Auction Auto Bidder v6.1.588-TE

It’s not that easy thing to win an auction on eBay - at least for beginners who don’t really know how it all works. However, there are many applications which can make your shopping on eBay much more user-friendly. Auction Auto Bidder is one of them and according to few reviews, it does its work pretty well, so you can give it a try.

Auction Auto Bidder automatically places your bids in the last seconds of an auction, ensuring no one will try to outbid you which means the price stays low and your chances of winning stay high. Auction Auto Bidder can also import watched items from ebay, supports bid groups and works as a fully featured tabbed Web browser optimized to make browsing the eBay Web site easier. The program supports multiple eBay accounts and can be used on any computer for a single purchase price. It also fully supports international eBay Web sites.

Version 6.1 adds ability to set notification of specified activied on items, thumbnail pictures appear in the items list to make recognizing items easier, and other minor enhancements.

Program features:

  • Set event notifications for items (new bids, available quantity changes, specified amount of time left, price exceeds specified amount)
  • Notifications of sellers with poor feedback or who do not accept PayPal in built in browser
  • Import watched auctions from “my eBay”
  • Bid group support (group several auctions of an item you want, and the software will automatically attempt to win one after the other in the group until one of them is won at your maximum bid or less, and then cancels the bids on the other items in the group, this prevents you from having to wait and see if you are outbid and then find another item)
  • Built in tabbed web browser (open multiple web pages and switch between them in a single click)
  • Thumbnail photo of items shown in list to help easily recognize items without having to read titles
  • Shipping cost shown in item list
  • Favorites menu allows you to add your favorite pages such as searches, sellers, or any other webpage
  • New easier to use interactive items list with one click access to all options
  • Powerful list filter option allows you to apply one or more filters too see only the items you want (bidding, won, ended, etc. including any combination)
  • Fully supports using international eBay websites
  • Ability to leave notes for items

Is this one of those progs that allow snarfing of your details back to homebase alpha, so that you end up sitting with a bill for unknown purchases? :(

No independent reviews on their site? And their homepage looks like crap too, can you trust these fellas?

And what is the sense of a program like this when everyone is doing it? The advantages are nullified and you probably get your account info hijacked by some russian programmer, awesome

What’s the use of such “auto-bidding” programs anyway? eBay’s bidding system is automatic: you enter the maximum amount you’re willing to bid, and automatically increases your bid (by small increments) only when someone tries to outbid you,. It is a second-priced auction, a sealed-bid auction, a Vickrey auction, whatever you call it, it makes this program REDUNDANT and useless in what it claims: “the price stays low and your chances of winning stay high”

    Charm:

The point is not bidding until the last second means there is less chance of the price rising quickly before it is due.

If I place a 15dollar bid on a game two days before it finishes, there is more chance someone may try to big higher then me and push up the price.

If I place my sniper to put a 15 dollar bid 2 seconds before auction close i am more likely to get if for a lower price

    @13 “Charm”,

Obviously there is a lot of great use for programs like this. I’ve used web-based bidnapper just for the snipe bid thing. And I have my ebay account registered with them so the snipe can be placed on.

Never heard of any ebay account stole from any of this many websites offering similar services. Can’t imagine how doing it from your own pc might be more dangerous if you take the minimum precautions.

Glad to hear sustained arguments about safety issues that go beyond generic fears of…

    Take your chances. Be careful

Not true. I’ve used JBidwatcher a number of times and followed many auctions with it.

In some auctions, people bid manually and wait until the last minute to do so. If everyone sticks their maximum bids in early the price goes straight up to the highest bid; buyers do not want to pay their maximum price, they want to pay the lowest price they can get away with. So people lurk until the final minute, at which point they are fighting to win by increasing in modest amounts trying to win without putting in too high a bid.

In auctions like that where people scramble at the end to bid, you can have an advantage by getting in there 3 seconds before the end time!

    @14 Bob:
From what you’re saying it looks like a listing with 1 bid at $15 has more chance of “inviting” bidders than one with 0 bids at $15. Once someone starts to bid the prices are driven up last min, but if nobody starts then it is left unsold. This means that bidders are attracted to auctions with bidders.
Sounds irrational to me, but perhaps there are indeed people who find joy and thril in oubidding others, so it’s not about the price anymore. In this case I guess such prog might be useful to avoid this kind of irrational people.

Snipe bidding is 100% rational and related to consumer surplus.
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Consumer_surplus

Auctions with a lot of early bidders are more likely to reach the price where there is 0 consumer surplus. Pleople try to win the auctions at a lower price as possible, so they place their bids at bargain price and keep moving them up as the auction goes on untill they reach their maximum and win or quit.

By placing your bargain or maximum and only bid 1,2,3 seconds prior to auction end you are increasing the odds of exploring your consumer surplus.

I have a program like this called Auction Sentry (it’s a little more basic) but it really does work. It synchronises your system time with ebay time, warns if your potential bid has been exceeded and will place a bid up to 2 seconds before close.

The only problem is that it has to be constantly updated as ebay constantly changes it’s access protocols. If you have a cracked version of this it seems unlikely that it will allow updates from the maker.

  27. Whats up?
    April 24th, 2008 | 15:49

Hey whats up with Rlslog… I have to visit through a proxy server now or the site wont work?

    Anyone else having problems?

Or have I been banned for being bad?

  28. -_-
    April 24th, 2008 | 16:36

Prob best to just do it yourself. Quite easy. Never lost an auction of something I really wanted.

@28, I wouldnt be surprised if your internet is being ‘censored’. There are many countries doing this already with MAJOR plans for it in US and less harsh measures in certain parts of EU. As always, they cant block traffic run through proxies… unless proxy is being censored…

I used to haye these ppl that waited to the last second to bid, i would be like “Hellz yeah i’m getting this Ram for like $50 under MSRP” Hit refresh bam i lost like with 0 seconds on the timer. Now i use programs like these to actually win stuff now. THX RLSLOG

@Charm: If someone bids on an item and you raise the bid, chances are they will rise their bid again and so on until the price is very high. If you wait to raise the bid until seconds before the auction ends, chances are they won’t have time to raise again. Simple logic really - dunno where you get the idea of people outbidding just for fun?

    @Zen: Guess you’re a seller on eBay? ;-)

    Snipe bidding is dumb.

Your initial bid should be the maximum you are willing to bid. EBay auto-increments for you.

  37. nailed
    April 24th, 2008 | 22:31

Anyone who thinks bid sniping is dumb needs to think again. The entire goal of sniping is to eliminate the emotional need some buyers have to win an auction. Let’s say there’s a DVD I’m willing to buy for $15. If I put in an early bid, some Joe Schmoe who was initially willing to only bid $12 may drive the bid beyond $15 just to win the auction. If I snipe at the last second, I completely avoid getting in a bidding war with Joe Schmoe.

And don’t even get me started on shill bidding.

    38. nailed 100% right. I figure total price I would pay, then minus shipping, and drop that bid in with 2-0 sec’s to go. Won a lot, lost a few,(early placed max bid) but totally eliminated all the clueless Joes from schnibbling my “early placed EBay auto increased maximum bid” just so they look like they are winning with 5 days to go. Schnibbling is raising a bid at the smallest increment until you’re the winning bid. I usually get a good price and shipping comes out of the sellers share of my max bid. 1 shot win or lose.
