Arsis – We Are The Nightmare [2008]

Hello everybody! I am 18 years old, from Germany and a new author on RLSLOG! I will mostly inform you about new movies, apps and music releases. Hopefully we’ll have a jolly good time :) . Well this is my first post, and oh boy, I can tell you it was a pretty long way to get here. Theres absolutely nothing going on in the scene currently, except for the usual amount of porn. But in any case, enjoy this release which is brought to you by group FNT :)

Arsis is a Technical Melodic Death Metal band from Virginia, USA. It was formed in 2000 by guitarist/songwriter James Malone and drummer Michael Van Dyne (who left the band in late 2006) in Virginia. Though Arsis originally performed as James and Michael + rotating session musicians, James has now hired a full lineup. “Arsis” is a musical term used to refer to the upbeat or unaccented part of a measure.

im into metal too but tbh, im bored as hell with all these retro thrash bands popping up. wouldnt be so bad if they had their own styles but 99% sound totally the same. nu-metal is dead, grunge revival is dead and thrash like this needs a total overhaul before its gona reach past its close nit fan base

all the hard-metal band performers look the same, they have all the same outfits since 1968,just the names are different but the most try to make you scare in a kind of way!
    why ?

    “HAH! Arse-iss :P

Yeah. Only Americans could name their band “arse-iss”. Playing “Technical” Death Metal, no less – savage, snip-tips. Terrible style of music.

“Nice gravity blasts, cheater. Your guitarist sounds like he’s playing a keyboard.”

    March 18th, 2008 | 03:22

I find it interesting that the only bands that are posted on here in the rock genre are long haired metal bands. I’m actually surprised that a lot of people are dissing on them. Yes, I don’t like black metal, grind or anything of the sort, but let’s all agree if this site posted one, just one emo incorporated sounding band, every single dumbass out there would be ‘emo this, emo that’ ‘cut your wrists’ or some other ignorant nonsense. Then again, I find it unfair that the only bands that are getting recognition are these types of bands of heavy metal. Where is the diversity? You could go anywhere from Something Corporate to Linkin Park to UnderOath to Lamb of God and I’m sure most of the general readers on here would agree with me on that. Post more bands of more genre types, not just one you favor from when you were growing up. It’s not like it makes you less of a man to have good music up, regardless of it’s genre.

    March 18th, 2008 | 04:29

this is only for hard care fans of metal if your thinking this will be like good old metallica or even Opeth
    think again.
    but still it is good

  42. rochie
    March 18th, 2008 | 04:31

i also agree with interesting @43

  43. to interesting
    March 18th, 2008 | 04:48

To interesting…I see where you are coming from but I like the fact that they are posting some non mainstream bands which can get them a lil bit more fame….but I do agree that more diversity would be great but I think if we try to distribute among a ton of genre’s it will result in just spamming new albums from bands and become a nightmare.

I can see how difficult it is for anyone to even listen to one moment of metal when you have been listning to NSync and Westlife cry their hearts out and Snoop Dogg informing the world about his “hoes”. Mainstream music is either “baby” or “bit$h”. The philosophical depth of death metal is obviously too much for all you guys here, and millions of other pop-culture addicts around the world.

If you don’t like metal, then it’s okay. We all have our likes and dislikes. But the problem with most dudes like you is that you have no idea what metal is about, they can’t speak three meaningful sentences about it, but are busy making fools of themselves by making comments like the ones here.
Thanks to Over for posting this. I downloaded A Diamond For Disease and bought A Celebration of Guilt. Both were awesome.I was really looking forward to this. Long Live Metal.
P.S.-Stay away from “Candy Shops” and “lollipops.”

    March 18th, 2008 | 12:55

Mmm.. vthe pop lovers should stop talking $hit. It’s cool you like pop, it’s not cool u diss anything but. I don’t like the hard metal but I have heard more than a few tracks. Try deciperhing the lyrics of some metal that isn’t about necrophilia (yeah) and then run your mouths n whatnot. Actually, try some StainD or Seether on for size. If you’ve got an angry bone in your body (and you should considering the state of affairs) and you don’t like either of these bands, then don’t even bother to try something new. Oh, and don’t ’support’ $hit bands. Go pay $5 to NIN for there Ghosts release, and tell the RIAA to F*** themseleves in the blowhole.

Thanks for all the comments, especially, 43, 46, 47 and 49.

Well my personal interest in music is heavy metal as you can see and I am willing to post Mainstream stuff, but as #46 stated it could transform to a band-spam here.

Anyways, as I said in my first post, I will dedicate my time here to music aswell as other stuff, so you can expect I will probably post things like Linkin Park aswell :)

    March 18th, 2008 | 18:45

    Thanks for this excellent metal-post.
It’s a pretty good band too, definitely worth checking out for those who enjoy the genre.
I agree with previous posters about music diversity, but #46 sums my opinion up pretty well. Spam would be bad, since there’s tons of music releases every day. Some of the more interesting, non-mainstream ones would be great (kind of like it is now). I’m a metal-fan myself so of course I’m a bit biased, but I wouldn’t mind rock/alternative/etc as long as it’s not emo. ;)
Keep up the good work. :)

  51. Interesting again...
    March 19th, 2008 | 06:29

Why would it would people be spamming? You posted a band. I don’t see anyone on here spamming it. What’s the difference is the band you posted was let’s pick a random band… Slayer and not Arsis? Do you think it’s more likely that people will spam if the bands are (a) popular, or ( b) considered “catchy”? Or maybe both? I don’t think it really matters on how well known they are or not. Hell, I like a screamo band named Four Letter Lie and they aren’t really known. They go from alternative to almost emocore in some parts. I guess what I’m saying is there’s no difference between what bands make it on your post or not I doubt anyone will spam, and if they do then they get deleted or banned just like the background of this message box tells you. Genres and popularity don’t matter, it’s all about spreading good bands in general.

  52. Interesting again...
    March 19th, 2008 | 06:31

*why would it make people spam?* sorry for the typo

  53. March 19th, 2008 | 14:59

Its not about people spamming. Its about spamming a lot of bands, because there a lot of good bands always releasing new albums…
