Honestly I feel sorry for those who would even consider taking up this service. My friend has something similar to this implemented by his parents and he can’t even play games…

What’s more is I attend a public High School in NSW and almost every useful site on the internet is blocked, even the teachers agree. At one stage we couldn’t even visit Google!!

IMHO, as a parental option, that rocks. As a government forced mandate, that sux..

I’ve a choice to block sites from my kids, and as the network admin in my home I do.. However, I am a free, adult over 40. If I want to ‘walk down a dark alley’ it’s my choice..

Nen, you have a good point. However, if you always live your life with paranoia about the government and censorship, it will suck. There should be a medium somewhere between complete freedom and censorship, at least in my opinion.

Censorhsip is being considered by many countries, and this is the worng direction to take. Today its porn, later its political views and who knows what else.

This is FREE software that will be given to parents. It has nothing to do with people who still want to access sites like this.

My current ISP gives me ADSL2+ speeds (11,657/kps) with 50GB of downloads per month, with no peering and no p2p throttling or traffic blocking.

Any Americans commenting on here, need to do their research first. Australia is one of the most free and liberal countries on the planet.

It’s OPTIONAL. Which means most people shouldn’t have a huge problem with it. Parents are already allowed to control most things (as it is their right) and so why shouldn’t this be allowed to make their lives a bit easier? Of course it can be abused, misused, too controlled, etc, etc, but you could say the same for almost anything. While I don’t believe in censoring most things, there are certain things and people who parents want to shield or warn their children about.

Only people i see would complain about it is horny lil 12 yr old kids who want their porn but aint getting it.

There is really nothing to complain about,you dont have to have it. they aint FORCING you to have it. Either take it or leave it.

this could have a good benefit, every time you get one of those annoying adware programs that take about 200+ steps to remove you could get the address that the ads are from blocked….
