ASCII curtains for real scene lovers

If you really are a true geek and want to show that to everyone who visits your little pad, this unusual product is just for you. Dutch designer, Nienke Sybrandy, created the original model of ASCII curtains. If you look at them from bigger distance, you will see just a tree. However, upon closer inspection, you can clearly see all the design is made of ASCII characters, in the similar way scene groups create their NFOs. Nice & nerdy!

    Tree design for curtains may be new, but using ASCII pics for curtains or in other furniture/decoration is at least over 15 years old! A friend had those is her house featuring puppies and kittens. Like I said, perhaps the idea of using trees in desings is new, but the idea is OLD.

    How about this for the average ASCII nerd…

    Deep ASCII is a full length conversion of the classic porno film Deep Throat, which amounts to 55 minutes of pure mute ascii porn.

    @21 uraloser,
    Yes, you are. ;)

    I just pointed out that unlike ReeGed said, the idea of ASCII art used for decoration is NOT either new or original. Only original thing with this is the design of the pictures used.

    Now, if you have a problem with this, tought. Get over it.

    This is like the biggest invention since we found out that we could put wheels on a suitcase. (Which we actually realized sometime after we had gone to the moon…)

    Anyone know where to get them?

  32. March 19th, 2008 | 14:47

    @24:

    Wow! F@ck DivX! The deep.throat class file is only 170mb… thats not bad for 55min. We should use that ‘codec’! At least for a CAM rip this should be enough… ; )

    I wonder what they use internal… raw text or png images made from ascii art frames…

  37. Casa.addams
    March 19th, 2008 | 20:13

    Holy sh_t dude! That 170mb deep.throat file is actually a text file! It has every frame as ascii art stored in it… I’m sure it compresses well…

    btw: I think rlslog is alittle too conservative if it comes to curse words…

    Downloaded this neat little app and thought I would share.

    @37 – Normally we get around 70% compression on ASCII. This would amount to a 51Mb compressed file. Indeed, not bad for 55 minutes of dated porn. At least we are spared from looking at those 70’s hairy apes in detail ;-) . B.T.W. Deep Throat was recently publicly aired on television where I live… But hey, we are at least allowed to smoke cannabis here and I’ve seen better porn ;-) .
