Apple Snow Leopard v10.6 Upgrade RETAIL Mac OSX ISO-RiSE

We had earlier leaked GM copy of Snow Leopard by HOTiSO, here comes RETAIL upgrade disc by RiSE group. Btw, according to some sources with this upgrade disc you can do a clean install of Snow Leo – means, you don’t need to have 10.5.x Leopard installed previously.

Description: Mac OS X version 10.6 “Snow Leopard” is the seventh major release of Mac OS X, Apple’s desktop and server operating system. The upgrade to Mac OS X focuses on improving performance, efficiency and reducing its overall memory footprint compared to its predecessor Mac OS X v10.5 “Leopard”, rather than new end-user features. This is also the first Mac OS release dating back to System 7.1.2 that does not support the PowerPC architecture, as Apple now intends to focus on its current line of Intel-based products.

Seems after all that whole release is nuked for r.53 RAR part being corrupted… Damn… :? We should wait for FIXed RAR…

    1 restore snow leopard -dmg on usb stick with disk utility.

    2 systm pref. —> startup disk , select usb stick.

    3 partition/erase HDD with disk utility inside snow leopard install screen. (GUID / HFS)

    4 customize install and select to ALSO install quicktime 7 (quicktime x is not perfect :P )

    wait 25 min.

    Damn it, it doesn't support the PowerPC architecture, FAAAAAK…

    PS: Maybe it's the same case as Logic 9, it was said that it doesn't work on PPC, BUT IT WORKS. Who knows, will wait and see.

    @12: yes, you can upgrade and/or reinstall as a brand new installation… whatever you wish/like…

    Waiting for my Snow Leopard Family pack to arrive in the post, after all those rumors about Trojans in the releases from the past days I decided to buy the original. Only 29 Euros for a single upgrade and 49 Euros for a family pack here in Europe (same in US but off course in Dollars). Now it’s becoming interesting to buy original software.

    Just installed the two-week old 10A432 release from Usenet on my PC and there's no sign of any trojans. Check the MD5 hash before you install, and if you've already installed, make sure your DNS servers aren't modified (in System Preferences > Network).

    download the .dmg, then go into your disc utility and click on Macintosh HD

    then click on the restore 'tab'

    click on 'image' and find your .dmg file

    then drag ur external hard drive from the left area onto the 'destination'

    then after it is done transferring go into your system preferences and click on 'startup disc'

    click on your external then press restart

    sfv check is of no use when the rars were corrupt in the first place.

    did anyone rartest all the rars together? did anyone unpack all the rars?

    if that rar53 was corrupt and then the svf checksums were created, the rars are corrupted and the sfv is of no use at all.

    Build 10A432 is build 10A432. No difference. And there is no trojans (the photo you may be referring to is a feature of snow leopard), so check the SHA-1 or MD5 hashes. If you have HOTISO's release or the original ADC "snowleopard_10a432_userdvd.dmg" leak, which are the same, then there is no need to download this as they are the same.

    The links shown at post #14 above work, and the 2-stage RAR conversion process is successful using Stuffit Expander (v12).
    When I receive my official Snow Leopard Install DVD from Apple I expect it will be identical to what is shown here.

    Could someone please help me out and tell me if it's possible to put this on a USB Flash Drive and upgrade/fresh install from it that way? Would it be the same way comment #42 explained to do it form an external HDD?

    I'm on a macbook and I have no DVD burner, but I still want to upgrade…

    Or better yet.. Could I just install it straight from my hdd… I read that the Actual install disc copies all the files it need to the HDD anyway so that it doesn't even require a restart… So wouldn't I be able to just mount the downloaded iso and just do it from there?

    This release is not good. Whoever is trying to un-nuke it is an idiot. It is the release itself that has been packed wrong. This is the release without the Boot Camp drivers. I've downloaded the whole release and sfv and par2 says everything is OK, but when I try to extract it gives an error when it reaches part 53. This is RiSE that has packed it badly, so THEY have to come with a fix if possible. I extracted the 95% which was good and renamed the file to Mac OS X Install DVD.dmg and used that to overwrite the file Azureus had made when trying to download from brokenstones. This actually worked. It downloaded the last 150 mb from the torrent and everything is OK. I'm trying to install this to my external harddrive as we type.

    This blog seams pretty confident that the release has no CRC error, I'm just dowloading the last part to test out .r54, don't know how credible the source is but I'll let you know how it goes!
