I have only played this game for the Wii, and I bet it is different than the PC version, but I really didn’t like this game that much. The score at IGN(which you’ll see if you follow the link) is very low. Not sure about the gameplay on the PC, but I think this game would actually be fun if played on a 360. But if you weren’t able to get the crack working on the last release, it seems we have a better more stable one going with this release. Thanks to RELOADED for getting this out! Enjoy!

Taking the fear to a new level, the next-gen Alone in the Dark features the macabre style of the series played with new gameplay mechanics and a broader-reaching, action-packed play style. Explore fully-interactive realtime worlds, interacting with physics and roaming the wide-open, fright-filled environments.

This next-gen Alone in the Dark is also built around a unique episodic game structure — the story is split into a number of distinct 30-40 minute episodes, doled out one at a time as you play. Each time the player launches a saved game, the episode will begin with a video summary of the previous episode to quickly re-immerse the player in the story and removing the need to remember where they were or what they were doing. Every episode will close with a nail-biting cliff-hanger ending to rattle players’ nerves, and if the player is leaving the game a video teaser of the next episode will play to leave them wanting more.

    Awful game.

    I had the misfortune to buy it, thought I would be a good person for once. BAD IDEA.

    Controls are so bad, so so bad.

    Beautiful looking, but unplayable.

    @23 – xibalba: (nice nick!) If you have a single core AMD, the game takes ages to load! ALT + TAB and set the priority of the .exe to HIGH. Then the game will load a bit faster (but still slow!)

    @24:I use the 360 wireless reciever and controller with it on my pc and the menues are just like the xbox version.So I reckon that its the same as on 360 if played with all gfx turned up and said controller.

    btw the atmosphere of this game is really nice… but its full of physics bugs (during the lvls with the car)

    Now run the game from start menu,programs,GSC World Publishing & it will now be in english.

    Apparently you have to remount the game every three days & for the first time you boot game you should leave the

    This game was one of those games highly expected on the scene forums/sites, specially due to the lack of a working crack in the first releases. After testing it (on the previous version with a half-working crack) I just have to say that I’m glad for not having bought it.
    One more game with a great idea but very poor conception.
    It COULD be a good game if it wasn’t for the controls and… well, the 3rd person playing camera is a bit annoying.

    But hey, if you don’t believe me, just try it for yourself. On my opinion, it’s a waste of time and bandwidth.

    But the game is OK. I have finished it already with the DarkCoder’s crack and a XBox360 controller. The game have some phisics problems when driving, but in general, it’s OK.

    Installed the PC version after all the hype about this game. My verdict – don’t bother – at least with the PC version. I’ve got what I would consider an average PC and it’s slow going. The gameplay itself is fairly slow and uninteresting. I’m using keyboard and mouse controls so maybe it would work better if I setup my console style controller. Who knows? This one is probably better left for the consoles. Not too many ports from console to PC have turned out that great anyway. Bottom line – I’ll be uninstalling shortly.

    Atari can just release a patch so u dont need to rely on the servers.. for example a patch that u place on the desktop and when executed installs from the game disk and adds the file u would have had to download. very simple really.

    I don’t need the crack, what I would like, is a method of installing WITHOUT internet access (I own the game, but I dont have internet access thanks to my digs, using the UNI comps to post this)

    i don`t know why nobody said this but here is some important info, this version CAN be installed WITHOUT internet connection, i install it with my internet connection completely unplugged and the game installs, so great job reloaded!!! BTW i have some serious soudn issues, i only hear fuzz noises no sound at all, i wanted to give this game an opportunity but now with this i guess i`ll join the DIED ATARI bandwagon :D
