Apocalypto DVDSCR XviD-iMBT

Wow. A quick refresh of my sources, came up with this amazing release. Group iMBT just released a DVDscreener of the movie Apocalypto. This movie has a nice 7.6/10 on IMDB, with almost 7500 votes. So this must be a great movie. (Kevin) Alright this needs a little filler so here we go: This is Mel Gibson’s second movie with a strange language. It’s Mayan (or how ever you write that) because the movie’s all about Mayans and the end of their civilization.

Mel Gibson (BRAVEHEART, THE PASSION OF THE CHRIST) tackles the downfall of Mayan civilization in his latest turn as writer/director. Jaguar Paw (Rudy Youngblood) and his fellow villagers lead a peaceful life in the forest until a savage, unprovoked attack turns their world upside down. After hiding his pregnant wife and young son from the invaders, Jaguar Paw joins in the fight, only to be taken prisoner with the rest of the survivors. Uncertain of what the future holds and taken from his home to a thriving metropolis that might as well be a foreign country, Jaguar Paw has just one goal–to return to his wife and child. Jaguar Paw’s journey is a coming-of-age saga running the gamut of love, loss, courage, and redemption.

Filmed in Mexico with a cast of indigenous Americans speaking in the Yucatec dialect, this is a tale filled with contrasts. Muted greens and browns define the forest village while the city is awash in bright colors. The wealthy live in opulence, sporting elaborate jewelry, clothing, and hairdos while the villagers wear twig and bone ornaments. The villagers respect both life and nature, but the rulers of the great stone city condone violence in an effort to appease their gods. Gibson’s point is clear: the more “advanced” society is corrupt and unrepentant, while the more primitive Mayans have far greater faith and humanity. Gibson also drives home the recurring theme of rebirth with symbolism, including rain, pregnancy, and the arrival of Christianity. Beautifully filmed by Dean Semler and scored by James Horner, APOCALYPTO could benefit from some framing at its beginning to give the viewer a sense of time and place, but otherwise offers a rare glimpse into a lost world.

Take all this with a pinch of salt until it’s actually proven as unscrambled. As much as I would love to believe the Cinea is hacked already, taking a look at all the security features on it, it sounds like something that would take a hell of a lot of work to crack.

I really hope it’s cracked, that would be a huge breakthrough!

It’s a good movie, well worth the download. I saw it at a theatre a couple of days ago. However, I think I’ll wait for the proper dvdrip release before adding it to my collection :-)
The same goes for The Last King of Scotland – apparently it was screened at the last London Film Festival where it received excellent reviews. Idi Amin is certainly one of the most colourful lunatic dictators that had appeared in the past couple of decades so a film about him starring Forest Withaker must be good.

I downloaded this “screener” a few days ago when it really came out. Quality is a little bit better than the Cam but still bad. I also watched the sample at first and hoped the full version would be better, it wasnt.

    Waiting for a quality DVDRip

The syncfix didnt work for me. But I ended up watching the movie anyways cause I couldnt wait. The choppiness and out of sync doesnt harm the movie so much, since most of it is action around that spot. The movie was really good, not as bloody as i had expected from the reviews. So, whens Apocalypto 2 coming out?

Some of you guys are still having problems with fixing sync? OK, extract CD2 file to the CD2 folder. Now you have the RAR files plus the .avi file in the same folder. DL Apocalypto.2006.DVDSCR.XviD.SYNCFIX-MIGRAINE and extract into the CD2 folder. Click the “ma-2″ button that looks like a dos figure. A dos window will pop up and then nandub will begin to fix the .avi file. takes about 3-4 minutes on most computers. Good luck.

  77. Few
    January 9th, 2007 | 22:26

Hey, about the SYNC. It wont work if you’ve changed the cd2 filename. Just remember to change it back to the original name: Apocalypto.DVDSCR.XviD-iMBT.cd2

    Thanks for the fix! :)

  78. fy
    January 9th, 2007 | 23:18

yo bitches. the migraine fix doesn’t work if you don’t have the xvid vfw codec. the ffdshow xvid codec, which you use to play the file, is NOT enough. (nandub can’t open the file if you don’t have it).

You can google the codec or get it from a pack like K-Lite FULL (free-codecs.com/download/K_Lite_Codec_Pack.htm) (16MB, reboot not needed after install).

and uh, not all people who cant run the damn fix jerks off on a .bat, so F off. shantih.

    January 11th, 2007 | 19:30

Migrane fix is kewl it works … no sweat,
The batch file *.bat is programmed to run Nandub (piped program) so please ensure you extract with the same folder names/file names, if you happen to rename the folder where you extracted the migrane fix or if you have renamed the original IMBT file (CD2), open the VCF (Nandub job file) with a notepad & check the path/file names & rename it accordingly, this wille split the file into 3 halves where we have the out of sync issues & sync em by 1000ms (specified in the job) & then join to a diff file (also piped to delete the rest files not req) all you now do is use the file syncfixed & enjoy the movie… phew.. loads of crap to type.. guess i am bored

You guys didn’t realise this movie is still out of sync when it converted to a dvd format (MPEG2). I use TMPGEnc Xpress 4.0. I guess it is the problem that there is a empty audio period that TMPGEnc will ignore or something. Any fix for this?
