Ashampoo Burning Studio 8 v8.02-TE

Most popular alternative burning application Ashampoo’s Burning Studio got updated to version 8. If you are sick of over-bloated burning apps give it a shot.

Description: Does your burning software do everything but you can’t find anything? Did installing it take up several gigabytes of hard drive space and fill up your Taskbar? Ashampoo Burning Studio 8 is different. It’s compact, fast and amazingly easy to use. You just choose from a list of tasks and the software guides you through every step. And even though it has all the functions you would expect from a complete burning suite, the entire software takes up less than 80 megabytes on your hard disk.

I switched to imgburn because of someone’s comment here, and found it’s the best burning package I’ve ever used…and I’ve used a lot of ‘em.

    Really, it’s a 2Mb download, and it does everything I need….and more!

Best burning software on the block. If you have sessions fail it’s probably your own fault.

Nero6 Fanboy here…. why… cuz i haven’t tried ashampoo and i won’t cuz nero works for me, tried imgburn before (recommended for burning backups…) but….. call me a noob cuz i have no idea how to use imgburn…. :( so…. still…… nero 6 for me… anybody can give me a reason to switch to ashampoo?

    July 1st, 2008 | 05:09

I’m using v7.21 right now, it’s just 22mbs and works perfectly.

This one seems too nero-ish already :(

  22. x537357
    July 1st, 2008 | 05:35

The size is only big because it contains about 20MB of multilingual files and 40MB or so of images + themes. The program itself isn’t bloated at all… very good burning app.

    July 1st, 2008 | 06:00

Not again! It seems that a NEW Ashampoo is cracked by someone every few weeks. Great program but I think anyone who wants it should have it by now.

@skeptical, I find Ashampoo has less burn errors and lost information that Nero. Nero is great too, but I find Ashampoo is more resourceful, faster and does burn better, more reliable I suppose.

    imgburn is really good but

it doesnt have instant vcd/dvd/audio burning features

plus it only supports iso i think

too bad =( I still use it as my primary burner although I use others like magiciso when the image format is not supported

  30. gilad
    July 1st, 2008 | 07:56

the problem is that there is no overburn on this software..

i love copytodvd but it’s not copy cd’s from cd’s perfectly.

    so i stay with nero.

@30: I think you need to try imgburn again, because there are 6 big buttons when you start the program, of which one is labled “Write files/folders to disc”. Also, this is how you burn audio CDs from mp3s and other audio files: http://forum.imgburn.com/index.php?showtopic=5555
Burrrn is also a very good free burner that specializes in burning auido: http://www.burrrn.net/?page_id=4

Ashampoo 8.02 just crashed while burning a dvd, now it´s ruined. If you need multisession burning do yourself a favor and get nero 8 micro, just 17.7MB. For almost everything else imgburn is all you need, well clonecd too.

  45. hmmmm
    July 1st, 2008 | 15:59

this version is like 10mb bigger than version 7. this is going bloatware too.

  46. DangleSoLow
    July 1st, 2008 | 16:57

And I bet that 10mb is just overwhelming your system. I know you probably utilize all the space you can for kiddie porn and xxx anime.

    Just a heads up.

Kaspersky finds a trojan located within the actual program executable.

    Report below.

deleted: Trojan program Trojan.Win32.Monderc.gen File: C:\Documents and Settings\User-name\Desktop\Ashampoo Burning Studio 8.02\Ashampoo.Burning.Studio.8.v8.02-TE\Ashampoo.Burning.Studio.8.v8.02-TE.rar/ashampoo_burningstudio802_sm.exe/file.exe//data0004

The modified .exe file located within the crack folder seemed to be clean.

Note: The file titled “ashampoo_burningstudio802_sm.exe” can also be download from Ashampoo’s site. It doesn’t contain the trojan, so I don’t believe kaspersky is reporting it as a false positive.

I just deleted the entire file as I can’t take any chances.

I’m sure the rapidshare links work good, but don’t dl this software from pirate bay or isohunt, one of them has a trojan packed in. I found out the hard way when it took over my desktop background and installed a bunch of software, you’ve been warned.
