Group TDM brings us AITD5 and I know many of you (including me) are anxiously awaiting this game. Well here it is, and despite average reviews (Metacritic: 55% from 16 reviews) I’m gonna play this and form my own opinion. No, I haven’t played it yet, but my source says it is working, and my source is trusted ;)

Just follow the instructions in the NFO file and you will be good. I can’t find any download links as of now, but be patient for a couple of hours and start your whopping 7,7 Gb download into the dark nights of Central Park..

Taking inspiration from the presentation style and structure of a number of acclaimed and globally popular TV action dramas, Alone in the Dark is split into a number of distinct episodes in a season-style format. With approximately 30-40 minutes of gameplay comprising each episode, the structure of Alone in the Dark is adapted for an audience familiar with the hard-hitting bite-size delivery of contemporary TV dramas, offering easy accessibility whether the player has hours to devote or only wants a quick TV-style fix. Each time the player launches a saved game, the episode begins with a video summary of the previous episode to quickly re-immerse the player in the story, removing the need to remember where they were or what they were doing.

Every episode closes with a nail-biting cliff-hanger ending to rattle players’ nerves, and if the player is leaving the game a video teaser of the next episode plays to leave them wanting more. Alone in the Dark returns with a heart-stopping survival experience realized through the use of state-of-the-art real-time physics and unprecedented environmental interaction. Delivering an action-orientated experience within a highly detailed, open environment, Alone in the Dark once again strives innovation and excellence within the genre.

    Guys, buy this game.

    Help ATARI to it helps us to make another great games.

    I wont play this game bcause I dont like this genre, so… I hope that u guys like it to buy it.

    Unless this is really different from the xbox360 version, trust me supporting atari is the last thought you’ll have.

    Not scary, really annoying and gimmicky. The controls may have gotten better than the xbox360 version, i doubt it though.

    I know darkcoder is not really crack this game,
    he have somehow access to
    the original protection toolkit
    perhaps he even one of the people who working
    in the company that make this protection.
    It’s not makes sense that he have cracked this game alone
    and in so short time after people equest him to do so.
    something strange happing here,
    the best crackers from the scene didn’t manege to crack it.
    no human can be so smart to make the right files that crack this game in just a few hours and alone.

    I hope you don´t have to install like the other version.

    Instructions:
    1. Copy the Keygen in The AITD 5 Folder to The Original .exe
    2. Run keygen
    3. Start the game
    4. Use as Serial: CAA-7CKP-Y7GC-KC9W-URC4 from The Keygen And click Activate!
    4.1 Now You you can see a Message: This serial number was used on too many computer!
    5. Click acivate Manually
    6. copy the activation request code!
    7. Insert the activation request code on the keygen into The Free line
    8. Close the ALONE IN THE DARK AKTIVATION!
    9. Click Aktivate on the Keygen. Now, when the keygen close, the game activated.
    10. Go To the KEYGEN FOLDER AND PRESS On securomkill.reg And press again Yes
    11. Copy the ALONE.exe,The Paul.dll and the lang.ini from the KEYGEN FOLDER IN THE GAME FOLER!
    12. START THE GAME!
    ENJOY ALONE IN THE DARK 5 (2008)

    Normally I do not post on these silly comments but this is to #22/#29
    Please refrain from such idiotic comments. For so many years this scene has seen many intelligent and unique individuals crack some of the toughest protections out there. Who cares (other than those who want to learn how to do this) about how he/she cracked the protection. Whatever methods to get the job done is irrelevant if the results are positive.

    Now, hopefully we’ll see a Bionic Commando crack :D

    I actually felt sorry for Atari and decided to just go ahead and buy the game.

    Needless to say – worst game I have payed for in a very long time. The controls are HORRIBLE, it feels literally painstaking trying to use anything at your disposal in the game. The graphics are not even that good, and it barely pushed my old E6400 c2duo and 8800GT past a tiny sweat.

    Unless you like consuming bandwidth for no reason. Completely avoid this game.

