So many tools to convert downwards, but what tool (as simple to use as possible) for converting divx/xvid to svcd or something that can be played on MOST dvd players?

best bet, go to walmart and for $30 bucks buy a dvd player that says divx on it.
if that is no possible, i know nero can convert it, but the size goes way way up.

What is the big attraction to converting videos to DVD format? I mean sure, it’s nice to watch them on a TV, but when you consider that a single-pass, low-quality conversion takes anywhere from 1-3 hours on a mid-range system and a two-pass, high-quality conversion can easily take 5-6 hours for a single movie, it hardly seems worth it.
can this program convert x264 files to dvd/avi/xvid ?
19. Not anymore. My laptop will convert and burn a standard movie with ConvertXtoDVD in under 45 mins.

good old shrink is still the best transcoder out there…and its free…same as nero recode except recode is faster…or just use an encoder if you want better quality

works but for some reason did not have any sound what so ever.
it works but takes 2.5 hours to convert and burn where convertXtoDVD only takes an hour does exactly the same as converXtoDVD and DVDshrink. so why pay for it when the others are on the public domain FREEEEEEEEEE
