Apple Mac OSX Leopard v10.5 ISO – OSX

OS X Leopard

The wait has finally come to an end!

An interesting release which many people would be looking forward to. Apple OS X v.10.5 “Leopard” is leaked two days in advance before the official retail release!

I’m not sure why OS X leaks out before the launch. This is not the first time something of this sort is happening. Anyway it’s a fantastic release and I’m going to down this & dress up my MacBook Pro with the big cat, Leopard.

I’ve already posted an article on what’s new and notable in Leopard.

Been around in some Private Trackers, you got to wait for sometime for the torrent to appear in Public Trackers.

Release Name: APPLE.MAC.OSX.LEOPARD.V10.5.ISO-OSX

    @ mac is overpriced junk

I partially agree with you, Apple’s stuff is not cheap. But think of it this way…

Mac/OS X/Apple are like hookers, they are both expensive but totally worth it!

SO funny, when people still say Macs are overpriced. Yes, if you compare to low end Dells.

Just compare them to the same league, like Alienware, and see who is more expensive, idiots!

Now that macs are Intel based and all, is it possible to run this OS on a real computer (ie, a PC – a non-Macintosh)? Or does it still just run on macs?

  12. Rob
    October 23rd, 2007 | 20:28

OS X runs fine on PCs. You just need to replace the kernel and sometimes fiddle around with some kexts to make everything work. Leopard 9A559 (the last build) works fine on my $400 year-old laptop. Cheaper than a MacBook and runs better.

  13. sala81
    October 23rd, 2007 | 20:29

yep, you can run windows if you need…

  14. October 23rd, 2007 | 20:32
  15. October 23rd, 2007 | 20:33

    @13,
It *can* run. But from what I hear, the performance might be good and there’ll tend to be some glitches. OS X is meant to run in your Apple hardware (irrespective if it’s Intel Proccy or not) only.

  16. J
    October 23rd, 2007 | 20:34

Macs ARE more expensive compared to PCs with the same specs. I personally think the Mac OS is worth paying the extra money for, but I can completely understand if someone doesn’t want to. It’s up to the individual. For instance, I’m not paying extra money for a black Macbook compared to a white one. That’s just a ripoff and is ridiculous. I’m happy with my Mac, but I can’t lie about them being more expensive than PCs. They are.

  17. whoa
    October 23rd, 2007 | 20:35

    @13

Real computer? Sorry, a Mac is every bit as real as your “real computer”. Except it can run OSX and you can’t. Buy a Mac or suck it up, you won’t run OSX normally on your computer without a bit of hacking.

    October 23rd, 2007 | 20:51

frequently, SPECS of two computers compared do matter, but also the quality of the parts to produce those specs must be considered.

many companies are cutting corners in production that yield high failure rates and bizarre computer behavior.

with computers, most of the time, the old cliche holds true…

“You get what you pay for.”

my macintosh has run or IS running:
    xp pro 32bit
    vista ult 64bit
    macosx
linux (Ubuntu someday if i am motivated. LOL)

all natively. no emulation needed anymore. true intel xeon dual core processors in the current mac pro towers.

    @ 27,
Yeah man. Heard of Bootcamp? Also you can run Windows side by side with OS X with VM Fusionware or Parallels. You also have the option of Wine – where you can install Windows program in OS X. But once you start to use Mac, you’ll never want to switch back to Windows.

    mac benefits:

    - you cant play most games, and also many other software … pc users are so dumb, they can play all games and software.
    - if you want to upgrade, buy a new mac, only idiot pc users upgrade by only buying the few needed hardware…. why do it cheap if you can do it more expensive, i mean if your car gets a flat tire, dont you buy a new car too?
    - its too expensive, why not pay almost 2 times more for the same performance?
    - we mac users can sniff the corks up our bums and pretend our sh1t doesnt smell bad.

we mac users are uber smart and nobody can understand our amazing way of reasoning…

A Mac is exactly like the ipod….A good looking overpriced item, that compared to other products looses in the most important things…performance and value …..but the damn ifans or idumbasses still buy it because its like hot! like way popular!……godd

Just next time a new ipod or mac comes along….compare it to the competition and see who ends up winning……….honestly if you see a mac doing something better than a common pc tell me, coz I haven’t seen it.

@38 – look for osx86 project, that is the PC version.

At everyone else. Mac is mostly a hardware company, that is what they do best and they make some damn nice systems. in fact, a lot of people buy Macs just to run Windows. Like the imac, that thing is pure style, aluminum and silicon oxide and NO mess. Sony has something similar, but, well, it sucks. I have been through the benchmarks, even the puny mac mini can take down most of your other brands as far as Vista Performance, and the Imac is beter than your higher end PC’s, then the mac Pro is well…. a BEAST that alienware will NEVER come close to. Come on, an 8-core Xeon desktop!