    Err.. Comment 66 (Sebax). The company ATARI who used to make the old video game consoles (ie: 2600, 5200… the one that nearly destroyed the games industry.) are not this ATARI. This company used to called ‘Infograms’, they simply bought and use the name ATARI.

    And trust me… from reviews I’ve seen sections of this game are far from playable. I’m just trying to make some of you guys not download this because its not worth it.

    Funny thing many says here that this game is CRAP LOL

    And give it a score of 4 to 6, do you happen to know that a score of ‘5′ is really ‘AVERAGE’ or ‘OK’? Crap should be 1-2/10.

    As for the game itself, it’s controller is pretty much standard to the genre, you get used to it by playing many of the games of this type.

    One of the most impressive games I’ve played in years. Stunning graphics (would require decent graphics adapter), great and exciting gameplay, twisted and interesting plot. Don’t know about this release but the previous one never worked so I just went to buy it. Funny thing was that my computer was barely running it so had to get decent hardware as well. But it sure was worth it.

    Hey #93… I haven’t played the game…but it doesn’t give you an opt to redefine the controller buttons? That would suck… anyways.. I think I might sit this game out… I’m tired of downloading these big games that aren’t worth my HD space..     I’ve got an audio problem where there is no english audio in my game? Even when the text is english (downloaded EURO version with ENGLISH installation), when i go into the languages settings, i browsed through and apparently there is only some weird language available, when i try to go back to english it’s been locked… so wtf is going on?

    Is it just me or does the protagonist handle like a fat guy with a shattered pelvis on an unicycle?

    Bad controls, and I dont think they were originally good in the Xbox360 version either from what I’ve heard.

    Just to clarify.

    Kudos for to the person who finally released a crack. I don’t care – i bought the game. Hell i would even be willing to give away my legit key it’s that bad.

    I swear i looked forward to this game so much. And just like someone else here said – i played it for 20-30mins or something and haven’t opened it again once.

    It is simply terrible – neither worth the waste of HDD space or the bandwidth.

    I’ve heard that Bionic Commando Rearmed uses the same protection. If so, perhaps we can enjoy its release in the near future?

    I know BC “only” costs 15 bucks, but it just doesn’t sit well with me that they’re asking me to pay a 50% upmark over the console versions (which, after all, additionally require royalties for console manufacturers).

    I like this game. I’m the one who likes horror games. This is not your average FPS. The controls are OK if you have ever played other horror games (like Nocturne) you’ll get used to them. The graphics are great for me.
    I personally don’t care what reviewers say, if I like the game, I will play it.

    - Bad gameplay
    - “Too heavy” for mid graphics
    - Difficult controllers
    - 1st person cant do things that 3rd person does
    - Bad programmed game
    - Several Bugs
    - Game gets boring.

    Point it:

    - Great story
    - Nice animations
    - 1st person is better than 3rd
    - Good Enviroment
    - Good Enterteinement
    - If u learn how the controller works, may it gets better

    My last review:

    Donate to ATARI makes better game than this one, but dont buy it =)

    Can someone explain to me how to enable my Xbox 360 wired gampad in this game..cant seem to make my gamepad work. 100 herop points to anyone who can tell me how to get the damned gamepad to work. there is nowhere that i can see to enable it.
    i have vista and the wired x360 gamepad for windows. works for every other GFW game out of the box.

    I said Great Story for those who like the AITD series. But to me it gets boring.

    Nice animations I said ANIMATIONS, NOT GRAPHICS! ANIMATIONS like things destroying, things falling from the building, like u have to grab in a hope, burn a chair; etc.

    The “too heavy for mid graphics” is real, why? The game is bad programmed, so the mid graphics runs “heavy”.

    The TDM nfo says run securom.reg, while all cracks in the links provided here don’t even have securom.reg files. Guess they are all from Darkcoder. So what’s the difference between the darkcoder crack and the TDM one? Seem to be different files.

    Hey, i have a question, i have the Russian version, the crack works great, but i i have a doubt: when the chars talk in game, i just can see their mouth moving, but no sound in their conversation. all the other effects sounds(screaming, music, sound FX effects) is working. Is it a sound problem, just with me, or others guys have the same?

