Ancient Wars Sparta-ViTALiTY
Guys from ViTALiTY finally release at least a little decent computer game. Ancient Wars: Sparta is a historical strategy with 3 different campaigns and game modes. The graphics look just nice, but it is visible on the size of this title: almost 3.5 GB may take some time to download. If you are into history and Praetorians, Age of Mythology and other titles are still your popular ones, this game shouldn’t miss your drive.
Sparta is based on the history of the ancient ages and their main nations. Spartans, Persians and Egyptians are fighting for influence around Little Asia, Europe and North Africa. Historical correct timeline is 500-450 BC and the action takes place with different campaigns for all three races. Sparta represents 3D strategy in real time with the new developed “Ancient Wars Engine” (AWE), where the player will have to use each nation’s powers to be superior over other competitors and build up a driving and ruling faction.

The main emphasis is on large-scaled battles and complex tactical manoeuvres. Additional to this, a new method of army equipment is represented. Warriors can be equipped with weapons and shields, can be put on horses or on chariots and be given special abilities. The player can collect abandoned weapons after battles or import powerful weapons from other cultures to build more powerful and different special units. Additionally the forces of nature are very important, because fire, find etc. will affect the whole environment. Cities can be upgraded (e.g. turned to fortresses), workers gather resources to ensure the economic part. Sparta offers every aspect RTS gamers like.

They did a nice job implementing believable ragdolls for the tiny units. Graphics are kind of cartoony but animations and environments are generally above average. After watching 300, the voice of Leonidas in this game is a bit weak though the voice acting altogether is enjoyable. I like how the formations put the strongest up front and weakest in the back so your healers can last through the thick of it.

Preparing Your Hard Drive
To ensure that your installation is trouble free, you should check to see that
your hard drive and file system are both tuned for optimum performance. Windows
comes with a utility programs that will help optimise your hard drive
performance.
You can optimise your hard drive’s performance by running a program called Disk
Defragmenter. You can run Disk Defragmenter by clicking on the Start button from
the Windows desktop, followed by Programs, then Accessories, then System Tools,
and finally Disk Defragmenter.
sam, go fuk urself
requirements are a bit high and heard it was rubbish anyway
actually its too damn high!! 2024 ram ? alot man , i dont think a game any game deserves that much!
i think that the requirements is too much i mean like of it was 1 GB prosesor and 512 ram and 64 mb vedio card, that will be much better.
Actually it’s a good game, physics effects are a nice touch. The dialogue is a bit crappy but it’s like that in most games, even the big budget RTS’es. Don’t always believe the reviews, many of whom are paid or get freebies from the big boys to denigrate rivals and hype up their products. case in point is FEAR, which is much less of a game then it got reviewed as. I enjoyed the first few hrs of FEAR, before the idiotic storyline ie. running up and down the same building 4 times(!); the bland repetitive locations, and the same firefights in every second or third room with the same 4 or 5 clones ended up boring me to tears. FEAR seemed a ruch job, great potential squandered, yet all the reviewers blew in their pants like it was god knows what! Call of Juarez is a far superior and interesting game, yet being from an unknown developer it got lukewarm reception.
Similar here, while this is not a revolutionary game, it’s a fun title, worth the download at least;-)
As for the requirements, they are 512 mb ram, 2.4Ghz CPU, 6600GT, for minimum, double this in ram is quite enough to get it playing well on a reasonable resolution.
It says wrong disc. please insert the correct disk when i go to play it? Im new to all this so any help thanks

In this game there are few things to remember for a PRO player:
- Build stonewalls so they dont burns and light you city in fire.
- Build the best ship you can FIRST before any other ships. Then find the enemy’s dock (DOESNT WORK AGAINST PERKs)and RAM every ship you can. Or better, capture it.
- If in a hill map/Mountain map, build Stonetraps (Sparta) on the cliffs. It gives a fast Death to the enemy.
- NEVER destory a Siege Weapon/Animal/etc. completely. Only the guys whos controlling it. YOU CAN SELF USE IT!!!
(Siege Weapons = Helots, Slave (Perks),Slave (Egypt)
(Animals = Warriors (best archers))
My PC is “Out of Order” right now, so can any player of this game tell me that if it is possible to steal an elephant from the enemy? Because you can steal chariots from the egyptians so you should also could steal elephant from Persia.
BONUS QUESTION ( Send aswer to lasse_ah@hotmail.com )
