Well known group SiNNERS bring us HD DVD (one of the last big titles from HD DVD camp) rip of English war drama Atonement. Film received many awards including one Oscar for best music and BAFTA Award for best movie. Movie is average English war romance flick but there are some nice scenes and music is pretty good so it definitely worth watching on your HDTV with 5.1 surround.

Joe Wright, the BAFTA Award-winning director of “Pride & Prejudice,” has reunited with his filmmaking team and his Academy Award-nominated actress, Keira Knightley, for another classic British romance, starring James McAvoy (BAFTA Award nominee for “The Last King of Scotland”) opposite Ms. Knightley. Christopher Hampton (Academy Award winner for “Dangerous Liaisons”) has written the screenplay adaptation of Ian McEwan’s best-selling 2002 novel Atonement. Shot on location in the U.K., the film’s story spans several decades. In 1935, 13-year-old fledgling writer Briony Tallis (Saoirse Ronan) and her family live a life of wealth and privilege in their enormous mansion.

On the warmest day of the year, the country estate takes on an unsettling hothouse atmosphere, stoking Briony’s vivid imagination. Robbie Turner (Mr. McAvoy), the educated son of the family’s housekeeper, carries a torch for Briony’s headstrong older sister Cecilia (Ms. Knightley). Cecilia, he hopes, has comparable feelings; all it will take is one spark for this relationship to combust. When it does, Briony - who has a crush on Robbie - is compelled to interfere, going so far as accusing Robbie of a crime he did not commit. Cecilia and Robbie declare their love for each other, but he is arrested - and with Briony bearing false witness, the course of three lives is changed forever. Briony continues to seek forgiveness for her childhood misdeed. Through a terrible and courageous act of imagination, she finds the path to her uncertain atonement, and to an understanding of the power of enduring love.

    The only problem with this movie is that it’s fairly dry. Of course that’s because it’s an almost perfect rendition of the original novel. So, a good movie, but if your not into British costume dramas, maybe not your cup of tea.

    Keira Knightley is an attractive girl, but dammit she needs to eat some food. I like ‘fit’, but she’s beyond that and just doesn’t even look healthy.

    If you look at her red carpet pictures, it looks like she has a huge head on a tiny skeleton. Not attractive at all, which is sad because she looked awesome in the Pirates movies. at least the first one.

    Zomac, no it isn’t. It’s really well crafted. If the subject or style of movie bores you that okay too. I watch almost a hundred movies a year, maybe more. The acting was top notch, the filming was excellent, but the best part was the story. There were so many subjects that the story covered it was really thought provoking. I don’t think we get more than a handful of truly unique and well rounded movies released a year, but this is one of them. Totally worth the download.

    Fantastic film. I loved it and cried at the end, the ending is so very, very sad and ‘average romatic film’ is an insult to the film. This was one of the best films of last year.

    Also can we have a ban for poster number one so he can “hey” elsewhere?

    Is it real 720p (1280px*720px)?

    To anyone who hasn’t seen it: there’s is nothing average about this movie. If you don’t enjoy dramas however, you should probably skip it.

    ‘Extremely Overrated’?? Might be a bit of exaggeration there, too. I think with the right sensibilities, English Patient is one hell of a movie, in fact. I doubt it touches English Patient though. EP was a little slow for a 15 year old perhaps, but it was BEST F**KING PICTURE, boyz.

    @Dorje: no need for extra subs, they are included in the MKV (as indicated in the NFO).

    Anyway you wouldn’t find a valid subs file at the link given by operil.

    I’m hardly a chubby chaser, I like girls that are relatively thin if anything, but she looks horrible at times. Ten pounds or so would make her look a hell of a lot better, and she’d actually have some tits again like she used to.