    Works fine for me !
    Full procedure, using media-zone release, onlycopypaste crack:
    - install the game, any language. Need to be connected to the net at this stage, as a file is dl from atari servers
    - when program has retrieved the file from the net, you can stay offline from there
    - copy/paste crack, start the game !
    tested on beginning of first level, works fine, even with my poor… 7600gs… but really better with an appropriate gfx card

    Pour les francophone ^^:
    crack et version fonctionnelles chez moi, testé sur la release media-zone, avec le crack copypasteonly:
    - garder active la connection internet
    - lancer le programme d’install, n’importe quel langage (testé en FR)
    - le programme d’installe recupere un fichier sur les serveurs d’atari. Une fois fait, vous pouvez rester hors ligne, plus besoin du ternet ^^
    - apres install, copier le crack dans le dossier du jeu, et lancer !
    ca marche chez moi, et avec une 7600gs en + ! cela dit ce sera bien mieux avec une carte graphique appropriée

    a last point, afetr copy/paste of the crack, i imported the reg file… but i assume this is not necessary as it only create a key in registry, which should exists in case a securon game has already been installes… enjoy !

    pour les francophones, apres copier/coller du crack j’ai importé le fichier reg… mais ce ne doit pas etre necessaire attendu qu’il créé une clef qui doit etre existante, pour peu que vous ayez deja installé un jeu avec securom… bon jeu !

    Ahh nice to see this one cracked.
    Crack worked fine with IND.

    Looks like they didn’t do anything to the awkward controls from xbox version, well that sucks big time.
    I’d say controls on PC are worse than on console, unless you have a good gamepad.

    AVAST! Matey i confirm it works on XP.

    Controls Sucks, but the game isn’t totally crap, has some “wow” and funny moments. Give it a try.

    Cannot force antialising through nHancer.

    The game has a steady 60 FPS (monitored with FRAPS) on Q6600 + 8800gts 512MB (g92) @1680×1050 with all details maxed out

    After finally installing the game again, and use the crack that I waited for so long, I “loled” at myself. I was waiting so anxiously for this crack, and here it is, a free bad game!

    Kudos for the producers for having such a good and innovative idea, but damn… the idea was the only thing ok about this game.
    It looks like a bad port. Controls are awful and the game by itself is nothing special.

    as I said, good ideas, awful implementation.

    No the game isn’t that bad but like everyone already said, the controls totally suck. I can’t stand how it keeps automatically switching you from a 1st person to 3rd person view. Also if you have a weapon in your hand and pick up a chair for example, when you drop the chair your weapon is gone. So you have to press “I” and select your weapon again. The controls are a deal breaker for me. What was Atari thinking when the designed the weapon and control system?

    The game works – IND and Darkcoder crack.
    The controls are a bit messy – it takes time to adjust.
    The biggest problem however are BUGS in the game. The game freezes and also stops working sometimes!!!I had to take my savegames from vista and install the game on XP, to copy the savegames and continue from where I left of. And at some point I had to reverse the procedure (from XP to Vista).

    The game story is nice though and the graphics are solid.

    I’ve reached and saved in Level 3.
    This youngster of a hero is very bad.
    I have played better games in my time,like Condemned – Criminal Origins.
    Even in today’s standards Criminal Origins was 10/10.
    This game, although it has some nice touches it’s a clumsy Port from PS2. Terrible controls.
    I think I’ll wait for a controller hack. I give it 4/10.

    This game is bad, really bad. I wish I had not downloaded it.
    There is no plot at all. Game creators dont really know what is going on there, like in silent hill.
    Crapy controlls, crapy camera movement. Graphics are not that good. Flames dont look real at all.

    This ain’t a shooter game.
    There’s no way to control the hero.
    That’s one of the most over-rated games ever.
    Havok is a very old physics 3d engine and it shows it’s age.
    It can play full eye-candy on a crappy 8500 GT $40.00 card.
    It’s a waste of time and bandwidth.
    I agree with the Elder user. Condemned – Criminal Origins was heaps better and visually perfect. Even with today’s standards.
    Avoid at all costs.
