The underlying game seems to be basically ArmA 1, but now has better graphics.
I think the game is mainly intended to be played over multiplayer, hence the AI being so bad.
I thought ArmA II used FADE protection rather than Securom (what it says in nfo)? If it does use Securom, it shouldn't take long to crack. I just hope some form of multiplayer works, even if it's just LAN.
This'll be a great game when they finish it!

BIS (the makers of Arma) are absolutely horrible at making patches. They take 3 years to do what most companies fix in 6 months. Most of the time their patches break more than they fix.
As for Arma2 you need a brand new super computer. Don't believe their system requirements.

ARMA2 is feking awesome, ive been playing it for a month now. There's some bugs buts its still very playable, ive had no showstoppers. It works better than empire total war.
Online is best fun, grabbibg a laser targeter and sneaking behind enemy lines then lasing targets for the Harrier to drop on.
I've bought 2 copies of this game. Didnt mean too, jsut happened that way. lol
It does need beefy cpu, gives my i7 a good run. Demo wil be out this week, try that. Dont expect COD or BF2 antics, its alot more serious.
I wish the developers of Arma would spend half as much time coding removing bugs and optimizing the game that they do developing their anitpiracy "fade" system. POS game. And not its not because our computers can't run it. This game isn't Crysis, don't kid yourself. Just poor coding and shoddy work, they just try to get this game out in the market as soon as possible without proper alpha and beta testing.
1.01 is cracked and playable. No crack for 1.02 though. Search gamecopyworld. Make sure you don't download the beta crack though because it doesn't fix the FADE protection

This game has actually been out on the rapidshare airwaves since may 31st, with a proper crack & english patch even, from turkshare.
I seriously do not like Arma II. I've been a gaming addict since even before the internet, and have tried about every PC shooter that ever went gold. Despite delivering some innovative features, screw this game. yup.

Ai is hiding, its for sure. of course it may look worse than scripted ai in corridor shooters, but while players learn how to trick arma2 ai, arma2 ai doesnt learn how to kill a player.
for instance in cod series skill of ai depended on from what distance a bot would be likely to hit you with 99% of his shots while you are hiding behind some wall.
in arma its just different, as it has to act without being prescripted, or at least without concentrating all fire on you once you are in their sights.

Or you just have a crappy system. Put the viewing range to about 1.7KM, that is far enough, and will greatly improver performance.

Rated as Low Quality – but it‘s not the Uploader‘s fault. Hey – this game is the biggest crap ever! Bohemia Interactive has done it‘s worst.
It‘s unplayble due to huge amounts of bugs, the gfx (except the vehicle designs) are horrible. Quest solve theirselves, the AI kills civilians needed for quest information by driving them over with cars… Tanks fly around because they crashed into a little stone (Physics!), Trees groq through tents, NPCs are stuck within piles of rubble in the ground (spawn there), enemies won‘ t notice you on a range of 0.5 metres even while you‘re shooting them… The translations are horrible. Voices are English only; german or other subtitles have never heard anything of grammar or spelling, while the English voices seem. To. Load. Every. Word. After. Another. And. Play. Them. In. This. Way.
This sucks.
Thanks to the Uploader, but this is a game the world doesn‘t need. As they tell on their own advertisement: "Arma 2: The ultimate Military simulation – by the makers of Operation Flashpoint and Armed Assault" (original german text – I translated it into english). Well: ultimus³ is latin and means "the last". If Bohemia doesn‘t work hard on their game, it will definately be their last one.

Level 4 is unplayable. The campaign is pretty great. It really is a fantastic game once you get past the first few bugs and as long as you can script the mission editor is never-ending fun.

Shooters make a pact with you. Half-Life 2, Far Cry, even BioShock all have a basic formula: standard controls, guns that put bullets where you tell them to, enemies who are just looking for a lead injection. Arma 2 is half-baked piece of cr@p which needs at least 10 patches to make it stable.
1.02 patch fixes almost NOTHING and it's still IMPOSSIBLE to play the game properly.
My advice is wait for 1.10 patch, which will be released 1 year later.
Otherwise, you will go crazy due to endless bugs.

yea Blaat, have you ever fired a weapon? Fairly easy if you want to call it that- well with properly trained nomenclature. that's why they can successfully send 18 year old kids with 70 IQ's out to war, to merc the worst people on the planet.
If I wanted a game with horrible sights & half-luck dodgy aim, where enemies mostly just stand there unrealistically out in the open- i'd get Arma II. Yes it is a soldier's worst nightmare, because it will make them feel totally useless.
Novalogic's Joint Operations from 5 years ago is STILL a 10x better game than this…

ArmA 2 is protected by the latest FADE DRM system developed by Macrovision.
So it may take at least 1 year to completely crack it unless there is a genius cracker who will save us from this miserable waiting.

Fade protection is invincible. No crackers can beat it. It's the known fact although some ret@rds think it has already been fully cracked. There is no evidence that all those fade triggers were cracked in previous games. It's true that only some of the triggers were cracked, but many of them still remain uncracked.
We MUST buy the game. That's the only way to play this game normally.

