I just finished watching this movie. I must say it was pretty good, but i enjoyed the novel a lot more. Anyways yesterday we had DEViSE release the first R5 version, and today CaRRe releases the scene version. This version is the same as DEViSE but split into two CDs and the resolution is smaller. Also, subs are included as they are necessary for some parts of the movie. If you enjoy some good action take a look at this.

Despite his notorious relationship with the Church, Harvard symbologist Robert Langdon is once again called upon to decipher the clues to a catastrophic conspiracy. The Pope has died, and before conclave can begin to determine his successor, the four preferitti (primary hopefuls for the papacy) are kidnapped. An ominous threat of their hourly demise, along with the complete annihilation of Vatican City, is issued as an elaborate revenge scheme for a persecuted group known as the Illuminati.     I think that The Da Vinci Code was better. All those church chases and other religious bs, crazy popes and e. g. … that was too much … Anyhow I give this movie a nice 5.5/10 score and a middle finger :mrgreen: .

    why do thay call it DVDRip… Its an R5, not dvdrip. Im sure you all already know R5 is russian DVD source, but NOT the same as retail DVDRip. Often R5 is just a nice professional telecine, which while nice and clear, IS NOT A DVDRIP.

    @17…R5's are not TC's. You could technically call an R5 a DVDRIP, as the video is ripped from a Russian DVD (Region 5 DVD). BUT…the audio is obviously not from the Russian DVD, so it falls short of a true DVDRIp. You could say the video is a DVDRip and the audio is [whatever source is available]. Really though, who cares…lol

    Way too many of the best plot elements were down played. If I hadn't read the book I would not have picked up on them very quickly or possibly at all. Oh, and to clarify something. . . THIS IS NOT SUPPOSED TO BE A SEQUEL! What the hell, Ron Howard!?!?

    Do yourself a favor and read the book and try your best to forget that you ever saw this film. It's not so good. . .

    Both Devise and CaRRe released could not play on standard DVD player.

    I have no issue with other scene group releases, thus, I believe their encoding settings has something to do with it.

    #39 ax seems you are the noob here. The rls has some glitches. Thus, it will most likely not play on most of the standard dvd players without any problems.

    Tested it with a decent Panasonic dvd player. It starts playing but you have to wait 20 seconds. It even stops playing in the middle.

    Pity the poster of the devise version couldn't be botherd to tell us sub waren't included in that. Really the staff are knobs here… Used to come here so I could get an idea of what was best version to download… might as well juts got straight to mininova now.. This site really as gone downhill

    Hey #39,

    The purpose of having those XviD/DivX/MPEG4 compliant DVD players is to avoid been a loser wasting time to use ConvertXtoDVD.

    I have no issues from a reputable scene group releases.

    #43 – me share the same hunch that CaRRE simply split and resize the DeViSE version since I have issue in playing both version.

    in some ways i agree with 43.Too much american t.v [who cares about talk shows!]and posts repeating themselves [albums then music picks with the same items].

    if ouy get the 2 x 700 meg files from megaupload dont forget to join the files together

    Bob, R5's are 99% of the time professionally done TCs.

    Also, you say the audio "obviously isn't" but many times there is studio english on the R5. The audio is only from another source if it's an R5 with Line audio (such as in this case).

    Pathetic movie. Mediocrity at its best. No real anxiety and agony. If you compare this disgrace with Seven for instance, it goes down the drain for sure. Another Hollywood blockbuster with no value at all.

    I watched Devise's version last night , on my Samsung DVD player , the first 20 seconds had audio problems , and the movie just plain stopped 20 minutes before the end of it ,it play fine on PC though, so there are some encoding issues i did not see any sync problems though

    Figure i will DL this one convert it to DVD and add the subs as there is alot of parts in french and some in latin ,

    And this movie isnt as bad as some are making it out to be , definite 7/10 in my opinion

    Yeah it's that bad. Don't waste your money on cinemas. If you really, really need to see it just for the hype of it, download it and check it out. Those who did read the book agree that the movie didn't do it justice. It should have been 5-6 hours at least in order the plot to have the chance to breathe and evolve. As it stands is just a waste.

    Maybe just me but…
    a + b are not playing in quicktime – just shows a green screen for a few seconds. sample plays fine, but the actual movie? not so much.

    Will play in VLC however, but it locks up ever so often and seems to be out of sync. So I dont know what's going on…

    Was really looking forward to watching this one tonight too!

    Have you tried the DEViSE subtitles? The worst attempt at translating French & German I've ever seen! The English is terrible, with words missing in the sentences and obvious mistakes (e.g Anagram instead of Ambigram). The translation reads as though it's been done by a school student.

    Does anyone have a properly translated Subs file that can be applied to either the DEViSE or the CaRRe avi files? If there's a plain text transcript of the dialogue, I'll happily make a subs file myself.