Also, $149 is the retail price for leopard, that is the Ultimate edition.. because well, they don’t have other options… OS X is also nice because it runs fine on older systems, so no pressure to upgrade and no activation, apple just trusts you :)

  47. macattack
    October 23rd, 2007 | 22:06

us mac owners understand that mac and pc are two completely different things, for one mac is pretty much virus free, the pc…lets not spit out how many viruses are created for those.

Mac can run windows fluently, has the best look, we all know that Vista just tried to copy Macs form, but…failed to make it even near as good as Mac.

with Leopard we could retrieve files from 2 years back with ease, with windows you can’t ever find a file.

Mac’s are innovative, sexy, worth the money, and the best thing…you never have to use the common Windows alt, control, delete, why? because Macs never go bogus on its users.

I got a pc, but i’ll switch to a mac coz the ultimate reason to buy a MAC- you’ll never feel cheated 2 years down the line. i bought my fujitsu-siemens amilo july 2006 when the dual core came (when it was still centrino duo, not pentium duo) for £700, now it “normally costs £350 in stores and £250 on ebay. The macbook pro still costs £1700 a year down the line!!

And yes, I am a PC/vista user…u could use more ram, but what do i need it for…?,.,,,,the only reason you could possibly need this Leopard os, is if you NEED to run some fancy photo or movie editing software…with over 300 new ‘upgrades’ (spam) …hippocrates’s, who claim a pc comes with spam programs…i could go on and on….

Anybody who uses Windows and thinks it’s the best, just don’t even waste your time Mac fellow users couldn’t care less we know that our os is well on the other side of the lake, still waiting for windows to play catch up and Vista what a poor atemp of an OS, laughable even worse the Zune.. Good god even you think companies like creative do better MP3 Players then apple is that why the iPods are winning hands down, never like creative will never use a creative MP3 i’m happy with my MacBook, iMac & and iPhone, and can’t wait for Leopard

Shame to say i have windows XP on my computers i need it for one or two minor things, sure even XP is better then Vista, i’m soo glad they wasted billions on development on vista, lololol

    mac users:
    easiest solution:
    applications/utilities/Disk Utility.app

use this application to restore your newly downloaded diskimage to a partition of an external harddrive.
also, double click the diskimage and NOTE ITS EXACT NAME, you must rename the external harddrive partition the exact thing.

restart your mac holding the OPTION KEY DOWN

choose the external partition when asked.

    install normally.

Now, the last time I checked my PC for viruses with Norton (antivirus software that isn’t neccessary for Macs) I found over 1,500.

Lastly, maybe the reason you don’t understand why Macs are better machines than PCs is because (1) you can’t use grammar correctly, and (2) you can’t back up your arguments with any evidence other than swears. Oh, and Die Apple Die at the end…I bet you have never even used a Mac.

I’ve tried to unrar but I keep getting an error msg saying that .r40 and .r46 are corrupt. Is anyone else having problems unraring or am I the only one? And yes, I have tried redownloading these two files several times.

I’ve downloaded it on my XP so I can convert from .dmg to .iso with MagicISO so I can then burn to a DL DVD so I can install it on my friends Mac but MagicISO keeps saying “Can’t find the file or file isn’t CD image file!”

according to a guy down in the 50’s he said for XP your best bet for burning is macdrive. I’d say look into it and see if you get any benefits.

man… this is such a nightmare… i been working on it on and off the whole day…

what i have done so far is covert to iso (renaming cdr extension) and in the process of transferring to pc. a word of warning, mac has a 4 gig size limit, which i found out the hard way… after wasting a ton of time.

so i am using stuffit to segment, which is taking “another” forever…

    @100

*Mac* has no 4Gig size limit. FAT32 has. And as of know, this is the easiest way to share between Mac & PC. But for bigger files, try chopping it down or use samba to get the file across.

    @ All Mac haters,

I was not too fond of macs too, with their own fiddling, the claims they *could not be compared* to PC’s, and that sort of crap. Now they have Intel’s, much of that eerie magic has gone. Being able to run Windows natively in bootcamp, and those virtualisation programs (which I use none) made the Mac mature. But you’ll find yourself keep booting OSX, because that’s simply why the Mac is worth the money. It works bloody great. And that was Tiger.. let’s go Leopard!

Don’t wanna flame, but come on PC buddies.. you have Vista now. That is the crappiest thing there ever was. I’m a true XP-guru, and the few hours I have been working on Vista have been an absolute nightmare.

Could somebody tell me if this is just another blank DMG or whether it’s the real deal. As in the final GM release candidate??? Thanks.

This is Build 9A581 and is the GM. Works great too.
