    looks very interesting… nice post GENERiC .. thanks

    always on the look out for the best video player.

    sofar..

    #1 VLC plays anything i want with no issues.
    #2 Gom Player .great Ui ,plays 99% of videos.

    iF this has the functionality of VLC and a Ui as good as Gom Player….. well…. we will see.

    @3 MPC is ok , but vlc plays more files with less hastle.

    Since MPC is DShow based… it can play all the files with a bit of hassle. VLC can't! GOM might… but it would need the same amount of hassle as MPC.

    BTW… what do you need souped up UI for? iCandy's for macboyz!

    Don't you full-screen the app 99.99% of the time , which is when watching movies?

    This program just crashes my pc. I installed it and rebooted when asked, then it just restarts my pc. Before it does tho my outpost firewall pro gives me a popup asking to allow/deny memory injection for a process created by Arcsoft TMTP. Weird. Anyone else having this problem?

    It looks like a clone of Cyberlinks PowerDVD, just in a new skin. But if you need a real player get KMPlayer, it's 10 times better than anything else, including vlc, mpc or any of those other ones people always mention. KMP = the best.

    ^^joe blow,

    and your KMPlayer do play BR and HDDVD with menus, right?

    currently this player is the only solution to play full HD disks of the HD. if you only d/k xvid or mov, than it's not for you.

    @all Thanks for your inputs. But I've tried all the players you mentioned and still think MPC with K-Lite is superior to them except for some streams where I use VLC.

    @areg "currently this player is the only solution to play full HD disks of the HD. if you only d/k xvid or mov, than it's not for you."
    Thanks that's what I needed to know.

    @17 humpa
    I have to advise against codec packs à la K-Lite. They are notorious for screwing your system big-time. And once they're installed it's virtually impossible to completely uninstall them. You should only ever install the codecs you really need, one by one. For most people that means Xvid and AC3-filter. For MKV's it's more of a drag. I did install CCCP for that, but I wish I hadn't.
    Then I discovered KMPlayer. It comes with it's own set of codecs which are sufficient 99% of the time. If KMPlayer can't handle it, then VLC usually will. And, as everyone knows, VLC also comes with it's own integrated codecs. Why KMP AND VLC? Because KMP manages sub-titles MUCH better than VLC. And I also like KMP's viewing options e.g. 1.5 or double size on a black background… handy when you don't want a full full-screen.
    So next time you reinstall your system, try installing KMPlayer and VLC, period. NO CODEC PACKS.

    what the hell are you talking about?!? if you bothered to go to the website you will find out that its designed specifically for nVidia CUDA cards and has nothing to do with ATI.

    I can't find the SimHD plugin either.

    P.S. I have NVIDIA and CUDA.

    @24 Des

    Agree Codec Packs quite nuts. K-lite update like every 2 wks with newer release not worth it.

    Tks for the tips on Codec Pack.
