Apple gives money back to iPhone users
Apple Inc. has begun allowing people who bought iPhones before the higher-end model’s price was abruptly slashed to apply for a $100 store credit. The company said the credit would be available for people who bought either the $599 8-gigabyte, iPhone or the $499, 4-gigabyte model before Aug. 22. People who bought the phones more recently are eligible for refunds. Those early buyers must fill out a form on Apple’s Web site to have the retail or online store credit delivered to them electronically. The credit can be redeemed only inside the United States, and cannot be used inside the iTunes store or for Apple store gift cards, according to terms listed on the company’s Web site.
iPhone customers will first be required to go to Apple’s website and enter in their iPhone serial number and phone number. After that time, an SMS text message will be sent to the phone with an access code to redeem the $100 credit. The access code can then be used in combination with your phone number to generate an electronic store credit of $100 to use towards any Apple Store purchase. Customers must request the credit before November 30, 2007 or forfeit their rights to the $100. It’s good to see Apple keep their promises at least…

old news
Not old news.. but VERY old news!
“Hi, sorry you got hosed buying our POS phone that was so badly overpriced that even we finally figured it out, here’s a $100 store credit (no, not a rebate or cash back or money off the ungodly monthly charges you’re paying, a store credit you iDiot) so you can spend even more money getting hosed — albeit hosed by $100 less than our other suckers… Err… Customers — buying another of our overpriced and under performing iApple product.”
Apple, proving every day that P.T. Barnum was indeed right.
I think iPhone buyers deserve more back. Apple is notorious for selling faulty (buggyipods :\)products to consumers, reinforced by very promising advertising campaigns. It’s not exactly cheap, as well. Is Apple using flash media storage as an excuse for inflated prices? iPods make half-decent media players (The 5th gen and previous generations had barely any features, but a simple GUI and a fun scroll wheel :D, I’ll give them that), but when it comes to phones, they should stay in their own scene; making computers surpassed by PCs and possibly the #1 most complained about product by consumer^^(iPod)
I think they deserve Nothing back. That is WHAT HAPPENS prices drop, sometimes a lot. Even given that who gives a crap, they paid to be first, they were first. Now people who didn’t care about being first can purchase it at a more normal reasonable price. I think they got what they paid for, they felt it was worth the price they paid at the time, and paid it. If I make a purchase for a new PC I expect a week later that same PC to already be a far lower price. You can’t wait forever to buy electronics for the ‘best’ thing, you will never buy a thing because that’s how technology works. The fact that anyone is getting a dime back is already too much. No one forced them to purchase an iPhone for the original price. Otherwise I want a refund on every PC, Video card, Motherboard, RAM, processor i’ve ever purchased, I mean what the hell the price dropped on them after I bought them! Oh heavenes!
You can’t credit the fact that it’s a faulty crummy product to that people need a refund. If morons pay that much for a crappy phone such as the iPhone, or as iPods they deserve what they get. Maybe if more people did Research in say Google?Wikis? ANYWHERE they’d realize, hey, this product isn’t really that great, there are already lower priced better alternatives out there. But people fall to marketing, and Apple is great at marketing. People have no clue that there are and were superior products already on the market for hundreds less, they just want the fancy iPhone and paid for it. Apple is great at catering to morons, and now the morons are upset and want money back.
Ipod good yes col
Me has hitachi
Fuck Fagple up their assintosh.

I like some apple products but I hate it when people think, OMG! its apple it totaly pwns your g@y microsfot cr@p.
I do wish people wernt so stupid though,
The point is to make a better product,
not a better advetisment.
