Stop posting about this lame contest.
You know , there is 1 of such contest in almost every damn country in the world , even in Cyprus or Belaruss.
So why keep posting about this one and not others ?
We don't care about it .
great singer never come out of this 'fast food singer competition'.
get over it.
Since I'm one of those who do care, just wondering what happened to the results mp3's last week? Thanks for posting this, I enjoy…
@2
Maybe you should change "We dont care about them" to "I" because if you check the replies from the other American Idol posts like this its pretty evident that lots of people appreciate these posts apart from the odd person like you, its simple enough to scroll past it with your mouse wheel but you choose not to…. so stop complaining
Im not American but American Idol is one of the most popular Idol shows around which is choose why i post them
@6
Yeah i just realized that i forgot to post last weeks Results shows MP3, ill try get them up in a few hours. Sorry
b*tch voted off. yeah i spoil that *hit. suck it.
Well said, Dot. I'm not American either and I love the show. Passes the time, anyway.
And, #4, I think you'll find Kelly Clarkson came from this "fast food singer competition," and she's one of the most successful pop singers around.
@9 easily famous, easily forgotten.
let's see if she's still exist in the next 5 years.
Christina Aguilera didn't need this kinda show to be greatly famous. Jewel sang from one bar to another and she's a great singer AND MUSICIAN.
Xtina was on the mickey mouse club, and I imagine if Jewel could've skipped the years of bar singing and gone straight to superstardom she would've been all over the opportunity. Clarkson's beeen famous for almost 7 years now, I'd say that certainly pushes you beyond the "passing fad" level. You don't have to like the show, but it's very nature guarantees that "great singer"s come out of it. Whether they turn into great artists is debatable, but deriding the vocal talent is just silly. And what's wrong with a talent competition simply for the sake of it? That's what the olympics are, I suppose you think they're a waste too?
Xtina was a contestant on Star Search program, and she LOST. the champions from the show are not even famous. but Xtina is famous, so that's a proof that she didn't have to win such a contest. her great talent made her famous.
the olympic are for physical talent only. artistic talent is not included. there are waaayyyyy much better singer in indie music scene. they can sing AND make great music. and great singer n musician doesn't have to be famous or make platinum sales.
Lily Allen prove it. she's a teenage drunker, n made her community using MySpace. She's a great musician.
Don't feed those American Idol hating trolls! They think it's cool to hate a popular show so that's what they do.
And I agree with @11. fridgey. Kelly Clarkson's been around for a remarkably long time. But too bad about others like Rubben and Taylor Hicks who have faded into obscurity. I STILL can't get over the fact that Hicks won over Katharine McPhee and Daughtry.. HOW??
Daughtry is another proof that he didn't have to win such a contest to show the world that he IS talented. you just proved my point @13 Hypnotik.
@14, and without the competition, he wouldn't be as famous as he is now, or at least gotten into the limelight. Artists come and go all the time, regardless of how they rose to fame. American Idol is no exception. Sometimes singers have staying power, sometimes they don't.
And if this show helps kickstart people's careers, then I don't see the harm in that. Clarkson has been around for over seven years now. Nobody said anything about actually winning the competition, but without it, most of these people wouldn't even be able to break into the industry.
If your argument is that Christina Aguilera became famous instantly, or that Lily Allen didn't need the public to become famous, then your point is seriously flawed. Both were in the public eye before breaking into the business (whether it be a talent show or Myspace). With the industry so full nowadays, people are jumping at every chance they can get to catch that lucky break.
From what I recall though, your point to begin with is that a "great singer never came out of this fast food competition." You're kinda contradicting yourself by stating that "Daughtry," (band or frontman) IS talented. He came from the very competition you are attempting to degrade.
Your argument that artists are only truly great if they "make it on their own" is completely ignorant and immature. Not everybody is lucky enough to get that chance. Others have to take every opportunity, every road, any chance they get. So while I agree that American Idol is a flawed format, and that the record company doesn't always support the winners of the show, I don't discourage contestants or the opportunity.

no pass
yes, i just personally hate this show. competing one artistical talent to others just sucks for me.
and i hate this show even more when:
@Hypnotik
"I STILL can't get over the fact that Hicks won over Katharine McPhee and Daughtry.. HOW??"
this show made the losers looked less talented than the winner while the winner:
@Hypnotik
"But too bad about others like Rubben and Taylor Hicks who have faded into obscurity."
yes, everybody has to take every chances to get into their lucky break. but not with competition that comparing one artistic talent to others, for me comparing one talent to others are just sucks, especially if there's mouthy jurors in it.
again, this is personal opinion.
peace.
And that country singer chick is more sold records than all of the winners put together. And clay akken didnt even win and is popular with the g4y demographic.

i just hate a show if it's trying to compare one artistic talent to another, because unlike physical talent, you can't compare artistic side of a man/woman with another. everyone's has a style. when a group of jurors trying to judge who is good and who is bad, while all of you guys who watch this show is 'oohh, she's can't even sing' 'ooh, his singing sucks' 'ooh XXX is going home', you just have no idea!
i am an artist myself, a designer to be exact. i know how it hurt when people out there judging me, and they don't even know me. because art is about expressing yourself.
and after all these years, all these seasons, all those winners, only Kelly Clarkson's last. great job american idol!! this show is do nothing but rejecting talents.
and hell yeah, daughtry did came OUT of this show, because this show REJECTED him.
and so did with Kate Hudson, she's another proof, she won the OSCAR baby!
@7 So still no results from last week
I've become a bit of a completionist at this point I'm afraid…
