I use this kind of DJ software a lot in live environments and this version of VDJ I think is vastly improved, has some quite powerful features (though I'd recommend having the video permanently disabled) and seems much more robust, Traktor has gone bloatware with a horrible design ever since the horrible v3 came out (even though it never crashed on me live)

Deckadance is not bad but actually I am going to use this from now on

What Jack is saying is that the serial code is written in the NFO file included in the release. You need to open and read that file to gain the information you seek.

Good luck, we're all counting on you.

@Bolt656

..indeed, and i am "mostly" a vinyl man but i figured since i dont have a spare £8000 for a vinyl press to press my own tunes i`ve made then Final Scratch is the best way of getting my material into my mixes without getting into CD decks, as back when i bought FS, the CDJ1000 were the best CD decks on the market... and were still no where near tactile enough for me, but with the Numark & Technics models now FS is somewhat redundant, but i find its still the best way to attain the same tactile control over the mix, that is STILL lacking with jog-wheels no matter what CD deck there on...

@Dr Gonzo
Well if you're going to get technical .. why bother with digital? Just use your decks! Why even bother with FS? Thats like me hooking up my Pioneer CDJ-1000 MK3's and then playing out of an ipod.. an insult to the Pioneers!

@Carlos

I would say Traktor, Deckadance .. and thats it. Vurtual Dj with its animated turntables is more gimmy/joke than being serious. Earlier versions you couldn't even cue or monitor with them - hardly appropriate for a club environment! Plugins and all that are well and good, but after a while - how much more can you use? The last thing you need is a cluttered interface when DJing live. This same reason is why Traktor now is going down hill in my opinion. They have covered the interface with so much stuff - you have to be careful with mouse clicks. Yeah sure you can remoev units you dont want, but you shouldnt have to. Its like every year they cram more and more features into your desktop resolution. Having said that - Traktor is still the most rock solid for a professional environment. PCDJ could have been the next big thing. They were first on the block but they just don't seem to give a crap anymore - so for that reason, they won't be anywhere.

You can tell the best software packages by which famous DJ's are using them - Traktor and Deckadance have their share .. the rest? exactly!
