mVs are back again with nice little R5 of American Gangster. Seeing as a very clean DVDSCR was released a week or so before this film was shown in cinemas this R5 isnt to exciting but it does trump the DVDSCR in small areas that concern quality. This is slightly brighter and less washed. The audio sounds pretty much the same. If you haven’t watched this film yet even though there’s been a great copy out already now a great time to!

Synopsis: American Gangster” concerns Harlem drug kingpin Frank Lucas (Washington), who smuggled heroin in the body bags of U.S. soldiers slain in Vietnam. Brolin plays Det. Trupo, a crooked NYPD cop who piggybacks on the Lucas investigation conducted by Det. Ritchie Roberts (Crowe).

    Just a re encode of the German rls which has been out for a couple days with English audio.

    @17, the director’s cut will be sweet, hope DiAMOND gets to handle that release.

    This does looks like a minor upgrade, but I will probably pass. I have the DVDSCR.NTSC.DVDR.Custom.MultiSubs-BRiGHTNESS and that looks just fine. If a nice looking DVDR of this comes out, I might snag. Otherwise, after I convert to DVD, it’ll end up looking around the same.

    FFAS - this already has the DVDSCR audio, either that or it has an orignal track from the DVD or a direct LINE audio source would be listed in the NFO.

    I don’t know, but I wouldn’t consider it impossible. It’s not like they don’t put foreign audio language tracks on DVDs and since this has already leaked they could have said, “to hell with it, just put it on there.” but more than likely, its the stolen screener audio.

    Not meaning to look a gift horse in the mouth, but why do people even bother with sites like rapidshare, megaupload, megashares or whatever when there’s adrive and yastorage? Those other sites have all sorts of very long waiting processes to go through in order to access one individual segment of the whole.

    That said, I’ll cross my fingers for an alternative download. Thanks for everyone’s efforts.

    @33 plenty of people have accounts on rs or other (which they are paying for) so they don’t wait and so on. and rs have very good speeds.

    I agree whole-heartedly that people who issue spoilers into the comments on this site should be banned for good. Spoilers read in the comments on this site have ruined a couple of good movies for me. Fortunately in this case, #42 is not a spoiler - just someone pretending to publish one. I’ve seen the movie and THAT IS NOT HOW IT ENDS…. “Sir Spoils Alot” is just being a pr*ck.

    This looks the same as the screener, I downloaded American.Gangster.2007.R5.XViD-mVs and it’s still so dark you can bearly see in parts. This can’t be an actually R5, maybe someone can up the real R5 and not repacks with the same dark screener. does someone have the good copy?

    This is real R5 release and the quality in my opinion is better
    than the screener from PUKKA. If you want to complain, send an e-mail to mVs (look at the NFO :-)

    Washington ownz Crowe in this one. Good movie. But it sucks, that for some movies there are a DVD-screener AND a R5-release, whereas for other movies all you get is a CAM. Do I have to fall on my knees and beg for “The Mist” in a watchable quality? No DVD-screener? No R5?`Not even a Telecine? *cries*

    Please? “The Mist”? Anybody? *sobs*

    @ #33. people post links on rapidshare and the likes because some people actually pay the $10.50 USD for an account to be able to download unlimited rather then the BS hoops you have to jump through for the free links. plus with access to all the movie links in rapidshare with an account means you can be watching the movie in about 10 mins. i have tried using some of those one link free download sites and it amazing anyone even uses those when it takes days to download a movie

    @65 - if u use the better sites (xdrive or p2m)it wouldn’t take days to get anything, the only one that takes days for free is rapidshare. n u dont get a wealth of stuff cause rapid links r known to die fast. if u insist on sites like rapid then megaupload at least has a happy hours where from 9pm to 3am u get premium member assess, i get up to 1.2mb/s. i really wish people would use that rather than rapid even if mega links also die fast but at least for free its better. i mean the point here is to get free movies right?

    @59 it’s the same thing, same dark screen. same exact deal as PUKKA, and this is not complaining, this is also my opinion for people who are going to waste their time downloading the same thing as they already had, but thanks for telling me where I can complain to for future refrence. I guess you can email mVs and tell them your opinion too.
