Ashampoo Burning Studio v7.20-TE
Finally some decent app. TE released new version of this nice burning application. In my opinion it’s one of the best (commercial) Nero alternatives! Give it a try.
Description:
Since its initial release, Ashampoo Burning Studio has changed the way CD/DVD/Blu-ray burning software works. Instead of spending frustrating hours learning how to use hundreds of complicated functions you just select a task – for example “Burn Files”, “Backup Files” or “Burn Movies” – and then the program guides you through all the necessary steps.
You just choose your format, select your files and burn your disc. It really is that easy, but easy doesn’t mean you get less functionality: Advanced burning functions are also available for experienced users who want to choose specific file systems or use special boot images.

Release Name: Ashampoo.Burning.Studio.v7.20-TE

Yay! Thanks a lot! Been waiting for the new version.
will give it a try. personally i use dvd decrypter becuase its free but that doesnt matter since we have the scene but also because it can create iso files, demux vobs, join vobs and a lot of other things that most apps cant do.
RS Links?
yea theres a rapidshare link right there
was using ashampoo burning soft for ages IMO kicks nero ass
DoH, I see now.
This software beats Nero, truly. Every Nero user should consider trying this app. Ashampoo Burning Studio is simple and does perfectly its job.
If you’re used to burning or sick of Nero (too heavy), then give it a try.
I personally find this to be not only unreliable (toasted several dvd’s from errors) but a major resource hog as well.
imo, stay away from it.
btw, nero v8 isn’t too great either. staying with 7 for now.
Much better than Nero 7 onward. This app just needs Lightscribe support to make it perfect.
Hey, I’m new at this, I opened the program, selected burn DVD movie, selected the file(divx) hit next, then it says loading, done in less then a minute, then it says please enter blank DVD, my question is, what about conversion? It seems to go straight to the burning process, I want to create a regular DVD that will play in most DVD players not just divix players, does this do that?
Thanks.
@10/Newbie) No.
use convertx2dvd for that. Simple, and not that horrible results..
Thanks Dionisus, I will try convertx2dvd.
I don’t know whats wrong, every file I open with Convertxtodvd shows: unsupported or not A/V file.
@ newbie, what file type are you trying to open and what is the codec?
thanks
ill update
Only Divix files that were posted here, they play fine, but can’t open them with CovertxtoDVD, I think the program is corrupt, I just read the comments from the Convertxtodvd release here, and a bunch of people had the same issue:

Usenet NZB:

I use this program for burning data dvd’s that have single image files over 3 gig, cause nero wont touch them… This version as far as i can tell is the same as version 6? If not whats been added?
Newbie, I have the latest vers of c/x2dvd from here and it works ok. Try reinstalling, otherwise make sure you have the K-Lite video codec set installed. That’s the only codec set I have and everything works aok.
Newbie, to clarify: get the FULL version of K-lite. It contains what’s needed to encode not just play.

@ Newbie:
Movies posted on rlslog ARE NOT DIVX! They are XVID which is a different format. Standalone players compatible with DivX aren’t compatible with Xvid, and it’s very likely that Ashampoo doesn’t either. For converting Xvid to DVD you should find some other programs like the other commenters suggest.
Bottom line: DivX and Xvid are not the same.
@18,
You are doing something wrong, I burned 4 GB images as a file to DVD with Nero. You gotta use UDF though.
QuadrupelQ,
I can play all the Xvids on my DivX player that is not supposed to play them.
How this app compares to IMGBURN ?
Make a data dvd, add files, and burn… its that simple if you have to do anything different your doing something wrong keep it simple and everythings great! this program does just that… and it does not care what size the iso/bin file is, it will burn it quick and easy….
Thanks but, I think I’ll stick to Padus.
cracked version from the rs link installs but doesnt work for me. splash screen display but then program doesnt start.
i installed the cracked exe and ran registry file as stated in the nfo. oh well
me too 27..doesn´t semm to work this version here.
newbie..your version should be corrupted..please check another version and install!! It happened to me before…
@QuadrupelQ
All standalone DivX players can play XviD
i followed the instructions as the .nfo stated…
the program installed, i copyed the cracked .exe to the directory folder, registration was good.
but when i went to start the program, it acted as if it was loading, then i get an error report msg and it has to close…
WTF…this crap doesnt work…
Heres the description for Ashampoo from the website:
Turning your video files into DVDs that you can play on any DVD player has never been this easy. You just select the files you want to include on the disc, select your navigation menu format and burn. All common video formats are supported (WMV, AVI, MPEG, ASF etc.), the program converts them automatically.
So when I selected a 698MB Xvid file, it was ready to burn after 1 minute, is it possible to convert that fast?
@All i can say is that unless it says that xvid/divx is supported, it wouldn’t be converting it. Try a converter to AVI and then run it through the program.
On another note, I have Nero 8 and when i burn a DVD movie to disc now, it doesn’t work. Can’t be read. I don’t understand… Should I go back to using Nero 7? It worked for me, and I’m not sure what caused it but it SEEMS to be the upgrade to Nero 8. Unfortunately, I wasn’t attentive enough to notice at what point the failure to burn correctly occured. If anyone has any suggestions or ideas, please let me know. Thanks!
Sorry, that should read “@31″
I downloaded another version of ConvertXtoDVD, I burned a movie without a problem, It plays perfectly, even on a very old player.
Thanks all.
Whenever I go to burn a movie it says “there is not enough space in the folder for temporary files to make the Video DVD”
I have lots of hard drive space… don’t understand.
Help ! thanks
If you want to make a DVD of your flicks use Nero Vision, it’ll encode and burn for you or just use TMPGENC and encode them yourself and make a vcd. I’ll still get this prog, would be nice to try something besides Nero.
nero 6.6.1.4 is still the best
even if your hard drive has a lot of free space, there is a specific space allocated for burning optical media [on the c drive(usually)]. check the settings of ashampoo burning studio and increase the space allocated for burning media. This space is for caching files before burning.
Thank you for the response, I will try that.
Nero 8.1.1.3 Micro is also a good alternative (or Lite version)!
nero 6.6.1.4 is still the best
yes yes tucker hit the nail onthe head!
This program looks good. The only problem I can see so far is you can’t create chapters in the DVD’s. Unless I’m missing something?? At least Convert2DVD lets you do chapters. Everytime I used Nero I would get my video and audio out of sync, I hate that program.

NERO IS THE BEST COPYING SOFTWARE AROUND YOU NEED A DESCENT PC TO HANDLE BUT ITS GOOD PIECE OF SOFTWARE NBEVER WIN PEOPLE GOT DIFFRENT VIEWS OF PROGRAMS ANYWAY!!!!
I’ve always been able to pick any one of the constituent rar’s to extract and the whole thing gets done automatically. What Christian has done here appears to be a sick joke: rar’s within zip’s within more rar’s. What the f is the purpose of that? It doesn’t unpack except manually. WTF?
I have to say that I’m sorry for whining about the separate pieces; It turned out to go quickly once I got the rar’s out of their zip’s. Once I had the rar’s my winrar did them all together automatically. And then I had a quality product. For free. So thanks for posting it, Christian.
@37: Tucker, how is 6.6.1.4 better than 6.6.1.15?
I burnt 8 episodes of LOST per 4gb dvd. Ony bad part was when dvd played it had no fast forward or pause on my dvd player. I went back to using tmpgenc dvd author for burning episodes.
