Almost Famous 2000 1080p Bluray x264 DTS-DEFiNiTE

It seems like all the groups in the HD-scene want to show their face today and this time it’s DEFiNiTE that comes with the 1080p version of Almost Famous (2000). This looks like a nice movie and so do the IMDB-users think: 8.0/10! I’d grab this one if you have a good connection :)

When his love of music lands him an assignment from Rolling Stone magazine to interview the up-and-coming band Stillwater-fronted by lead guitar Russell Hammond (Billy Crudup) and lead singer Jeff Bebe (Jason Lee)William embarks on an eye-opening journey with the band’s tour, despite the objections of his protective mother (Frances McDormand). With the help of the lovely “band aid” Penny Lane (Kate Hudson), William finds himself drawn into the band’s inner circle. But as he becomes less an observer and more a participant in the band’s dynamics, the fledgling reporter loses the objectivity to tell his story honestly, and learns a lifechanging lesson about the importance of family-the ones we inherit, and the ones we create.

    @ doofus
Some of us only use an hour to dl 13GB… and 1080 looks good on a real HD tv.. Some of us have plenty of hard disk space, and like getting HQ stuff. (like 20 TB of raid3 disks..)

There is over 7 different 1080i versions of all Star Wars movies, even more 720p. In x.264(MKV wrapper) and VC1(WMV wrapper) So stop being a baby. If you don’t understand it, then ignore it, and let us get it.

Kate Hudson in HD, priceless ;)

This ones nothing more than poorly upscaled 480p. It hasnt been mastered or rescanned for HD at all.

  23. Cat
    March 9th, 2008 | 03:28

Wow, samples are a little dissapointing to say the least. Definately doesn’t look like it’s been mastered for 1080p HD.

  24. Kim
    March 9th, 2008 | 03:34

It looks like it’s upscaled rather than proper 1080p, and why are the sample pics just 1600×866?

Listen, noobs, if you don’t have a true 1920×1200 monitor, don’t bother downloadding this. Pixel for pixel, ok?

If you are too stupid to figure out how to play a video file, then by all means please do not reproduce. There are enough re.tards on this planet already.

This cannot be a real Blu-Ray rip. The Blu-Ray release of Almost Famous is the 162 minute “untitled” version. The disc does not include the shorter version.

Therefore this must be an upscaled DVD rip.

This movie sucks monkey nuts for real! I recommend Rock Star for a good kickass heavy metal movie! Is there a HD rip of Rock Star?

  43. Beautyful Movie
    March 9th, 2008 | 12:27

This movie is beautyful. The still photography (Frances McDormand, Zooey Deschanel and Michael Angarano as mother Elaine Miller and her children Lisa and young William) beneath Bram’s intro is from one (of many) memorable scenes.

Later you see Seymour Hoffman (sp?) and Billy Crudup … and barebreasted Ana Paquin dancing, with her tiny tits, so cute! … but that film is so much more: The music, atmosphere, people. I love that film. btw you might want to post MAGNOLIA (1999) as a staff pick sometime …

… though if this is really an upscaled 480px version I’d recommend you rather dl a 1,4GB version or, even better, actually borrow the DVD from your local video rental store (especially for image quality).

I think movie studios are just cashing in on their back catalogue without much thought to the HD transfer

One of the first films I ever watch filmed in HD was Robert Rodriguez’s Once Upon a Time in Mexico.
Now that will look stunning as a 720p or 1080p rip
