Ashampoo UnInstaller 3 v3.0.0.0-TE

Ashampoo UnInstaller is as its name says (better) alternative application installer/uninstaller. If you need few more options when you uninstalling some app, give it a try.

Description:

Don’t you hate it that Windows gets slower and slower the longer you use it? One of the main reasons for this is that software is almost never uninstalled completely. Most application programs don’t provide enough information for the Windows Add/Remove Programs tool to be able to uninstall them properly. So every time you test a program and then remove it you have a little more junk left over clogging up your computer. After a while your Windows operating system is like a back yard full of rusty bicycles, old beer cans and broken bathtubs.

Ashampoo UnInstaller 3 removes programs from your system without a trace, allowing you to test software with confidence because you know it’s not going to “dirty” your computer. It makes this easy, monitoring the installation of new programs automatically and enabling you to remove them completely with a couple of clicks.

Man RLSLOG’s Ad campaign effin sucks. I can’t believe that a site that offers free files has to resort to forcing your browser into Ads. I had to change to IE7 to stop from crashing. thx alot guys (obviously no girls otherwise you would have real lives) at rlslog.

go ahead and permban me if you want for being rude. I’m drunk and not stoned right now wich makes a lethal combination. I’ll just get a new yahoo address if you do. Otherwise please poster of this file tell us why you had to resort to the most intrusive crappy ad spamming possible?

LUL just noticed for the first time that this site has ads. If they are bothering you, do something about them.

On another note, what can this program do that ccleaner can’t?

CCleaner is not an uninstaller. However, there are freeware uninstallers that are just as good as this, Revo Uninstaller for example.

this app is a second rate solution to not downloading and installing crap in the first place. Proper browsing habits are the key to efficiency. And once again, there is the simple logic that if you want to make your system faster, don’t add more stuff, take it away.

Of course, since I’m a militant ubuntu user, I’ll just type
“sudo apt-get purge ” and never worry about anything. For you non-*nixers, yes, there are 3 other GUI ways to do this, ranging in complexity.

    I AGREE WITH #9

Firefox with the addon Adblock is very excellent.

For uninstalling I use Your Uninstaller. Is this one any better?

This is one of the uninstallers that has been around the longest I use it whenever I wanna try out a piece of software I don’t know about (eg is a piece a crappy code with all sorts of unwanted nags) This thing has worked properly doing that taking out all traces of a prog for me without stuffing the registry (esp shared dll’s n such) since about 1997 so I’ve never bothered with anything else.
When Ashampoo started publishing it they put on all sorts of extras which I’ve never even tried. I just use the basic bit it takes a snapshot of my system b4 I install, then another afterwards and it draws up a log of changes and if I wanna get the shareware out I load that log and reverse the changes. It worked on many many progs stayed up to date with 95, 98se, n XP versions n never caused a problem. I dunno or care whether it does Vista.

With this one u save the registry before and after u install a new program.
Very easy to remove ALL traces of the installed program later if u wish.
Ordinary cleaners DO NOT remove all traces of a program from the registry..

the best and i mean best uninstaller app is Total Uninstall. this proggy monitors your installation so that it knows what new files were created and registry items added.

Ads ? FireFox + AdBlock Plus + NoScript and you will be surprised if you see an ad again :)

    Anyway…
The *best* way to get rid of installed programms, is to *virtualize* them. The best (and free) tool for this is Altiris SVS. It surely needs some little bit of training for your brain , but at the end it will remove ANYTHING the installed program DOES. It doesn’t take registry-snapshots - it “records” the whole computer like a VCR !
After install you only need to start your app to capture its settings and (newly created) regitry-keys. At the end you need to get rid of Windows-related settings (Cache, TEMP-dir, some HKLM/HKCU keys) and you get a *perfectly* captured file you can (un)install whenever you need it.
I *never* used any uninstaller since I “captured” nearly 90% of my tools with that.
90% only ? Yes, drivers can’t be captured and services needs more work. For example: Nero, DAEMON-Tools and AnyDVD are three of the tools not captured by SVS, because they bring their own drivers with them ;)
Everything else, from Browser to Photoshop, is running as a SVS-virtualized file, leaving *absolutely* no traces in the registry and HDD after deactivating/uninstalling.

    Beware… this tool needs Brain-Update 1.2 ! It doesn’t work with n00bs ;)

CrapCleaner is free. It cleans temp files, the registry, and also has an uninstall utility thats much faster than using control panel - add/remove prog.

    and its FOOKEN free.

I am always amazed by the amount of IDIOTS there are everywhere you look!

Now about the program…may be useful as long as there are no TSR’s running. I’ll try it and see how well it works then delete it if it’s the usual with this kind of app.

Does it use itself to magically unistall it or will it fill my PC with its crap when uninstalling?

    Firefox + Adblock Plus RULEZ!

I have used Ashampoo Uninstaller for years and it did a good job but not perfect. It would leave entries in the Registry and files and folders on the harddrive.

Then I installed Total Uninstall 4.x and it did a more thorough job than Ashampoo, so it is my installer/uninstaller application. It also did a better job of monitoring changes to an installed app AFTER installation (have to have the Total Uninstall Agent load at boot). It also handled installed application updates better. I think it also gave more data on files prior to their being deleted during an uninstall so that I could make a more informed decision on whether to keep it or delete it.

Have not tried the new version 3.x of Ashampoo Uninstaller. Maybe it will be as good or better than Total Uninstall.

Your Uninstaller does NOT do what Ashampoo Uninstaller or Total Uninstall do, according to the info on Your Uninstaller’s website.

Your Uninstaller will never be able to remove as much as the other two because it is only an uninstall routine with a database that does not take into account the unique and/or total changes made on every person’s harddrive during and after an app is installed.

Your Uninstaller is not a similar app or a replacement for the other two if you want to more completely and automatically want to remove an app.

Crap Cleaner doesn’t monitor registry changes or files installed, nor changes to these over time. This is why it can’t be 100% effective as an uninstaller. Still, a good free application nonetheless.
