Apple Snow Leopard v10.6 Upgrade RETAIL Mac OSX ISO-P2P

Two days ago I’ve posted Snow Leo RETAIL disk released by RiSE, which after all appears to be corrupted (RAR part r53). Some of us were expecting possible RAR FIX to be released but nothing came up. I did a little bit of research and found this same (exact) copy of RETAIL disc, which extracts fine…

Description: Mac OS X version 10.6 “Snow Leopard” is the seventh major release of Mac OS X, Apple’s desktop and server operating system. The upgrade to Mac OS X focuses on improving performance, efficiency and reducing its overall memory footprint compared to its predecessor Mac OS X v10.5 “Leopard”, rather than new end-user features. This is also the first Mac OS release dating back to System 7.1.2 that does not support the PowerPC architecture, as Apple now intends to focus on its current line of Intel-based products.

What’s new:

  • Refined, not reinvented.
  • A more advanced, more nimble Finder.
  • New look, new features for Exposé and Stacks.
  • Quicker Time Machine backup.
  • Faster to wake up and shut down.

Does the OS need a serial number? And will it update…@_@

  5. Mac
    August 30th, 2009 | 14:06

Installed and works fine on two Macs.

This is the full version and is 7Gb once extracted and mounted. You will, of course, need a DL-DVD to burn this if you want to install it without the use of an external HDD or fash drive.

BTW, the build on this release is 10A432, which is the Gold Master.

Regardless, I recommend that people just pay the meager $30 and buy it because it is definitely worth the asking price and then some.

I will buy a family pack.

If people are looking for the BootCamp drivers and what not, this release do not include them. If you want them, and don't want to find em separate, then just find and download the 6.13gb version. Or spend the $30usd for it.

I agree, lets buy it. Indeed, lets stop downloading movies too and buy them – its the right thing to do. Where do they get these people from. This is a site for FILE SHARERS. If you want to suck up to the Apple Corp, go and post on macworld.

  21. Sweet
    August 30th, 2009 | 15:33

Uh, yeah…. "slightly" faster might be the word for it. Stripped out anywhere from 3 to 7 gigs of installation code between this and Leopard 10.5, encourages x64 application builds, frees up the processor to do more, slims binaries for quicker app start, much nicer Finder indexing, usage of OpenGL video, updated drivers…..

Leopard 10.5 reinvented OSX…. 10.6 is an "under-the-hood" release. A few visual tweaks, but really concentrated for performance boosts.

You are correct in that this is the same dev build, the GM build 10A432 that was released by HOTFIX a few weeks back, but for $30??? AND it'll clean install vs. just upgrade? It's a steal even if you pay for it. Trust me, spend the minute amount of money even if you dl it, then if anything goes wrong… Apple karma won't turn around and bite you…. lol..

No serial needed, no hacks necessary… just good, clean code… (but guaranteed, steal enough of their products, and that old Apple karma will kick in…. before you know it, your next iPod will break… heheheh).

  22. Tim
    August 30th, 2009 | 15:57

Buy this one; its only 29 Euro, not worth the download time and dual layer DVD. Support Mac! (Steve needs fuel for his private plane!)

@25 sweet: "(but guaranteed, steal enough of their products, and that old Apple karma will kick in…. before you know it, your next iPod will break… heheheh)."

your getting karma mixed up with inferior products i think. Nothing to do with stealing.

Why are there so many Apple employees on this thread telling me to buy it for $30; I didn't come to Releaselog to read about Snow Leopard, I came here to get it for free. Can't confirm whether or not there is any trojans for this release since I only scanned the original HOTISO AKA ADC release with Virusbarrier and nothing came up so stop spreading FUD! FYI, HOTISO's release is an exact hash match to the leaked ADC.

I am running it now and it updates and seems a lot more snappier than Leopard.

  33. ridgecity
    August 30th, 2009 | 21:25

the are only 2 known trojans that work on os x and this release include patches for both. It's safe to run.

And some of us can't walk into an Apple store since there are none in my country.

It's people like a lot of you in here that give 'pirates' a bad name. We pirate movies and music because they're OVER PRICED AND NOT WORTH IT. This piece of software, which actually cost Apple a lot to produce is very VERY worth it. If you're not going to bother paying for it, why use it? It's not a whole lot different to Leopard that you've already got and that way you don't take money out of the pocket of someone who is working for their money in these times of recession.

  35. coder-max
    August 30th, 2009 | 21:58

OMFG Now we have pirates with morals, what we do is steel no matter what it is music movies or software. End of story.

    August 30th, 2009 | 23:03

What a bunch of morons who say that you should download it instead of buying,
I dont work for Apple and i dont buy any software at all, but this one is well worth cause its the better os out there and its the right price for value,
Peeps are buying Windows at more than 100$ for a worse os and with some new computer you dont have the choice to come without with its already on the price.
complaining about this 30$ is just being a douche.
    GO WORK!

pmsl me you stumble into this site for??? lol

  39. Mac
    August 30th, 2009 | 23:16

Barry and ME and spot on.

Many of the people who pirate and share software are NOT in it for the money, or because they cheapskates.

I download Photoshop because it is ridiculously expensive, AND I hardly use it enough to justify paying for it.

I download most movies because a vast majority of them are mediocre, and I will NOT watch them again. I am not renting unknown movies at $3-5 a pop or whatever they cost.

And YES, the games and movies that I love, I DO BUY because I am not an idiot who thinks that everyone should just pirate everything.

This is $30 and is the best OS on the planet for the consumer market. If you think this is an unreasonable asking price, then you someone should steal something of yours that costs only $30.

    Can anyone confirm this?

  45. Ish
    August 31st, 2009 | 07:10

Gotta agree to those who say the € 29 for Snow Leopard justifies buying the OS. I was already in a store to pick it up, yet it was sold out. I would have bought it via the iTunes store, if Apple made that possible. But since it's not digitally distributed and since I really really really want the new OS I've downloaded it. And I will buy the OS once I see it in stores.

is it likely that people post the "retail" copy and have "adjusted" it so that they can monitor your computer? Leaving it vulnerable?

I wonder how much money Apple spends in marketers that go around filesharing mediums spreading propaganda (and the fact that it's fairly priced). I bet it works too. you go Apple!!!

A lot of Apple staff probably come to this site and download free movies while pretending to work, then want us to buy their program. Meh, download away pirates! Once a pirate always a pirate.

That comment about the burning house was ridiculous. If your house burns down you claim your house insurance and get a brand new one. "Tell me that when your house burns down." Meh. Grow some balls already you Apple-staffer. Whether it's 30 bucks or a million bucks, we're here to download.

    Work? I'm a bloody professor.