Anyway heres how.
uninstall ur game reboot, then reinstall fresh copy
disconect internet just to be safe when doing those and next steps. i havent tried the other way do it anyway.
mount the ARMA2.mds mini image with daemon tools lite
use Y.A.S.U 1.6.9040
After cloaking terminate Y.A.S.U with task manager (dont use the terminate YASU window that will pop up, wait for end task now window.
Get 1.1 final crack from game copy world put gensis.dll and the exe in game folder
then play, plug ur internets back in.
I dont know if it needs that genisis, it just worked so im doing my steps exactly.

Problem is that even mini image trick can't bypass the fade trigger although it bypasses the securom. That trick works only on window 7 and vista 64, but it doesn't work anymore after applying the 1.02 patch.
The cracks released so far can't bypass the fade, either.
Therefore, there is no difference between mini image trick and applying crack because they trigger fade anyway.
As a result, what we need is the proper crack.
Who are the fools saying that fade is uncrackable? It was cracked right through the final OFP patch and the final ArmA patch as well.
The ArmA 2 Fade protection will be broken sooner or later as well.
I second the poster that said that BIS should spend more time releasing a bug free game rather than trying to place triggers to turn you into a seagull everywhere.
OFP was stable enough that I finished it without a patch. ArmA took many patches. ArmA 2 is even more half-arsed than ArmA (though campaign seems a bit more developed and interesting).
I remember thinking that Codemasters without BIS would NEVER do as good a job on OFP 2 as BIS would have done, but now on the evidence of this game, it seems that even a half screwed OFP2 will be a 1000 times better than this!
OFP 2 is a childish game simplified for console kids.

I seriously have already beaten the fade i dont care what they say there just making up stuff because they cant play it so there tryna spark reaction ignore. Do my thing but Another thing to try with my other steps! try this after you close YASA before applying the crack, run with out the crack, and it will do a scan thing it will come up with an error but its a different error to the normal no cd in drive, its tedious i know im just saying all my steps, this is what i did so after it does that scan and the error and push ok then apply the crack then launch. i can play for hours no water mark aims perfect no glitches and after a few hours go back into range still past pistol it friggen works lol. Do everything i said so least you can say i did everything you said and it didnt work btw im on sp3 and have itwins clone dvd.
Ok last step isnt true i just tested and you don't have to disconnect from the net either. Just shot 26 targets on range with out even trying do that with fade on.
The FADE DRM implemented in ArmA 2 doesn't affect your aiming.
The symptoms of fade in arma 2 are like below.
1. You can't do team switch.
2. You can't use High Command.
3. There is tremendous intentional delay when loading the game, when building defense, when fast travelling and when taking outposts and so on.
4. The dead enemy spawns endlessly on some maps.
5. You are killed by a bullet even when you are in the tank.
6. You hear hen and cow's sounds when fast travelling.
7. You hear crackling sound.
8. It's dark even when you wear night vision goggle.
9. You turn into wild boar.
10. etc.
Most people will think those symptoms except 9 are game bugs or consider them normal, but they don't happen in legal copy.
They will realize only when syptom 9 happens, when they turn into wild boar.
You will experience most of the symptoms above especially in the later part of the gameplay. Go on playing and experience them yourself.

I downloaded the russian version about a month ago and applied the english patch files, and the only problem I have with it is that bulets dispersion which comes from FADE, securom or whatever… doesn't matter, we really just need a proper crack so fingers crossed and hoping it will appear soon.
The fact is that none of the games made by BIS were spectacular by default. OFP was considered to be the best in the series just because it was something unique at that time and introduced realism into the FPS genre. What made OFP and ArmA great games was the modding community. The fact that you had hundreads of vehicles and soldier types from all over the world gave you the possibility to do endless scenarious and thats why I played OFP for over 3 years and ArmA for 2 years so far. I have to give credit to BIS for the Editor and the possibility to play multiple mods and addons at the same time, this is a huge advantage from other games. Also the AI isn't that bad for this kind of game. You can only see how dumm he really is only if you play infantry vs infantry battles. However if you do huge battles with houndreds of AIs,with tanks and aicrafts, the AI stupidity can be neglected. What I know for sure is that I'll buy ArmA 2 only if I see that the community has interest in modding the game.

Actually Fade does degrade your markmanship over a period of time. I have now tested almost every availiable download of this game(well NOT the Reloaded which is being downloaded as we speak) and in every instance bullet trajectory is naffed. Playing the DEMO you get to actually hit the range targets with some degree of accuracy, that YOU actually PASS the marksmanship part of "Boot camp", which all the cracked versions to date marksmenship at boot camp is an absolute lottery…
As to the rest of the list, I'm actually aware for certain that just after taking control of the Razor for the first time….I then bot the awful message plastered right through my Aiming reticule…Something in German to the effect blah ..blah…Degraden(Sp?)….So yes I have seen amessage on screen to the effect that my game was recognised as being pirated…
i dont see why everyone is saying that arma 2 is full of bugs. i played it and had no trouble at all, everything worked, i havent even had fade turn up yet i av been playing for almost a week now. they said the same thing about stalker but yet again i av had no troble with it wat so ever
For those still playing the original Operation Flashpoint, theres a new mod called ECP REDUX, it vastly improves graphics and playability. Its amazing believe me!

I heard that if you use Multi4 version of the game with Patch 1.04/1.03, you can play without activating the FADE!
