Arch Enemy – Rise Of The Tyrant (Promo) (2007)

Death Metal. A kind of music which I personally can not listen to – but there are many people who like this shouting and screaming, so we cover it for you. This Swedish-German metal band Arch Enemy is little special among similar bands: they actually have a girl “singing” with them, which isn’t that common. Their new album Rise Of The Tyrant should be a bomb in terms of this music genre, and what’s more, its official release date is scheduled to the end of the September, so you can listen it here with a really great advance.

According to an unconfirmed report by Hall of Metal, Arch Enemy have set “Rise of the Tyrant” as the title of their follow-up to 2005’s “Doomsday Machine”, tentatively due on September 25 via Century Media Records. The CD was produced by Fredrik Nordström at the new Studio Fredman in Hyssna, Sweden and will feature artwork by Niklas Sundin of Cabin Fever Media. This release comes as a satisfied end to the band’s scheduled eight-week stint at the notorious metal factory, where they recorded.

Vocalist Angela Gossow previously stated about the upcoming LP, “I experimented quite a bit with doubling vocal lines on the last album, which I now feel kind of took personality and vocal attack away. So this time it’s the classic, one-vocal-track, no-frills, no-effects approach.” This album has Arch Enemy reuniting with Nordström, who last worked with the band on 2001’s breakthrough “Wages of Sin”. “Fredrik produced that record and I think the material we have is a little bit more in that vein,” guitarist Michael Amott told Decibel magazine. “It’s more intense than what we’ve seen on the last couple of albums. We went back a little bit to what we did on ‘Burning Bridges’ and ‘Wages of Sin’, with more riffs, more melodies, a bit more stuff going on, more action-packed.”

Arch Enemy is a Swedish melodic death metal band, formed in 1995 by ex-Carcass guitarist Michael Amott. The band have released six studio albums, a live album, two EPs, and a DVD (Live Apocalypse) The band was originally fronted by Johan Liiva; frontwoman Angela Gossow joined as lead vocalist in 2001.

This version is nuked with constant beeping every couple minutes. This aint a real scene, therefor you probably should remove it waiting for the real deal?

  5. July 28th, 2007 | 13:14

2 Leo: it pretty much is real scene release and it wasn’ť nuked yet either.

I listened this ~30 seconds and deleted whole thing. That beeping was way too horrible. Quality was good otherwise, but you gotta be Real Fan to torture your ears with that god forsaken beep-beep-beep- :D

What good is a “promo” when you can’t listen to it without being annoyed every 30 seconds?

Sure… kills piracy but kills the whole purpose of the promo in the first place as well.

yeah this version is beeping all the time, btw where does the sample from “rise of the tyrant” come from? when the man i the beginning talk. i think ive heard this in the Paul Elstak – Im God.mp3

Sounds good, sounds like same old Arch Enemy, fans won’t be disappointed. That beeping is annoying tho. lol.

Kelso, the sample is from the 1979 semi-pornography movie Caligula (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0080491/). Check the quotes page for the written text. :)
As for the actual release — great stuff, but that beeping is driving me nuts. I think I’ll just wait until retail or I’ll subconsciously associate feelings of irritation everytime I listen to it. ;)

I put up with the beeping and I fell in love with this CD. It fits nicely right in between “Wages Of Sin” and “Anthems Of Rebellion”. The Yngwie style guitar parts on some of the songs are very welcome and the lyrics are much improved from the last dew releases. I also found the vocals a lot easier to understand then they ever were before and I need to read the lyrics to understand everything.

After listening to the CD 10 plus times the beeping is hardly annoying anymore but believe me I’ll be the first in line to DL a torrent without it, granted one comes out before the CD is released. I planned on buying it either way so doesn’t make a difference to me. I’m just impatient.

Ofcourse it has some disturbance in the songs its a PROMO cd, what did u expect?… if you would get a real version now it would be an illegal one… =/

Anyway I hope this cd will be as sweet as the new albums and as awesome as the first ones…

love arch enemy to the death…

Oh and that no beep version is ass. You can still hear where the beeps are because sound is all warped where they used to be or their toned down but you can still softly hear them. I’d rather listen to the beep version then that.
