there music dvds and going to their gigs once in a while. The artists are not losing my money, i simply can not afford to buy more media.

So plz stfu anti-piracy spokes people.

I actually tend to burn DVDs with either a few movies or games on them and sell em for $5 to friends.

Lol I don’t put advertising up anywhere or anything, and I know I probably should stop with the paying – but it is not for the actual material I want the money for, but the DVD and the burning + time + delivery + download time.

$5 a DVD is just like some extra pocket money, I admit I have clocked up $300 and spent it all the same, but yeah nobody seems to care that it is completely illegal when I sell it to them.

Still it is among friendlies, which I have warned not to tell others, so I should be sweet. LOL, country music, very nice -_-.

from what i understand, those groups that put out releases do it for the shear fact of doing it and being able to do it well, all their stuff is paid for by outside affiliations, friends of friends who happen to work certain places get them in the loop and get them new material, and they try to do the best they can with it before anyone else gets wind of it

i definitely agree on that, i would kinda think of it as going to a ball game and paying for cheap seats, then quietly slipping down as far as you possibly can lol…you enjoyed it, you paid a small deal for it, but you get more out of it by going to better seats that are empty

These movies and music aint free they aint public domain they are stealing you/we are stealing wither you want to call it free or not its all theft and yes money is made from it.I don’t think for 1 min the groups make zero money from there rips thats stupid we are all theifs thats all i was getting at.
